“Respectable returns process”

Not sure if all this negative feedback has made them improve. I want to commend Worldstores on their returns process. Received a damaged item from them which was disappointing but the ease of return has left a good impression. They gave a collection schedule 4 days after I reported the problem. Collection people arrived on the day. Money including delivery fee was back in Paypal account within 1 hr of the item being collected. I may still order from them in future.

UPDATE: contacting the CEO or any other team members and they'll either ignore you or refer you to the Customer Care team without ever responding to you personally. The Customer Care team just dismiss everything we say or ask, and didn't know the facts regarding how to clean the sofa as per the video and instructions on the Dunelm product page for the sofa. Michelle from the Customer Care team had to confirm the correct way to clean our sofa after she argued and accused us of not following the guidelines, based on wrong facts and details in the Emmiera report by Russell. Michelle from Customer Care just keeps telling us that she is going along with the wrong information and won't look into it any further or work out a resolution. We have tried taking this issue to West Yorkshire Trading Standards Service ADR scheme as per the Dunelm Complaints procedure. It states that if you are unhappy with the resolution from Dunelm, you can contact ADR... but the catch, if you try - you have to have consent from Dunelm that they'll participate. Dunelm has declined to participate and told us to go to Trading Standards instead. Just a heads-up for anyone considering the Carson Deep Sit Vivalife Stain-Resistant Fabric Corner Sofa from Dunelm. We bought it in November 2022 for £1,314.05, and it's been nothing but trouble. Here's what we've experienced: - Mould is growing inside the cushions—even the ones that haven't been cleaned. - Despite being advertised as stain-resistant, the sofa stains and turns blue/black when cleaned according to the provided instructions. - There's a strange black glitter-like substance that transfers to skin and is hard to remove. - Dunelm sent a technician who initially told us it was a manufacturing fault, but their final report falsely blames us for "using the wrong cleaning methods." The report is full of mistakes, including irrelevant advice about cleaning garden furniture! - The sofa cushions are supposed to be water-resistant, but they've clearly soaked up moisture, causing the mould—despite us following the instructions and air-drying the cushions. We're being accused of mistreating the sofa without any real proof, and we're stuck with a product that doesn't meet the standards of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If you're looking for a sofa, I'd steer clear of this one.

Quick enough to answer phone to take money and order off of you but leave you on hold for an hour if you need to chase anything up!

Please please please do not order anything from Worldstores unless you want to enter into a nightmare scenario, wasted time on the phone, headaches and the lies. Lie after lie after lie. This has to be worst online retailer I have ever dealt with. They tell lie after lie after lie. Have been waiting for sofas to be delivered for months. Yes months... on a number of occasions I have had the unhappy experience of being left dangling on the phone to customer services at Worldstores. The staff are clueless or possibly their databases are clueless. Various delivery dates are quoted. I have been told on many occasions that the goods have been delivered and signed for when they haven't. That they are in a warehouse waiting despatch. That they have been lost in transit. You name it I have been told it. The customer service team must have a bunch of random scripts from which they can choose various scenarios as nothing I am told is true. I am still waiting for sofas to be delivered. According to Worldstores my sofas have been delivered to the address at least 10 times already. When I phone to ask what is going on they ask me what items from the order have been delivered as they don't know! (If I could I would have given no stars.)

Totally appalling, incompetent service. I ordered 5 items, nearly 2 weeks ago, that claimed to be "next day" delivery. When it came to select the delivery date, next day wasn't available, and the only other day I could be in for the delivery was nearly 2 weeks on. Fair enough, I understand that next day is not always possible. But since I have waited nearly 2 weeks and have selected, from their choice, a date for delivery, then I assumed the items I had ordered would have been delivered on time! NOT THE CASE! Out of the 5 items I ordered only 1 came on the correct day. ONE! It is a bed frame with NO mattress! Ridiculous! By 4pm I was concerned that something had gone wrong with the delivery, so I phoned the office. I spoke to a very nice man who said that yes, all 5 of my items were on record to be delivered that day. So I waited. More hours past and still NOTHING! I wasted an entire day waiting on 4 items that were not been delivered. What is the point of the "select a day" delivery option if nothing is going be delivered that day? The next day 3 out of my 5 items had been delivered. When I contacted them regarding the other 2 it turns out that they had not left the depot yet. Farcical, ridiculous, appalling service.

