As an out-of-state son of a deceased parent, I searched for honest 'estate sales' people. At first, Nancy Lewis, seemed to be that person. However, that was not the case. She refused to empty the unsold contents of my deceased mother's home without an additional fee. 35% commission may be the 'norm' but beware of the untold "minus" fees. Additionally, be aware of the auction day phone calls. Wanting an immediate decision for a less than desired dollar amount because "...he is going to walk away unless you decide" conversations. All in all, not honest. I recommend that if you are out of state, wanting to sell a deceased family member's contents, find a third party to oversee the sale.
