“Really bad customer service”

I have to say after today I'm seriously looking for another energy supplier and I will be putting this review on all the review sites I can... This morning Saturday August the thirteenth I woke up put the water on and it was charging me day rates in the off peak period(this was 07.00) as I know because I budget very well and make sure I don't use what I don't have to... I then what's apped Eon at 07.26 no reply so at 12.20 I messaged them on Facebook and Twitter again no reply it is now 16.33... How can a company have three portals to contact them and when you do it's over NINE HOURS and still no reply. Over four hours for Facebook and Twitter this is the worst example of customer services I have ever experienced... Charging me double the price, I reach out to you and your customer service and nothing... I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy

Back in 2019 they gave me a bill for 930 pounds said it was my overusage after refusing to pay for months and arguments. They gave me the final actual which was 400 pounds. Few weeks ago they they send me a bill for 43 pounds. And said it was form 2019. Today I got a letter referring me to debt collect agency for 53 pounds. All I can advise to whomever reading this please stay away from this supplier... they will drag u down to hell

EON Energy have been supplying us our energy bills late on purpose in order to charge us with 'Late Payment Fees'. Although we pay the bills immediately as received, they still add this fraudulent charges. Apart from their high energy tariffs and their terrible customer service, EON Energy ripped us off as their clients and didn't even consider our dispute when explained. Fortunately, we checked our bills carefully and realised the way they operate to take advantage of us. We feel utterly scammed by EON and would never dare to recommend them as an energy supplier for anyone. Fortunately, it is the last time they scam us as we have switched to OVO today.

Tip for consumers:
If you have EON Energy as your energy supplier, check your invoices very well. They send you the invoices late in order to charge you with an unjustified and indisputable 'Late Payment Fees'. Also compare their energy tariffs and 'Total charges for this invoice' to realise their high tariff and their ways to scam their clients.

Had 210 pounds credit on electric meter. Took photos as i was leaving my old house literally as i was leaving. Eon refuse to issue a refund saying sometimes there is a slight delay on the meters. I understand there might be a slight delay so might not be totally correct down to the penny but not 210 pounds wrong. I would not reccomend this company to anyone had way too much trouble with them

Terrible company . Pass you from one department to another constantly and never reply or call back.

Takes over an hour to get through, and then you are left on hold until you lose the will to live and hang up, therefore avoiding dealing with you. Had an engineer booked in for Monday to fit an isolator. The Friday before I get a call from Eon saying that was just a request (err, no mate, it was a confirmed booking, I even had a time slot)!,, and offered an alternative date of a month later. No apology, just an attitude that stunk. Have now been hanging on to the complaint department for 70 minutes. I wish I had never switched to Eon, it has been a nightmare…no wonder their complaints are so high.

It is almost impossible to communicate with them. Oh yes they provide a "contact us" section, but when you click on it all you get is FAQs and a number of topics which in many cases simply do not correspond to the reason why you want to contact them. Yes there is a telephone number, but that only operates on weekdays and even then during ridiculously restricted hours which for working people aren't convenient.

Eon Solar are totally useless. Quoted back in Feb 2022 for an install that I was told would be in early summer. Finally, I was told that it would be Aug. Scaffolders put scaffolding up the day before and damaged my guttering. On the day of installation I was told that they don't have the kit and that they needed to order it! Finally after three months of their Customer Complaints department not doing a thing despite numerous calls I managed to contact the original manager and he got the scaffolding removed - no repair to my guttering in sight.
Oh yes and still no solar, or even feedback to confirm when it will be installed.
I'll be contacting Ofgem re this as I want my guttering repaired, compensation for the missed savings of solar and the effort that I have had to go to in order to get a response.
I strongly recommend avoiding this company, especially as they outsource the actual installation. Whats the point in dealing with useless middlemen?

