This website is organized and efficient and it really saves a lot of time in making bibliography. However, I found some of the categories to be a bit confusing. For instance, I needed to cite a book I found through a database but easybib didn't provide that information for me. This is just a minor irritation from an otherwise thorough and helpful website.
I used to use this website back when it wasn't plagued with advertisements everywhere. Now, you can't even navigate through the website without having to click X on multiple pop-up ads. Tried using an ad-blocker, but it blocks access to the site until you turn it off. I would definitely recommend using another citation website than this greedy $#*! company

Tip for consumers:
Never use it unless you like hurting yourself physically or mentally
This website used to be alright before the age of Chegg, when all it was, was a bibliography generator. Now the site is clogged up beyond repair, with ads covering most of the screen and the website chugging any computer down to 2 frames per second. Even directly connected to the best modem I own, the site runs like it's on dial-up. Use NoodleTools or literally anything else. Not even mentioning that this site is recommended for children and it is advertising cannabis.
Easybib doesn't let you cite more than one thing at once, and it's a total pain in the $#*! because of how many ads there are. Better than Manual Citation, grateful it exists, but wish it was more efficient.
I uploaded a 3 page article review for analysis. The numerous resulting recommendations/suggestions were not US standard English spelling and unfortunately, the system offered improper subject/verb agreement. I wanted accurate feedback, but instead, I'm having to critique a service that fails to provide.
Tip for consumers:
Do not opt to use the recommended corrections.
Used to be a decent site, but now virtually everything is behind a pay wall that doesn't even work. I tried upgrading since the only citations you can get for free now are MLA, and then the whole site became infuriatingly unusable. I can no longer access my citation list, and every time I click something on the site, I get bounced back to the page asking me to input my credit card information for the easybib plus free trial (which I already filled out). Customer service is no help at all. Save your time, money and much frustration by using literally any other citation generator site. Heck, creating the citation manually would be easier at this point than using this garbage site.
I used EasyBib in the years preceding their acquisition by Chegg for my undergraduate and both my graduate thesis and thought it was a great service.
Now I find the site completely unusable. There are so many ads that are all so badly configured that it's impossible to even use the website, it's a time suck, a headache and a quick way to get vertigo with all of the simultaneously playing ads jumping around the page. Truly a terrible experience, I would rather find an old APA guide and hand configure citations than ever have to go on this site again.
It's literally more ad than website. Between the permanent ads and videos surrounding the site and the forced interaction ones after ever citation, this website is the most irritating one I've ever used. It was perfectly fine a few years ago but it's just utter trash now. It frequently deletes my lists, won't load, and crashes all the time. Please fix this, so many students are suffering because of it
Easybib used to be a great resource to use when citing sources, but the quality has gone downhill drastically. The page is packed with more ads than actual site content and they make you interact with the ads before you can cite sources. If that isn't gaining success then selling out I don't know what is.
I have been using easybib to cite my essay for about two years. Easybib in general isn't user friendly anymore. To cut it short, easybib used to be "Plug and play. Now easybib is "Plug and pray!". Instead of putting in a link. I have to scroll to find an option that is suitable for a Youtube link. Not good! At least they've turned down the adds after people have requested them too which is nice. Honestly somebody should put up a website that should be called "Easybib old UI". That would be the REAL life saver here.
I have used this before and tolerated the high number of ads, but recently, so many of them appear on the screen that the website can not even function without buffering for at least 7-8 minutes. It is frankly useless at this point.
I used to love easybib! It was my high school self's best resource, but now as a college student, it's unusable. The ads are annoying even without the 30 second ad watch. The site itself is completely corrupted. It has gotten so bad that it crashes my computer anytime I want to use it.
Stinks. Can't get a paper done because of nonsense ads blocking everything. You know guys, some people are poor and trying to go to school to better themselves and your blocking the way by ripping of those who have no money. It's either block the site with dumb ads to where you can't get any work done or stop ads by take money from a poor kid whose every penny is put into college so that he can better himself. SHAME ON YOU!
EasyBib began as an excellent tool, one among many intended to keep track of academic references. Our school embraced it wholeheartedly. Then came the ads, then came sluggishness, and now it freezes and crashes. Cannot recommend any more!
