The company's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and unresolved order issues. Many customers report extensive delays in shipping and inadequate communication regarding their purchases, leading to frustration and a sense of helplessness. Additionally, there are widespread concerns about the platform's reliance on automated systems, which fail to provide effective support for both buyers and sellers. Despite some positive experiences with individual sellers, the overarching sentiment highlights a pressing need for improved transparency and accountability from the company to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.

Thank you so much!
Beware! Etsy will close your account even when you are making good sales and they never disclosure reason. All earnings will be lost and purchases will become untraceable.
Don't go to such places if you are serious buyer or seller.
Ever wonder why every seller seems to have a 4.5 to 5 star rating? Mediocre reviews are not posted. By Etsy's own published policies, you can only post a picture of the item you received if you are giving a five star review. There are many talented, hard-working creators on Etsy, but as a buyer you are not getting the full picture from reviews.
Last week, I logged on to Etsy, It was super easy to set up my account but when I want to get my favorite stuff, It never arrives. I thought if I can leave Etsy alone for awhile but I think Amazon is better. I saw that the Fox miraculous must have 5 spaces, not like volpina's miraculous. I'm very confused and very annoyed a bit. But It is more cooler as I expect. I really think they can move to Amazon so they can work together more often.
So, ETSY is a little less straight forward to review than most websites. It is a platform where individuals can open their own shops. I have used it as both the seller and the customer. From a sellers point of view it's very easy to use. The platform offers a great opportunity, but you really need to do your own advertising for your shop to gain traction and customers. As a customer it is also easy to use, but DEFINITELY read the reviews. I have had great experiences with most shops; however, I have had a few bad experiences. ETSY is quick to work with customers to get refunds even when the shop owner isn't. So even if you have a bad experience, there's a little peace of mind knowing ETSY can still insure a refund depending on the situation. For example, I once didn't receive a product at all well after the agreed upon time and ETSY sent a refund and canceled it when the owner wouldn't respond. I'd recommend it from a seller and a customer standpoint.
I have had an online store and I am still waiting 3 weeks later for the escalation department to get back to me. Meanwhile Etsy is charging my credit card and still holding onto my credit card information and for no reason. Cheap is not always the best way to go. In this case it's definitely so true about Etsy! Do not go cheap. Pay a little bit of money. It will be cheaper in the long run and you get better service.
The Good: ETSY was very responsive to my telephone call and quickly issued refunds for my two recent transactions...
The Bad: ETSY allows new Sellers that sell but never deliver. In my two recent cases ETSY says the Sellers no longer sell on ETSY (even after my credit card transaction had processed on ETSY days prior)... I wanted to reveive my items...
The Ugly: ETSY has allowed Sellers that only use PayPal. To me, PayPal does Not offer the same level of Buyer protection as Mastercard or Visa.
Seller screening is needed...
I brought a few items that was not the actual size an the price was changed I recommend everyone take a picture of the item because they are misleading customer. I was very unsatisfied
First time I used ESTY. But I noticed have bad customer service, I tried to pay for my order throufg paypol but each time I received message to inform me I have to change pay method. Then finally one of the seller accept credit card. I pay for my order and received confirming email, 3 days later I received email item no longer and will refund my money but I have to open case. I tried to open case but I have to wait for 3 weeks before I could open case to get money back. There is No contact# to call only send message. I sent message and waiting to heard from them. I recommending be away from this website
Do NOT frequent this SHOP on Etsy Fannyh sells glass pendents She is not at all respectfull of customers
We did not receive a necklace and she refused to process a refund
Fanny considered posting a review a " threat "
After much anguish Etsy support finally processed a refund
However, in the process, they lost me as a valued consumer,
Read this review and beware of sellers such as Fanny on Etsy
I've been scammed by a fraudulent shop, I've been auto charged for a shipping issue that wasn't justified and hasn't been resolved, but, I've also bought tons of unique items and supported small businesses. I sell on etsy as well, and the one issue I've had they refunded the seller out of their own pocket. The off site ad charges are absolute garbage, but they've since made it so smaller sellers can opt out. It's a mixed bag, in my experience they've usually been accommodating. Sell and buy but be wary.
I tried to get these nails! I bought them January 12 took tell February 20 to send to me then I never received them said they were delivered but NOTHING IN MY MAIL BOX THE SELLER SAID ITS YOUR PROBLEM! What a Bi$&h nasty woman! Horrible customer service! She said she's great shop I call BULL S$&t on her! Then the company would not help me get my money back bunch off scam BULL S&@t site! Buyer Beware!
It one of the best online market place. We can get all type of product in this market. They delivered their products in our house. Thank you.
I am a long time seller on ETSY. The last year it has gone to crap. Unfortunately they do no vetting of shops and it has became a hub for counterfeit and infringing items. I have reported many shops, filed many DMCA's, yet ETSY continues to leave these shops up and running. Shops like this send junk to the customers while stealing from honest hard working artists and designers. Buyer beware. Do some research on the seller before purchasing goods. I added a photo of just a couple items that are using my art.