To begin it was good, mattress was delivered on correct date. When we went to move the mattress upstairs realised it ws the wrong one (and a £40 cheaper one).
Called up, 20 mins to get through. I had to send photographs. Duly did so, got a response that they'd contact me to rearrange delivery. No calls, emails to chase, empty apologies and promises. Next day I get a phone call at work to state they will be collecting mattress within an hour, said not to bother as no one home. Called world stores who said they'd also be delivering the new one the next day. Advised again I would be at work nd that they were supposed to call to rearrange not just show up. Also, ridiculous I'd be expected to take two extra days off work after their error!
By this point I had had enough. Advised I simply wanted the bed collecting and a refund issued. They told me in that case I'd have to 'reject the bed' from the couriers. Having already told them I'd be at work and can they not just call the couriers to tell them not to bother even going as no one is there. Apparently theyre unble to contact the couriers even though it was over 30 hours before they were coming out and when the couriers called me the next day to tell me they were on the way they told me that they could well have been contacted by world stores.

The bed was eventually collected 8 days ago and still no refund.
Tip for worldstores email too, don't tell me to have an incredible day when I am clearly livid then send me an automated feedback wanted email. Talk about a wind up...

If I could give zero stars I would. Please dont shop here PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE. Save your money save your time. Customer service HAHAHAH There isn't any. They take your money send the stuff even if its wrong then avoid you.

Sadly my post is much the same as everyone else's! We ordered on 4th Oct for a next day delivery. 5 days later no delivery so I contact them. Was told 1-2 weeks delivery as it's busy. 1-2 weeks go by and still no furniture set. Contact them again and told 1-2 weeks. We do then get the delivery and everything was great till my partner builds the drawers and finds 4 damaged parts. We contact Workstires who offer replacement furniture set or replacement parts for damaged items. Given we had to wait so long for furniture we decided to go with replacement parts in 5 days. That 5 days have now gone to 1-2 weeks twice to it's now being dispatched within 2 weeks from supplier do that will probably end up taking another 6 weeks as they come from the Far East! We've been offered £30 as a gesture of goodwill but have been told if we want to return everything that we need to dismantle it all! DISGRACEFUL and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! It just goes to show that cheaper doesn't mean you're getting a better deal!

Well well well, wish I had read this before my boyfriend got me items from them. Got an email saying delivery would be today been up since 6:30Am, took out old sofas, wardrobe, bedside cabinets and up to now nothing. So I decided to call, the lady tells me they I will not be having any deliveries today as one part of the items is missing, so if I had not called, I would have been indoors all day cause their email states 7am_ 7pm delivery slots. Now I decide to call again, I get a gentleman who tells me I had my items delivered at 6:30( at this time I was removing the old furniture out of my flat)I tell him that's impossible and he says he will call the courier services. He rings back and tells me exactly what the woman had told me.
Guess what my house is a mess no sofa, clothes on the bed.
To make it worse they are not remorseful at all they have the audacity of talking to their client's like they want.
We pay for his items, they are not free, respect your customers worldstores. Do not play with our emotions. If there was 0 rating, I would have gone for that.

Never go to this dreadful, nightmare company. I ordered a bed for my 80 yr old mum, Worldstore delivered the order the next day, the delivery was all wrong - headboard missing, and bed wasn't what i ordered. I phoned them and sent them the photographs. They took long time delivering the correct order and still no headboard. I ring them up almost every day, and still i have no headboard. They staff tell me they will deliver such and such day, and no one turns up 3 times now. I tried to cancel the order twice and they failed to pick it up. Over a month i am still waiting for the correct order and tried to cancel it. THEY ARE BUNCH OF CROOKS AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN

Will never buy from this company again. Ordered 2 beds and 2 mattresses over 2 weeks ago. They were due to be delivered 2 days following my order date.
Took the day off work to wait - no phone calls. No delivery.
Called up customer services and delivery rebooked for 5 days later.
Another day off work waiting for my delivery - only one mattress turns up despite assurances from customer services that it would all be delivered.
Contacted customer services again, no one able to explain why my order was not delivered is its entirety.
Another day booked off work, 2 weeks after I was meant to have my order delivered - called customer services and finally given at time window between 3-4pm. Nothing turns up. Call customer services again, no explanation given just that the driver has gone 'AWOL'. Immensely frustrating, demand to speak to the manager and delivery rebooked for following day with assurances given that everything will be delivered. They were unable to give me a time frame.
Today - after 4 phone calls I had 2 beds delivered at 7pm. One mattress still outstanding. I was assured by the manager that 2 vans would arrive in the afternoon to complete my order. Appalling service. Despite assurances no call back given from customer services to explain where my mattress has been. Was only told that the mattress 'wasn't put on the van'. Customer services said they would call the depot and call me back with update. I am still waiting.
Do not use this company. Absolutely appalling service. I will never use them or World Stores again.

