This website is organized and efficient and it really saves a lot of time in making bibliography. However, I found some of the categories to be a bit confusing. For instance, I needed to cite a book I found through a database but easybib didn't provide that information for me. This is just a minor irritation from an otherwise thorough and helpful website.
I used to use this website back when it wasn't plagued with advertisements everywhere. Now, you can't even navigate through the website without having to click X on multiple pop-up ads. Tried using an ad-blocker, but it blocks access to the site until you turn it off. I would definitely recommend using another citation website than this greedy $#*! company
I tried to retrieve my password--eight times, and no responding email. I tried emailing their customer service department, but I couldn't send a message; I had to respond to their canned questions. I tried cancelling the account--good luck with that.
Avoid this service at all costs, or you'll be locked in forever.
It literally caused my computer to shut down. It gives me millions of ads that make my laptop slower and some of the ads don't even load because it's so freaking much. I have to use it for school and it's just a freaking burden to use even if it helps me cite my work.
I tried this easybib website to help me with my college essay but I can't download my paper every time I go on there it takes me to the tree 3 day trial page. It says I'm a plus customer. But it won't let me do anything on the website. Help.
I keep trying to write papers in chicago but it simply changes to MLA without me asking it to. I got a pro subscription, signed in, and it continues to bother me to get pro. I mean, that's such a basic mistake. Clearly they just don't even care anymore. Garbage.
I have used Easybib for years, and it has always been an excellent tool--enough that I purchased the premium to bypass the adds. When Chegg absorbed Easybib the format changed, but some of that is expected. However, the takeover was in 2016. As of the new and recent updates: It rarely populates information appropriately, APA reverts back to MLA with each citation (although all of my projects are set to APA only), and it is barely functional in Chrome, Fox, or IE. Although I have patiently waited for the chaos of Chegg to quiet as with any transition, there has been minimal movement on my reports to the service team, other than to tell me everything is a "known issue." I don't have the time or energy to chase all these issues... I will be moving on, and highly recommend that students looking for professional citations look elsewhere.
The program is difficult to use when editing a paper. The product is expensive and very hard to cancel subscription in a timely manner. You are not able to cancel over phone unless you text and the customer service is not restorative or use best practices. Basically the product is weak and cause more issues than it is worth.
Even though this website is very useful they feel the need to hide the simplest of things. For example I just wanted to find the poems part of the website and they hid it in the journals section. They need to make this improvement immediately to save time and possibly money.
If you have time for you computer to load all the ads just to be able to type stuff in then this is the website for you. There are so many ads on this website it makes it nearly impossible to do anything
This website is a terrible citation source. The website lags and stutters almost everywhere you go, and the ads pop up each time you so much as move on your screen. While I'm on the subject of the ads, the ads are at almost every corner of the screen, and for the pop-ups, they block your entire screen and don't allow you to do anything until they're done. The lagging is a huge problem, the website almost never runs smoothly, and when it does, its very brief and doesn't make a difference. I don't recommend this site.
Easybib is the best, it allows you to make a bibliography in a second and export it to any writing document in a second. There are many other benefits to it but the list would be too long (chuckle) (chuckle).:>:>:>:>:>:>.
Thank You Easybib,
You're the best
I really haven't used the website since college, and I was disappointed by what I found when I came back. The website is super glitchy, full of useless ads (it says to use it for free you only have to watch the ad once every 48 hours but it appears every hour for me). Not to mention, not as user-friendly as it used to be! It used to be such a simple platform, and now it has all these additional steps that add so much time to the process. So annoying.
My wife tried the 3 day free trail and we cancelled in that time and was still charged $9.95 on 3/17/2019. I tried contacting BIBME.org for refund and was sent to *******@chegg.com numerous time with nothing but a run around. I finally was giving a supervisor Keith Martineau *******@chegg.com that I was told would get this settled and all he did was pass the buck back to BIBME.ORG and *******@chegg.com. Then today I found even after cancelling the service was charged again today 4/17/2019 for a service they say they can't find her account.
I noticed a charge from Chegg on my CC having never used them before. I eventually found out that Chegg now owns easybib, got hold of my CC details and has been charging me under their name, Attempting to close my account or delete my data has been fruitless so far.
