I'd been going to a hair salon my entire 'gray' life. I'd spend between $150-$200 every 6 weeks. I started using eSalon over a year ago. Not only does my hair turn out exactly as I want it but it's saved me tons of money.
I was charged and recharged before i tried this product which was recommended by a friend Very disappointed. Colour is patchy And my hair feels bad. Regrowth back after one week.
I ordered demi permanent and am happy with the color and it has lasted longer than I expected! Usually red shades don't last long on my hair but this one did. Very good customer service. Easy to use, I have long fairly thick hair and one bottle was plenty for my hair. Not sure what others are doing to not get good results?!?! My one complaint is my hair feels drier than usual, but it is winter and a draught so that might be part of it. Would use again!
Just tried Esalon for the first time, and although the red didn't turn out as intense as I'd like, I'm sure we can figure out the right formula eventually. Dye process wasn't messy at all, and the smell was pretty neutral compared to some box dyes I've used in the past. Granted, I've been dyeing my own hair for over 22 years, so I'm not sure what some other people on here were expecting. Maybe the company is better with reds than some of the dark tones? At any rate, good stuff. Would definitely recommend.
I noticed SiteJabber does not list esalon.com as one of their business reviews so I wanted to review them in hopes that Sitejabber will pick them up. Esalon is by far the best, safest hair color product I have ever used. Trust me I have tried hundreds of them over the years. Never, not even the one time I decided to pony up the bucks for a salon job, has my hair been, fuller, shinier, healthier than since I started using esalon. I've been using esalon for a little over a year. I love the look and feel of my hair now as never before and I am 60 years old. While esalon is more expensive than most box colors it is far less expensive than coloring at a salon.

Be sure to include pictures on your first order and tell them exactly what you want. Every month (or however often you set up your delivery) you have an opportunity to make changes in your color because esalon custom mixes the color to the customer's preference. You'll love it.

I ordered hair color from esalon.com. When I answered their question about how often I color my hair, I was signed up for their auto delivery service unknowingly. I didn't receive an email or any other information about this. I received an email about 4 weeks later saying my new shipment had shipped and my credit card had been charged. I called to cancel and the CSR said I had signed up when I answered the question about how often I colored my hair. I never saw that on the screen. They said to return the order, but that I would still be charged for shipping. Of course, it was too late to cancel the shipment. Just wanted to let others know. What a nasty way to treat a new customer.
Cancelled my account prior to finding out I had a charge on my credit card for a shipment I never received. Their only solution was a credit (on an cancelled account?) or return of opened items for a refund. Kind of hard to return items that were never received in the first place. The only other option I am left with is to call Chase and file a dispute. Worst customer service, will not return to this company. Color is expensive and does not justify the expense.
Good luck trying to cancel your lifetime subscription of Ecolor! I was fine with the product itself, but the cost was too much! The company made it extremely difficult to cancel my subscription. I finally found the right buttons to click, only to find out I'm still being billed on my credit card. This is no way to conduct a business.
My initial color formula didn't quite cover my Greys enough but their customer service was awesome and after speaking to a color professional and Sending photos they tweaked my next formula and it was perfect. So much better than a salon trip every month

I ordered in early November, next week will be February. I was told I received my order in December when I complained. ESalon said they would send a complimentary replacement order. Buyer beware - I won't trust them again.

Tried this product, was not overly impressed, poor colour and coverage. Wrote it off as error on my part. Find they have kept my PayPal information and billed it more than twice the original amount for this inferior product. I looked at my PayPal account and find that, without my knowledge or authorization they made it an ongoing purchase which I have now canceled. BEWARE

I decided to try eSalon for a change. My first kit came in December and it didn't cover my gray hair. The second kit came and when I mixed it the became very hot then exploded. The mixture got the back splash, my cabinet, and my ceiling.
I can't get refund on the first kit and the instructions they set me to remove the stains didn't work. When I asked to speak a manager (after three phone calls) they told me one wasn't available and they wouldn't take down a message.