Ordered two divans and mattresses and they didn't arrive on specified day. Apparently courier had left a card as we weren't in which was rubbish as NO card. Called customer services and eventually after over 10 minutes spoke to someone... who was apologetic. Unfortunately my boys had to sleep on the floor for a few days as these were new beds for new house... not impressed!

Payment taken from bank but NO goods received...

Divans delivered a few days later (another day off work waiting for delivery). The courier couldn't manage the beds so myself and the man laying my kitchen floor had to carry them in and set them up!

The feet were missing from one of the divans and despite emails dating back to the 12th of Feb when I first notified them I am still waiting... also one of the drawers was broken...

I refuse to call them as I think it is unacceptable to be holding on for 10 - 20 mins to speak to an operator.

The day before yesterday the courier rang to say there would be a delivery of the replacement part the following day... guess what... NO delivery! And NO delivery today either... take note WORLDSTORES your Customer Services is appalling and you need different couriers!

IF I ever get the feet and replacement drawers I will update this... I could write a book!

Very. Ad service no one answer the phone still on the phone now writing this review. Bad delivery they text me twice saying they left 5am im still waiting 6.30pm

I ordered a mattress with Mattress World (subsidiary company for World Stores) with free delivery. It did not arrive on the given date and I could not get through on the phone line to the courier or Mattress World therefore I e-mailed both courier and supplier and they informed me that it was still in the warehouse in England because I lived in an "extended area" (bearing in mind I live in Central Scotland not an island in the middle of the ocean!). I was informed a new delivery date would be re-arranged and I would be contacted soon. Days later I still hadn't heard from them so I again contacted them via e-mail and was informed that the mattress has been lost in transit by the courier now and I could be refunded or re-order. I chose to be refunded as by this time I had had enough. Days later I was informed a refund would be credited to my account within 3 to 5 working days - 6 working days later no refund had been made so I again e-mailed them complaining and a day later I was notified by a "confirmation of refund" e-mail but again it would take 3 to 5 working days to show in my account. I raised a dispute with my credit card company against World Stores and only today I received my refund. I ordered this mattress on 6 November 2014 and it took me until today (26 November 2014) to draw a line under this. Don't touch this company - they are a joke!

I think this must be one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I ordered three items, 2 sets of drawers and a bed all in stock. Day of delivery arrived, and I didn't receive the promised call an hour before delivery, the delivery men told me that they had called multiple times but I hadn't answered, I checked my mobile, no calls at all, so clearly the delivery men lie. The delivery man then told me he couldn't put the items in a room of my choice as he had hurt his back, I said no problem, I wasn't expecting him to take them to a room of my choice, but he felt the need to tell me a further two times all about his bad back, He then dropped one of the items, no apology, no offer to check if the item was ok, just wanted me to sign so they could get of. Thankfully the item was fine. He then told me they didn't have the bed, and didn't know when it would be delivered but the company would call me. This was Saturday, we are now on Tuesday and I have heard nothing from them. I have tried to call them multiple times, finally got through and the moment I mentioned a refund was cut off. They also haven't answered my email. I have now started a paypal claim to get my money back. I really would advise that you stay away from this company they are truly awful. If I could have left no stars I would.

IF I could put 0 stars i would!
I am 37 weeks pregnant. Ordered a mattress as ours has had its day. Had confirmation the delivery was for today *******. Delivery between 7am-8pm driver would contact about an hour before.
This morning - got up at 6.30 stipped the bed and got rid of the mattress.
9.05 van driver called - be with me in 20 mins.
Arrived at 9.30. So far - amazing service -
Van driver came to door - ''sorry mattress isn't on the van, its ticked on the sheet but its not on the van! Customer service will contact you''
Customer service hasn't contact me
I phoned them - to be left on the phone over 40 mins and then cut off.
I emailed them.
They came back with - very sorry will contact the courier. They are in full knowledge I'm 37 weeks pregnant and have had the old mattress removed.
They come back with - it wont be today. They have between 7am and 8pm but they cant do it today.
They then come back with FRIDAY.
They think it is acceptable and reasonable to expect a woman 37 weeks pregnant to sleep on the floor! That is the type of company Worldstores is. That is what you will be dealing with. No attempt to do everything they can to get the mattress here - which is with the courier - they expect a pregnant woman to sleep on the floor for 3 nights without so much as a second thought. Absolutely disgusting company AVOID AVOID AVOID see the reviews on trustpilot aswell. This company is possibly the worst company out there!

