Hi
I really give zero of possible.
I use a lot of online platforms to sell my stuff and this platform is amateur.
Accepted all my documents but on the first sale I made I problems start.
First the id card that was considered jump to invalid.
Second the credit card I use on all my buys online was invalid?
But to get my money from Etsy do I need my credit card?
I made an appeal for this decision and they keep their decision but don't give any reason for that.
What a shame.
After purchasing several Tshirt graphics, for a Tshirt printing business I'm in the process of forming, my account was suspended and my orders were cancelled. Etsy claims there was fraudulent activity with my account, when that is far from the truth. I used my own personal debit card and placed the orders from the same device I always use. I have filed an appeal and have yet to hear from them. This is a huge inconvenience for me and will be affecting my business.
Thousands of Chinese manufacturers…
Thousands of Chinese manufacturers allowed to sell prohibited items?!?!?! I list a grinder and get reprimanded - suspended with one sale?! Total discrimination on ETSY. They allow huge sellers/manufacturers to sell every type of drug paraphernalia you could imaging. Thousands of pages, some of these sellers have thousands of sales each - but Etsy allows them because of the $$$$ they make from them. Always screwing the small home-based business - that is the ETSY way.
I like to support small local independent businesses just like those on Etsy. I have only dealt with Etsy UK, and only as a buyer. I am constantly amazed by the quality and workmanship of the items I receive. Always beautifully wrapped in eco-friendly wrappings and usually with a lovely note of appreciation for my custom even though I don't buy expensive items. I always feel I am dealing with real people, who have a genuine interest in providing the best possible quality, and service to their customers. I was so disappointed, then to read the reviews of sellers, on this site, and to learn how Etsy is treating them. I will continue to buy from Etsy UK for the reasons stated above. I sincerely hope that Etsy UK is providing a better service to these sellers; they deserve the best support possible.
I purchased a cake topper as my first item on this site. I am so in love with it and I am so happy with how it turned out since I was so nervous to buy it because it was coming all the way from Turkey. However, all my fears and nerves were for nothing because it was beautifully made and I can't wait to put it on top of my wedding cake!
I adore this site as an online shopper. A good place for handmade gifts, particularly jewelry. It is also a good outlet for metaphysical supplies, which is something I previously struggled with. There are some things I believe shouldn't be sold (legally), and some items are just silly (as far as price goes). I'm a little surprised at the lack of restrictions. Like I said though, as a buyer, this site is handmade heaven.
As a seller, however, it is more complicated. I signed up not realizing the price. I have had a lot of trouble cancelling my store, and the payment plan is set up so that you are automatically charged everytime the site needs a payment. This, mixed with the difficulty I had cancelling the account, led more money than I would've liked being charged to my credit card. Even after "cancelling" it, the site continued to charge me.
I really like Etsy. There are loads of lovely, artsy items to browse. I've used them multiple times for unique gifts or lovely jewellery/accessories. Contacting the owners of the individual businesses is very easy as well, and I've found all of my correspondences to be very pleasant.
I certainly recommend Etsy for anyone looking for something a bit different (and to support individual artists too).
I ordered a hat on Etsy.com - MadHatCattery *******955 NY. My credit card was charged a couple months ago, but never received the product. I checked online and it never shipped. And guess what? This seller is no longer on Etsy. And no way to contact Etsy to let them know. Very disappointing!
This website is hard to give a full review on seeing as its shipping from the stores themselves. But for me I have been lucky to get the good ones. My orders come within a timely matter and the whole process is just wonderful. I think that it is a grest website.
Last night I bought and paid for a pattern for a babies sleepsack. I have downloaded it but cannot access it. What a waste of money shall not be using etsy again.
When I typed in Purchases and Reviews all I got was a discussion on the new purchase site. There is no more to help. What a rubbish site.
I ordered 2 golf balls priority for a party on Sunday. I text the company multiple times asking where my order was, no response. On friday 3 days after a placed the order priority, they sent me a confirmation that iit was going to be shipped that day. I emailed them again, no response. Now next week I will be shipped a useless order that was supposed to be priority. Please think twice about using this company and don't let them ruin your parties!
They have unscrupulous sellers and their policies do not protect the buyer.
I purchased an item from one of their sellers who is apparently not in business. They took purchase money and there is no way to contact them. This was a gift, I was not aware it wasn't received until beyond the 60 day policy window.
A thief is a thief, and the fact this out of business seller is still on their website should tell you a lot about Etsy!
Etsy is a complete scam. No 24/7 help line, no email help line, no chat line that they advertise. Purchased face masks from "Tati Tom" with a 100% money back guarantee. LOL. Guess what? Tati disappears! Etsy disappears! Threw my money away on all this scum. ANY of these positive reviews have to be made up. Look online and find the "REAL" customer reviews!
I have been a seller and buyer on Etsy for over 10 years and never have had any terrible issues really. The only complaint I have is that they are now over populated with not so honest drop shippers that sell knock offs or copyright infringers. Etsy will remove them when you file a complaint but there are so many and its takes so much time. It's like that everywhere now. Etsy was fantastic in its early days with the look and feel of real homemade and one of kind place to sell and buy. But now it is just another place online where you have to sort through the trash to find the treasures.