Easybib used to be so easy to use. Now that chegg has bought it, it's swimming in ads. My computer crashes every couple of hours if the page is open for too long. Chegg is horrible, should never have bought the site.
Oh EasyBib. You used to be my one true love. I'd find you late in the night, and in my hour of need, you would save me from the horrors of manual citation. But alas. You have moved on to bigger and better things. I thought I was the girl of your dreams; your one true love, your one true passion. But now you have moved on to another. Namely, to a fiend named rampant advertisement. Even now, as a write this sorrowful tribute, I am waiting as my computer whirls away, straining all of its seven processors to churn out one measly citation while also handling twenty gaudy ads. I'm afraid this shall be our last encounter. I will fall reluctantly back into the arms of manual citation, as this drudgery is far better than experiencing the agony of dwelling on memories of our past late nights together. Farewell EasyBib. You were once a stellar partner, my one and only. But now, I am afraid to say, you are a mere shadow of your former self.
Easy bib used to be fine but this new update they have sucks actual $#*!. I'm trying to get one stupid citation done and it keeps making me watch a video over and over and it says the video will let me have free access for 48 hours. I've watched it 5 stupid times and no luck. Fix your $#*!ing website.
The website itself is a pain to navigate, with a ridiculous amount of ads being thrown in my face every 5 seconds. It forces you to watch a video or subscribe to it in order to use more than one citation, and it's incredibly slow. It takes my school laptop (which is the only thing I use the website for) 10 minutes to do 3 citations, with my high speed home wifi struggling to get it to run well also. Overall just a garbage website.
Today I felt violated by the necessity to interact with ads on EasyBib. Not only does it force you to narrow down your gender and age demographic to more accurately tailor ads to your preference, but you must interact with those ads in order to continue citing. This is ridiculous and not all of us can afford/care enough to purchase an ad free citing website. In short, please kindly take yourself to a radioactive sewage disposal and baptize yourself in the contents of your own website, EasyBib.
Sincerely, a college student
I used to utilize Easybib for all of my assignments in the past, which had become a vital resource for my papers, however, with the enforcement of their advertisements. Easy Bib has made it where you can even properly use their website for using their citations. Every attempt I make to watch the advertisement, the website crashes or remains on a blank page without playing the damn advertisement. Thanks, Easybib for nothing.
Just a hot mess. Create a project in APA... nah, it'll just switch to MLA if you're not looking. Got a project open? So what, your next citation will be its own project you'll then have to import into the... umm, open project. Time to punt this program and pull the pieces of keyboard out of my forehead.
So many ads that I can't even use the site. 27 ads on one page, seriously? I know they need money but just make us watch one ad per citation or something. Your ads take more priority than the actual citation process.
Seriously, spare yourself the time and money. It used to be my go-to website for all my citation needs because it used to be light on the ads and free--which was awesome. As of late, it has become a subscription site for everything but MLA and is so ad-heavy that if you have a paper due in an hour, you won't get it done (okay, that's a bit of an embellishment, but it is SO slow).
Tip for consumers:
Use an ad-blocker if you absolutely must use this site to cite in MLA.
Easybib has grammar checking and plagiarism checking, which I wanted. But the website is quirky, and offers no support, hints, instruction, or help. The most frustrating thing is that the grammar check keeps skipping back up to the first page, and I can't figure out how to stop it. Easybib is now a part of Chegg, supposedly. I asked for help there via email, but got no response.

As I prepare for my second stint as a doctoral student in the Fall, I realize that life is now easier for students with sites like EasyBib. According to my friend Judy, who told me about this, EasyBib compiles your bibliographies and citations for you. Having spent now too many years in school, I cannot tell you the number of hours I've spent formatting for APA and compiling my bibliographies - particularly when I've got several dozen up to a hundred or so sources. Not to mention how many times I've nearly gone crazy. I'm a fan of paying for convenience - and if I can relieve the stress of the bibliography, I might just employ these guys soon.
Automatic works cited and bibliography formatting for MLA, APA and Chicago/Turabian citation styles. Now supports 7th edition of MLA.
