Ordered an advanced Spanish course quite overpriced but wanted it. Was given a tracking number but from a NON USPS service. Tracking app could not find anything. I emailed them multiple times.their responses were vague which set off my alarm. Finally this morning I received email they're in contact with the shipper. A few minutes later I received a message on Amazon France they considered it lost in transit and were refunding the entire cost...so I'm unable to provide photos as it never arrived. I'm suspicious they never sent it in the first place. I don't trust nor respect them. Reading the many negative comments justifies my distrust.
They have a huge range of children's Books. Been buying from them a few times for my kid. And they were very usefull to boost his knowledge. I will continue to buy from them. Thank u Ergodebooks!

Very bad customer service. I have a strong feeling that they took my money and just never sent my order. And when I asked for a proof of shipment, here is what they said:
"Thanks for your email. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. Unfortunately, the tracking # is not updated with us for this order and we have already contacted our shipping department to contact the shipping company and get the tracking details. Meanwhile, we assume the item may be lost in transit since you have not received it. We would request you to"
Same story as everyone below, wish I have read the reviews before I ordered. No book showed up, no tracking number, no communication. Talked to a shady Indian on the phone, told me USPS lost my book? Offered a refund, I am convince they did not have the book and never shipped anything. The same book showed up again on their website, this time 3 times more expensive. These people should be out of business.
One of 2 things will happen - you will never get any package, or you will get a completely different book - very poor condition - and weeks after it should have been delivered. These people work by that old adage "there's enough people that I can screw over everyone one time."

This bookseller is a scam. Upon contacting them for a tracking number a week after my order processed, they did not provide one, only told me the shipping method I chose. Upon contacting them again another week later, they told me that my order appears to have been "lost in postal transit." It's 2017; to claim a good number of your customer's orders got lost in postal transit is absurd.
When contacting them for a refund, they claim their websites are down and can only issue a refund through Paypal. I have yet to receive my refund.
Delivery took forever - even though I had received 6 emails advising I would receive the book in the next 5 days.
On receipt - the book was used/second hand, though it was advertised NEW. Pages were folded, the cover was crushed - and there were dirty marks inside.
Also, the price I paid was much more that the price that is printed on the back cover of the book!
I am still waiting for a refund - they are yet to supply a return address! I believe their emails are processed by a robot and contain the same standard text.

Does not let you know that order was received and processing. So you dont know if there sending you the book, ( or just taking your money.) then out if the blue, the book ends up at my address, 14 days later when I no longer need it. Then they won't send a return shipping label or take it back without a restocking fee... and it was the sellers fault for not communicating if they even got the order.
I ordered a scarce JF book from them. They immediately charged my credit card. Then, the book never arrived. I inquired and they blamed me and said someone must have picked it up, like a neighbor. That is not likely. When I asked for tracking information, so that I could trace the shipment, they did not provide it. When I inquired again, they blamed the post office. So I asked for the tracking information again... still waiting. Do not trust your money or your book orders to them.

Do not order from this so called "Business". I ordered a set of dungeons and dragons rule books from their website and never received a confirmation number or tracking number. I called customer service on four different occasions and they told me they would e-mail me the confirmation number. That never happened! After that they had me go to their website to give them my e-mail address which I know they already had because they read it back to me on the phone. Needless to say, I never received any info. After that they started lying to me and saying there computers were all updating. Anyway, If you feel like cancelling a debit card and arguing with some strangers then buy books from here! I'm considering turning these guys into the better business bureau so no one else needs to be ripped off by these sociopaths. Don't make the same mistake I did!