Purchased a coat vintage from a etsy store called glass city reclaimed the coat was listed as men's xl when i received it it was a women's coat and smelled like cat urine, it was so bad i had to put it in the garage. I've sent numerous messages to etsy and to the seller with no answers back This sale was a fraud paid over 100 for the coat i even offered to pay return shipping Store is Glass city reclaimed
I have to share how impressed I am with the company Etsy. Shop and the products they offer. There is a variety of quality merchandise to purchase with good shipping speed. The Customer Service that I received is amazing. They were helpful, friendly, and very patient.
I have bought tons of items from etsy.com- mostly with no problems. Any shipping (broken or missing items) issues have been resolve nicely with the sellers. Only one time I had to contact Etsy help on a seller that was not responding to my emails about an item I paid for and didnt receive (for months). Etsy helped resolve this issue with the seller and I received my items.
I am now very picky about the etsy vendors I deal with. I have bought several things recently: mostly jewelry and face masks. The quality is very good to outstanding.
I check and will not deal with anyone who can't show they are a real maker -- not a Chinese goods importer. I rely heavily on reviews that give details (don't just say things like "Thanks. This is great.". I got a high-quality retro necklace from Israel and a pendant that is unlike any I have seen before, from Russia. I've ordered other things and am very saisfied. The fabric sling bag I ordered is strong and amazingly soft for strong fabric. Inside pockets that you don't usually get for the price. There is even a cell phone holder on the outside. The design is unique and I like it very much.
After ordering several different items through etsy.com I will not order any more. I did buy some really interesting jewelry from the artist who made them. However, you have to be careful about who you buy from. I found that too many items come from China but are advertised as "craft" or even "handmade". More than disappointing. I ordered a return address rubber stamp. I liked the design and it sounded like it was actually made by a real person, a designer. It arrived lacking a significant piece of information I had requested. Then they wanted to charge me more to fix their error. The 3 lousy letters were added but they look terrible. I would never pay 1/2 of what I did knowing that I was getting a stamp from a template churned out in China and emailed to the company. Very disappointing. I no longer have etsy.com on my ipad because of that and other similar flubs.
Everything I have bought on this site has been thrown into the trash. The vintage is in horrible condition, the handmade is made of cheap materials. Disliked everything I purchased on it. All the sellers get their start on ebay and then move over to etsy to try to make more money. Dislike the look of the site. Can't stand the bad photos. Can't stand most of what is sold on it. Was unhappy with everything I bought on it. Stay away from this site.
Answer: Check the reviews, and Google the seller. Also, are the reviews written in good english? Does it seem fake? Check pictures from the buyers.
Answer: I would have to say no, with LOTS of exceptions. In the past few years Etsy has allowed business to claim handmade if it meets certain criteria. I often see many items that claim to be handmade but I have seen them on Alibaba being sold in bulk. That being said I look very closely and have purchased some wonderfu items from great sellers. The biggest problem with Etsy is that they no longer protect customers from fraud (they say they are not liable) but in doing that lots and lots or resellers and counterfeit items have saturated Etsy' s marketplace. I would never buy anything "vintage" there. What I have seen you are getting thrift store rejects or modern fake. Buyer beware! Investigate all vendors carefully!
Answer: I am agree with Ramina. 90% is not hand made. All comes from Factories. When someone has over 8000's item don't you ask who made it. They are all over from Pakistan to turkey east to west up united state. Etsy is happy just to take your money and every 4 or 5 months closing one store to show off and if you have some money as a credit they take it too. No customer service, no respect no manor, they made policy just for FUN and they have FUN with our pocket. Stay far from them FAR FAR.
Answer: I agree with Steve J on this one. A lot of sellers on Etsy work from home in the evenings for extra money. Most of them are not big businesses with massive inventories so I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Give them a little more time and if they dont send it out then file a case with etsy
Answer: Business checking isn't necessary (the banks now charge a monthly fee for a small business checking). You can pretty much set up a regular checking account
Answer: I believe this depends on each seller. Etsy is simply a platform for sellers, and often does not have any direct involvement with orders short of processing the payment. Certain items cannot be returned for safety and hygiene reasons, and sellers can refuse to do anything other than exchange. Contacting Etsy may or may not change the results.
Answer: If you do, I would be cautious about ordering from international sellers, use a credit card in case you need to contest the charges, and do NOT expect ETSY do a thing if you get ripped off. They are useless and could care less once the sale is final.
Answer: I have bought a number of items through Etsy and with great success. I had only one negative experience and Etsy took are of that. I recommend Etsy wholeheartedly.
Answer: The best and quickest thing to do is to email the seller and let them know that you would like to return for a refund.
The company's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and unresolved order issues. Many customers report extensive delays in shipping and inadequate communication regarding their purchases, leading to frustration and a sense of helplessness. Additionally, there are widespread concerns about the platform's reliance on automated systems, which fail to provide effective support for both buyers and sellers. Despite some positive experiences with individual sellers, the overarching sentiment highlights a pressing need for improved transparency and accountability from the company to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.