Ordered a divan base and money came out of PayPal account immediately but I did not receive a confirmation order email from Worldstores. Phoned up Worldstores three days later (was 16th in queue) and was told their email system wasn't working, however was reassured by Janet that the order had been placed and would be delivered the next day and I would receive a phone call within an hour of delivery. No delivery... Called Worldstores again at 5pm (tenth in queue this time) and was told by James that there was a problem with the suppliers and that the base wasn't even in stock! No explanation as to why I had been told it was going to be delivered that day and had taken the day off to wait for nothing. Was offered 10% of the base price to go towards another item, however declined as they obviously wouldn't know the truth if it came and bit them on the backside.

I stupidly ignored the feedback I had read prior to ordering about the company, but please go ahead and order if you want to have your day wasted waiting in for non existent items to be delivered.

DON'T BOTHER!

This company is an absolute nightmare.

They FAILED to deliver my bed, and this, more than 8 MONTHS after my initial order!
I recently decided to cancel my order as Worldstores were unable, once again, to give me a new shipment/delivery date or explain the real reason for this long and unacceptable delay.

Their lack of communication and follow up on orders is TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL and their customer service really needs major improvements:. Waiting time to talk to customer service is regularly 30 minutes!. Not only are there no updates on orders but their website order tracking system doesn't work! USELESS. There seems to be no coordination and communication between the various offices, customer services, warehouses and managers.

As a customer, you feel helpless and you clearly get the impression that THEY DON'T CARE.
I have been ordering online for many years but this is the WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had.

So, save yourself the time, hassle and frustration and find a reliable source for your furniture...

Hi,

I hardly write reviews unless the service was too bad or too good, this was one of the worst service I ever dealt with.

I have ordered a wardrobe from Worldstore, to be honest it was not my first choice but I got it because it said NEXT DAY delivery. I had to take unpaid day off to wait for it and arrange a paid person to assemble it for me. However, around 3pm I have not received anything. I called them and they said I will not get it until Christmas (Also they can not be sure that will happen). The supplier have a problem, but it is still saying on the website (Next Day Delivery), customer service confirmed they knew about the problem 48h ago but still nothing happens.

I truly believe they are doing this purposely to misleads the customers and then you accept the delay. BE CAREFUL

I have not even received an email about the delay, I knew about it when i called. POOR POOR POOR.

Please don't use this company; you will not see your product and when you are refunded, they will keep the delivery charge. Ironic, but sadly true.

Ordered a sofa bed. It never arrived and still have not received the refund after 3 weeks. They take your money and run. JUST DO NOT DO IT. I MEAN ORDER WITH THIS COMPANY.

We ordered a sofa with next day delivery because we needed it for New Years. The website said two were left in stock. The day after ordering we had an email saying they had a problem with their website so our order hadn't gone through. We made another order straight away although we were told the sofa was now out of stock, and because we needed it urgently decided to order a different colour. Two weeks and over 8 hours on the phone to them (expect at least 20 minutes waiting time anytime you call, average is closer to half an hour) later we still haven't had our sofa but we were charged for it twice! They are friendly on the phone but every time they promised to call us back, email us confirmation etc, we had to call them again because it just wouldn't happen, and each person we spoke to would give different excuses contradicting each other (not in stock, system problems, sent to wrong warehouse, was never in stock). Needless to say we won't use any company in this group again (which includes achica.com, worldstores.com, Casafina.com, Kiddicare.com and sofasworld.co.uk)

I ordered a divan set and headboard for my disabled mother who was going to be retiring from working abroad and coming to live with me. I ordered the bed on June 19th and set delivery for June 28th (money left my account June 19). June 28th "can't deliver bed, rescheduled for 30th". Annoying and inconvenient especially for my mother who was in a hotel. June 30th, headboard arrives only. Redelivery promised for 4th July... you guessed it, text saying "can't deliver today" and redelivery set for 7th. It is now the 8th and my mother is still in a hotel and has had to spend her day re-buying a bed from an actual shop. This company is a TOTAL joke. Don't waste your time or money. We've called to cancel the order and get a refund and they say that can not find our order in their system and claim the order number (that is in their confirmation email to me) doesn't exist! I'm absolutely livid. They need to be investigated Panorama style. STAY AWAY from this shady company. We've had 2 weeks from hell. Happy Retirement Mum!