I ordered a six-volume set of books. After waiting for 30 days and no delivery, I contacted the seller who claimed the order must have been "lost in transit", despite not being able to produce a tracking number to show that it had ever been sent. They then promised to "re-send" the item. When it arrived (another month later) it was ONE book out of the six volume set. So I waited 3 months total, only to get a fraction of what I ordered. Now I have to figure out how to get a refund from them, after the 30day refund window has passed... TERRIBLE
I ordered "2nd Chance" by James Patterson (as part of a series I was trying to collect). This seller sent me completely wrong book. Not same author, not even same genre. When I contacted him, he said he wanted pictures of incorrect item. I sent them to him. Then he said he could offer a "partial refund" (and apparently he doesn't even have the book I ordered). The "partial refund" would be 20%... off an item I didn't even order. I will not do business with this seller again.
It's too bad Amazon and Ebay allow this. The 'company' Ergode Books has tried to order books now 3x. From the start we found the reports. They've just gotten worse. AVOID as they will steal your book and refuse payment. They also sell ancient text books to college kids; awful people
Bought a rare book, no tracking nr. Provided, no book arrived, only the same lame email they send to everyone "product lost in transit, excuse for this postal mess", they offered to refund. The same old story - no book to sell, just using people money. And now this rare book is again for sale by them - red flag that they never posted it to me. How can Amazon still allow this fraudulent seller to freely scaming the customers after so many complains?
Ordered a four volume set of cataloging books for my job for $75. Took over a month to travel two states over. They sent the last volume only in poor condition, then tried to tell me different stories: a) you never ordered all of them; or b) sent you the whole set, if one is missing its because you lost it; c) you only ordered 3 of the four; and d) that the other volumes would come whenever they found them. Most of the communication was through email as they NEVER answer the phone. I asked for a refund and they promised to send a return address label. Neither one of those happened. So now, 4 months after the initial order, they have been sent a 48-hour notice to send an address label to get the book back or they forfeit it, and the money is being automatically refunded. (I ordered via Biblio.com, that's why the refund can take place. Biblio has been awesome at trying to make things happen from their side and keeping up communication.)

I tried cancelling but they said they shipped - apparently on Christmas Day. Still don't have the item after a month. Every attempt to contact them is met with a form letter. No progress, no rma, no refund, no tracking, no communication. I am out of my money and have no product. If it does show up I will refuse delivery.
Even Amazon can't get a reply from them. I hope they remove them. I also suspect a number of their reviews are fake to prop them up.

You order a book (I did so through ABE -- thought they screened sellers); Ergode sends you the wrong book; they say to wait until their "shipping department" issues an "RMA" so you can return wrong book and only then will you get a refund. Folks, you never get that return info, and P.S. you never get your money back either.
Any positive review must be written by the scammers.

Absolutely a joke! My order never arrived, they emailed me a tracking number but it was invalid/untrackable. I finally had to create a dispute with Paypal. Hopefully, I can have the refund soon. By the way, I bought the same book from a different vendor after waiting for this one for 3 weeks and it arrived just in a few days.
They advertised they had 5 copies of a book with photo. I bought the 5 copies. They cancelled 4 of my purchases. Took my money, then sent a different book.
This is a fraud operation. The "Customer Service" phone number was answered by someone who asked "What company are you calling?".
This is not a reputable bookseller, but a careless & deceitful company.
I ordered a large hardcover book from them, which cost $121. I contacted them three times and asked them to mail it in a box. I was willing to pay extra just to have it mailed in a box. They, however, sent to me in a think bubble envelope. The book arrived very damaged. But Ergodebooks could not care less -- and abebooks does not allow customer to review these scam artists.

He did receive it and then put it up for sale on his ERGODE Bookstore web site. He's extremely rude and a liar. Don't sell or buy anything from him. He needs to be stopped.
Do not buy from this company. They do not care about their customers at all. I am shocked at how bad their customer service has been - total BS every time I contacted them. I never received the expensive book I bought either.
In my opinion this is a scam book company. They list books that they do no have and never plan to ship. When there is a problem with an order, they will send a patent email response that has nothing to do with your order. They do not answer the telephone. I would advise that you consider other book companies, and definitely not this one.
I would give a less than zero stars review if I could. I placed an order for a book on August 9,2020 and still haven't receives the book. I have contacted their customer service several time and was promised that I would receive my order. Then they said they contacted their shipper who stated that all packages are billing delayed because of COVID. They then said that they would have their "concern team" contact me in 24-48 hours. That was 15 days ago.
Like the other reviews the book was not delivered and they refused to provide a tracking number. When I asked for a replacement they ignored my request for a tracking number, so I just requested a refund. They take so long to reply to emails and they never answer the phone.
Honestly, it is a very shady business, please order from any other company.