I needed to create chicago style citations for a paper, so I decided I would get the free trial to be able to do this. All of a sudden, I was unable to cite anything, as it said I needed to upgrade. I already did that, so I figured that I could sign out, and after signing out there was no way for me to sign back in. I couldn't click on anything, so I decided it would be easier to just manually do them. What a waste of time.
Have used Easy Bib for over 8 years, and kept all of my grad school and teaching references there safely... until now.
My account was cancellled for no reaason, when signed up again nothing works. Trying to cite a chapter instead of a whole book is impossible... just leaves page without saving any date. Search is limited to recent editions. No way to keep the citation format I want to use every time. Just horrible... advertises itself instead of working for you, even after you pay for "plus" service. Cancelling myself this time... any recommendations for a professional bib service now?
This site is a neat idea, and could potentially be incredibly useful. That's the only reason I didn't give it a 1. Why did I give it a 2? It's way too complicated, it's hard to work with, and there are tons of ads that not only clog up your work space, but also make loading a problem. Maybe it should be named "Hardbib," because the formatting is the worst I've seen. Every time you click on anything, a new set of ads come up. If you have mediocre internet connection (and most people do), than I don't just not reccomend this site- I beg you to just do the sitation yourself, however hard that may be.
I have no problem with ads being present. What I do have a problem with is when there are so many that are refreshed so frequently that it makes using easybib incredibly slow, makes everything I try to do on my computer slow while easybib is open, and makes for just an overall irritating experience, as I'm just trying to get my sources cited for an essay. I wish I'd looked into other sites to use much sooner, and saved myself the headache. I don't think I'll continue to use easybib, and I would encourage others to look into different sites to use as well, because I wouldn't wish the sort of frustration caused by easybib on anyone.
Used to be a good useful website for easy, straight-forward citations. Now you can't even use it with adblocker, and you have to pay for a membership to even use APA format. Terrible, greedy website now. Will never use again. And I recommend you don't either.
Used to use this site for sources. Now i have to disable ad blocker. And bam i get redirected to a $#*!ty fake adobe website. Thanks easybib, ill add you to the list of sites for my adblocker to block now. Dip$#*!s.
They have so many ads it crashes the site, and you can't fix it with an adblocker. The services they offer are valuable, but if the price they ask for (ad revenue) crashes the site and renders the services useless, then what use is the site itself?
Easybib is so mother$#*!ing stupid. It thinks adblock is on when I've disabled it. I think they are doing this so you have to pay so they pretend you have adblock on to scam you. Used to be good but now its some scummy bull$#*!
The only good thing i have to say about EasyBib is that its awful user experience made me learn how to do MLA citations by myself because the site is completely unusable. I used to use EasyBib exclusively for over 10 years, now the site has at least 4 ads on the screen at a time and of course refuses to work if it detects adblock. I don't know whether it has to do with Chegg buying them or what, it's become atrocious. Because of the dozen obnoxiously obtrusive ads and popups, my macbook's poor little GPU slows to a standstill and overheats the moment i type "easybib.com" into the URL bar and hit enter. The site is so unusable, it's genuinely hilarious.
If you have to cite something, you are much better off citing manually.
Avoid EasyBib like the plague!
Tip for consumers:
BAHAHAHAHAH no tips. Get out while you can.
I had to cite 15 sources for a standard research paper so I set aside around 25 minutes or so to cite all of them on EasyBib. Instead, it took me OVER 90 MINUTES. So slow and a million ads. Pointless.
Based on this video Easybib used to be better. Click on the link I put, or go to youtube, search "How to Cite a Website MLA" click on the that's by Andy Isom.

I use the free version of Easybib and it's always worked pretty well for me. I've used it for writing English papers, history papers, and pretty much any other papers I write(usually MLA format). The reason I put 4 stars instead of five, though, is because often I have found that Easybib can't find the information for citations and neither can I, and also because sometimes MLA format can be shown in slightly different ways and Easybib sometimes writes it in a way slightly different from how the teacher/professor wants it. Other than minor problems, it's been a great resource for me and saves me a ton of time.
Automatic works cited and bibliography formatting for MLA, APA and Chicago/Turabian citation styles. Now supports 7th edition of MLA.