Etsy is full of counterfeit, "LV", "GUCCI", UGG, no one taking care, there are NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT at all.
Worst customer service from 3rd party I've ever dealt with. Waiting 6 + months for order, seller won't refund, Etsy won't help.
Horrid service.
This is becoming a fraudulent site. Two out of two orders in the last month and both FRAUD.
LOL for the first one, the woman said (and Etsy) that they 'never received the payment' which shows clearly in my Paypal. The order not rendered, had to wait 1.5 month to file a complaint with Paypal, and then 3 weeks for a decision, all while the fraud Etsy had my money.
Etsy in the meantime kept sending the messages how 'they will take care of me' and 'resolve this' and never did.
DID YOU KNOW? YOU CAN'T REACH THEM OVER THE PHONE! BEWARE!
And today's 'digital delivery' order I received a 'digital' jpg thank you for your purchase. Hahahahah for $20 usd.
Etsy does not let you choose 'REFUND' in their options. So I have to wait to go though the Paypal process again.
DO NOT BUY FROM ETSY. I'M SURE THAT THEY HAVE SOME HONEST SELLERS BUT THERE ARE LOTS OF FRAUDSTERS OVER WHOM ETSY HAS NO CONTROL AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A PURE BS, WHICH IS A FRAUD ON ITS OWN.
DO NOT BUY THERE.
See what I got for my purchase ha ha ha ha ha
Horrible experience buying on Etsy. Purchased a signed jersey for a birthday present one week in advance. All the seller did was create shipping labels but never shipped. By creating labels it shows Etsy the seller's intention to ship so Etsy doesn't see it as a problem. Of course, once the seller was contacted, he (James), used the iron clad COVID excuse. Once COVID is mentioned good luck trying to get anything resolved. I will NEVER BUY ON ETSY!
Ordered a product from LeArtPrint on 12/30. On 1/25 I received an email inviting me to review the product. Since I didn't receive the order, I gave a 1-star rating. Seller sent me nasty emails telling me I "needed to change the review." I asked for a refund. No response.
Contacted customer service and was told I had to keep asking/communicating with the seller and "hopefully, seller will grant me a refund." No offer to contact the seller; no consequences. Customer service said, "sellers set their own policies/rules" and we can't process a refund. So, basically, sellers have no consequences, can do what they want. I'm worried now because this guy has my credit card info. I've ordered from Etsy in the past and have been very happy. But this ordeal takes Etsy completely off the table as a legit site. No more Etsy. I'll stick with Ebay and Amazon. I don't trust Ebay.
Answer: Check the reviews, and Google the seller. Also, are the reviews written in good english? Does it seem fake? Check pictures from the buyers.
Answer: I would have to say no, with LOTS of exceptions. In the past few years Etsy has allowed business to claim handmade if it meets certain criteria. I often see many items that claim to be handmade but I have seen them on Alibaba being sold in bulk. That being said I look very closely and have purchased some wonderfu items from great sellers. The biggest problem with Etsy is that they no longer protect customers from fraud (they say they are not liable) but in doing that lots and lots or resellers and counterfeit items have saturated Etsy' s marketplace. I would never buy anything "vintage" there. What I have seen you are getting thrift store rejects or modern fake. Buyer beware! Investigate all vendors carefully!
Answer: I am agree with Ramina. 90% is not hand made. All comes from Factories. When someone has over 8000's item don't you ask who made it. They are all over from Pakistan to turkey east to west up united state. Etsy is happy just to take your money and every 4 or 5 months closing one store to show off and if you have some money as a credit they take it too. No customer service, no respect no manor, they made policy just for FUN and they have FUN with our pocket. Stay far from them FAR FAR.
Answer: I agree with Steve J on this one. A lot of sellers on Etsy work from home in the evenings for extra money. Most of them are not big businesses with massive inventories so I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Give them a little more time and if they dont send it out then file a case with etsy
Answer: Business checking isn't necessary (the banks now charge a monthly fee for a small business checking). You can pretty much set up a regular checking account
Answer: I believe this depends on each seller. Etsy is simply a platform for sellers, and often does not have any direct involvement with orders short of processing the payment. Certain items cannot be returned for safety and hygiene reasons, and sellers can refuse to do anything other than exchange. Contacting Etsy may or may not change the results.
Answer: If you do, I would be cautious about ordering from international sellers, use a credit card in case you need to contest the charges, and do NOT expect ETSY do a thing if you get ripped off. They are useless and could care less once the sale is final.
Answer: I have bought a number of items through Etsy and with great success. I had only one negative experience and Etsy took are of that. I recommend Etsy wholeheartedly.
Answer: The best and quickest thing to do is to email the seller and let them know that you would like to return for a refund.