I have begged Eon to come and read my gas meter which they have repeatedly refused to do?! Endless emails telling me to send in readings when the meter is perfectly accessible from the front of the property, and due to harassment within the neighbourhood I am unable to read the meter myself, yet they refuse to do it? Your Energy Utility company only monitors the amount you are receiving, they don't actually supply it themselves, they just own the meter and monitor your usage so they are failing on the very thing they are meant to be doing which is monitoring my usage?! For the amount these companies are leaching offtheir customers I am pretty sure they can afford to have someone read the meter.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Over an hour on hold each time I call, now totalled to over 8 hours on hold. They are charging me over £42 a month based on a smart meter reading for AN EMPTY PROPERTY with no appliances in it whatsoever. And they cannot tell me why. Just for comparison, I also run an occupied 10 room property for an average of £35 a month with a different energy company. EON is just the worst company ever.

Impossible to contact them by phone. When they finally answer, customer service reps are poorly trained and unhelpful. On the plus side it appears there is no downside in simply not paying one's bill.

Scum of the earth, fleecing customers whilst taking record profits. We're all paying for the bosses new yacht whilst people are starving and going cold because of companies like this. Greedy and disgusting breed of people.

Due to a fault with the meter I have been left 4 days and nights without electric,. It means every night is it in the cold and dark and cant watch telly or cook food, I have contacted them by email and phone and Facebook and twitter and they will not help

The faulty meter is MPAN is **************. The help desk on do nothing and avoid answering and say come back with more information so i give them more information and they do nothing. I am about to spend another night in the cold and dark and they show appalling customer service and simply mean when if they did something it is not necessary

Eon are a blooming joke. Can never top up my gas and electric with out hassle. The app is useless and the web site works for a little while then dosent work. Wish i could leave them but way energy is at the moment would be so hard to choose. I pay buy pay as you go and on a smart metre. I didnt even want to go on smart metre but got told i had to by eon. If you can stay as far away from eon as you can. Wish i had stayed with my old supplies with key and card metres

I'm absolutely appalled at the way our business has been treated! We paid a hefty £1,000+ deposit due to the previous tenant's unpaid bill, with the understanding it'd be refunded upon switching suppliers. It's been TWO MONTHS, and we're still waiting for our money!

Not only did EON attempt to pacify us by sending a cheque of £400 (incorrectly addressed) despite us settling all bills, but the communication has been abysmal. As a small business, we rely on every penny. Legal action is in the works, but we shouldn't have to resort to that.

We have been forced to continue this conversation with EON publicly and will continue to do so on every social and review based platform available aswell as consumer protection agencies until we have our due refund transferred to us IN FULL.

As a small business, every penny counts.
Resolve this IMMEDIATELY! We demand the respect and fairness we deserve.

This E. O. N NEXT making their own RULE, there are making my life misery with there constant tharrassing demanding and almost forcing me unwillingly to swith to their smart meter, I complaint about their behaviour to so many of them several times but the result still the same!
I always pay my bill on time even though its 4 times higher now.
Ofcom, watchdog, and media should really take note of this bully energy firm E. O. N NEXT!

All good until you contact them to get your money back. My direct debit was way too high, they wouldn't hear it. I told them I literaly uninstalled radiators, they still didn't think it was worth rducing my direct debit. After a few months of convincing them they finally understood, and I also asked for my credit to be paid back to me (didn't know it was possible before). After a month without any communication (because of a "technical error"), I am told it was refused and I now due a cheque in (hold tight) 21 working days. So here I am, waiting for their next excuse.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use it.

Till order solar cell they replied mail but after placing order they just draging. Committed for 4 to 6 weeks but after 4 months there is no reply for mails or calls. Don't go with brand name. There are lot of companies will do best that their name is not familer atleast need to match the commitment.

Tip for consumers:
Please go for some other companies who fullfill the promise / time line. Respond when calling custmer care. Get numbers from the reperentattives who are contacting for future use.

On Christmas eve 2020, Eon have decided to take a 2nd direct debit from my account without my concent and don't plan on refunding me until 29th December.
I was going to do my Christmas food shop today, but Eon have taken my last £100 so they have pretty much ruined my Christmas. To make it worse, I was hung up on twice when trying to call and get some answers, I am going to cancel my direct debit and leave asap, just think off all the thousands of people they've done this to on Christmas eve, and all the interest they will be profiting from from illegally taking money off their customers. I've never been so appalled and upset, feel utterly violated and robbed.