Been using this for over 3 years now, I get compliments on my hair all the time, I love the fact I don't have to go out to buy all the supplies, it is delivered to my door as I have decided how often to have it sent. I had to contact one time to get an adjustment, never had any issues with this company. I would and have recommended to several people!
While there was nothing wrong with the product itself, where this company lets itself down is with their poor customer service. Like too many British companies, they seem to have absolutely no concept of how decent customer service can actually increase their sales. I paid 11 euros for my initial hair dye, was told nowhere that this was an introductory offer, then when it was time to order the next one, was informed that it would cost 29 euros - so almost 3 times as much. When I commented about this to them, the same people who had been sending me fake friendly emails asking me to tell them what I thought of the colour, were now unresponsive. Truth be known, this should have been an opportunity for someone from their staff to communicate with me, and maybe convince me of why, even at the greater price, their service/product was worth it, but I got nothing. When I commented a second time, basically stating that their lack of communication meant that I would be unlikely to recommend them to a friend, I still got no response. A company with good customer service could have possibly kept me as a customer. Instead, I will never order from this company again.
UPDATE: Possibly because someone from esalon has read this review, I've just today received an email response to the very first message I had sent them 1 1/2 weeks ago, wherein they seem to be taking the advice I wrote in this review above. While their response came a bit too late for me to completely change my opinion, I do appreciate the effort, and have raised my rating from 1 star to 2. Perhaps they'll turn things around. I do hope so, because their overall concept is good if they can make it work.

I have used this product for 9 years approximately 20x a year. I know how to dye my hair. I dyed my hair in July the same way I always do. Second bottle of dye seemed warm/hot when I mixed it for the "ends" and exploded all over my bathroom. Hit the wall 9' feet away, stained the wall, my clawfoot tub and my oak flooring. Thank God I had left the room for a minute or it would have probably blown up in my face and blinded me. I contacted eSalon as I researched and saw this is a reoccurring problem with their product. They said all they could do is refund the cost of the kit. No help with repairs. Very cold, computer responses. They know this is happening and are not doing anything to protect their customers.

Used Esalon years ago, I think I used it wrong, should have only done roots, did allover! I just did my roots per intructions, easy! Start to finish 45 minutes! My highlights are still highlighting, gray completely covered. I was worried color wouldn't blend, match. Perfect natural match! I've been having my color done in a salon for many years, I will now be doing it myself. Love my stylist, and I will continue to use her for cut, etc. Thanks again!
I've been dying my hair for years. I've done mostly box dye but when I want something a little fancy I'll go to a salon. I've been floating between red and black all my life. Last year I've been coloring it black but it's been fading quickly. It had been a long while so my medium brown mixed with gray was very obvious so I ordered from esalon just to try it out. I wanted blue black. I got two bottles one for roots and one for ends. I followed the instructions and now have medium brown roots with barely any gray coverage and black ends. Obviously the root color was in correct and now I have a halo around my head. I canceled my order and now must wait to fix this mess. I wish I read the reviews first.

I was displeased with the color performance, i. E. did not cover grey hair and color looked brassy. I was informed that I would receive a credit and that NEVER happened.

I had one of the worst experiences with this company. I ordered the black color custom hair dye and left my hair with blotchy red patches this had to be a mistake by who ever mixed the dye but they will NEVER admit it. Yes, they did refund my money but it cost me 4x more to fix it. Never again! No

I used it twice and will not be using it any longer. It costs about three times as much as the store-bought color I used to use. Not much different in color quality and made my hair much much drier. I canceled my subscription and will be going back to my previous product.
I used esalon hair color, according to the information it was informed is long lasting color but its not true.
When you apply the color within a week the color is starting shows that need to redo.
I like the way they testing your hair color which the benefit of that when the color comes it appears same color of your hair. Good package.
If you use the hair color its not for cover grey hair. I have to cancel

My color arrived promptly in the mail. The color was perfect. The only challenge was the roots came out slightly lighter than the rest of my hair. It was only because I have a ton of grey grey grey hair. I believe I needed to leave the color on the roots longer. So, I contacted Mindy at esalon. She was so gracious, was willing to send out the same formulation at no cost. It arrived promptly, and my hair looks great! From now on I will leave the color on my roots for 40 minutes instead of what the instructions say. Love the color and the customer service. I am so happy I am on auto-ship!