I was happy with the company up until the end after I needed to cancel my account as I was moving out of the country. Then they became the worst nightmare. I submitted a meter reading as they asked, but Abida from eon wasn't satisfied with any of the meter readings I sent. Instead of explaining what they were looking for, Abida just offered to estimate the reading. After four back or forth emails, I still don't have any explanations on what they were looking for.

don't expect too much of explanation from their staff.

They won't accept my offer to pay of a debt they say I owe for 500 pounds, it was a thounsand pound and I don't know how I can owe that much it I was pay has you go smart meter I know longer live at the property.
I have asked for a itemised bill to be sent to my new address, a month ago but they haven't sent it.
I have to pay 20 a month but they won't accept it, they want 43 a month

Them took the money from account after you clear the balance and when you call them they put you on hold and just said it is an error from sistem. Them don't talk with you. And said that you need to wait 10 working days or more. But if you have to give them money them speak and opened a claim but if you want to put a claim to them just keep you on hold

CROSS METERING ISSUE
Hi, I have been calling and emailing customer services at EON since August 22 about a GAS cross meter issue. I have been paying for someone else's consumption since December 21. I was promised it would be sorted at the latest four months (by December 22). Nothing happened! Fobbed off.
EON advised to contact Ombudsman in January 23, did this, the Ombudsman got involved. EON were given deadlines to resolve the cross meter issue and failed every time, excuse was other suppliers involved. This is the same building as both flats and same energy supplier. Written to everyone at EON by email, never got a reply, written to my MP as can't sell the flat until this is resolved.

Please take my advice and do not use these absolute thieves!

We've been with them nearly five years and have never ever had a single simple exchange with them.

Our first year they didn't bill us so we had loads of credit only when we requested this did they bill us and then tell us we owed them a shed load of money.

We managed to get money back from the ombudsman but I was just told over and over again it was our fault for not realising and it's our fault for working at home.

After this despite having a smart meter they claim it 'dropped off' and we were once again in debt to them and once again our fault their meter failed.

We ended up nearly £1000 in debt to them because of their failings and their only support was 'the debt team'.

We've consistently overpaid to get out the debt to move suppliers and now we have done this they are refusing to reimburse us our £500 credit because they have a random meter attached to our account that's not connected to us - but because they have closed the account with the meter open they won't refund us, they don't see our complaint as an emergency and my husband is calling daily to be told they are working on it while making no progress, we are nearly a month into this mess and I just want my money back and to never have to deal with these charlatans again.

They acknowledged this meter previously and told us we'd have no issues and now we are in a financial crisis with them holding our money.

Please please go anywhere else but here their service is shocking their rates are sky high and they are frankly absolute thieves and criminals.

My mother went in to a home in Nov 21, Eon continued to charge her direct debits, despite my providing meter readings and advising that the property was empty. Infact they increased the payment on two occassions. I have contacted them many times, I have complained many times. My oother died Jan 23 I advised Eon and requested a refund of the £1500 on her account which they had basically fraudlently taken, I provided a copy death certificate and provided all the information they requested. I have been promised a cheque twice, it is never sent. I contact them and thy once again request the same information I have provided several times previously. The staff are arrogant rude and frequently ignore emails. I have now contacted the ombudsman and intend to take on line court action, if the matter is not resolved, they are actuall that bad to deal with.

Tip for consumers:
Eon knock on your door under cutting other local suppliers, think.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. NO UPDATE TO SYSTEM, TOTALLY IGNORED AFTER SEVERAL PHONE CONVERSATIONS AND EVEN AFTER SENDING RECORDED DELIVERY LETTERS TO BE SIGNED FOR TO HEAD OFFICE.NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH PREVIOUS SUPPLIER

Massively scammers. My bills every month have huge differences with prices. I have no idea how they calculating. Now for one month i had to pay 320gbp. I forced myself to switch off completely gas boiler, apart from that it is bearly even used ive been charged for it 130gbp and i cooking like 3 times at week. Differences in prices are 100 or 200gbp and usage is almost simillar every month. I hope someone will take them down in future.
