Horrific policy. My license from Canada updates every 5 yrs as do most across the globe. This is so for update of address and photo. According to Europcar policy if your license has a issue date of less than 1 year you can't rent a car. In my case, mine had renewed in Jan so although I have been driving for 40 years, I was given a hard time, an unbending front desk person and a delay in starting my holiday. Terrible policy. I will not rent from there again
The staff was perfect, kind and competent!
They were very punctual both on arrival at the airport and also when they took us back to leave at the end of the rental.
The car was very clean inside and out.
The only thing I didn't like is that the car didn't go very well, it didn't have good road holding, perhaps because the wheels weren't new or because they were very worn. In the corners we had to be very careful and go very slowly to avoid drifting.

First the Europecar server was down and we had to wait for more than one hour before we could start. Then at our first stop 45 min away we realized that the electronic of the locking system of that absolute new car was out of order and we had to wait for a substitute car kindly brought to our spot by a Europcar assistant.

Very bad experience. I will never work with europecar again. I rented a car from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm and when I arrived at the airport there was no service port, I had to call them to receive me. Car at 23:00 that was in the contract and already paid. I asked them to cancel the contract but they said that this would not be possible since I had already paid. Bad experience... Upon delivery of the vehicle, they signaled a damage that was on the vehicle before and they were only convinced when I showed a video that I made myself at the time of reception. Anyway, never again... We have many companies even at the airport that will certainly provide a better service.

I chose Europacar Greece because it was supposed to be a trusted and reference brand but it was just the opposite... lousy service. Cheats. Be careful...
It was difficult to find the rental desk which actually was in the car rental parking and also difficult to reach the parking as it was far from the airport. We had to call the main company and wait til we get some instructions and luckily they sent us a shuttle to drive us to the parking place. Everything was fine with the check in. Very pleasant boy and helpful. What actually we didn't like is the extra insurance service, it could be more flexible and not so complicated. It should be provided by the car company and not 3rd parties. In general the car was new and we really enjoyed the ride around the island.

Because of the low price.
I received a booster seat for +5 years child instead of a full baby seat for 3 years old child. That is not safety at all. I had to put my child of 3 years in a booster...
The USB socket into the car doesn't work so it is impossible to plug your phone to charge it. I had to use my phone as GPS (google maps) but without USB socket, my phone got low battery before I reach my final destination.
It is the first time in more than 15 years of using Europcar that I really feel unconfortable in a rental car.
For me, it is a very bad experience.

The staff were wonderful, such lovely people, the car was perfect and the same as the booking picture, it was just difficult to find as I arrived late in the night and the phones weren't connecting, but when I did the staff cheered me up!

I received the car that I reserved and it was close to a new car with few thousands kilometers so the car was in a great condition. Overall experience with Europecar was good. I was talked into to buy extra insurance though. But I guess it was for safe of mind.

Europcar Customer Service in Greece
For the price I was expecting a more performant vehicle. Ok the car abyway is pretty new but I am not sure it belongs to the right rental group in my opinion. Besides I was honest by saying that my plan was to take the ferry and go to Naxos and for that I had to pay a fee because apparently there is no insurance for the ferry transfer. I mean, honesty did not pay. How many people say that instead of avoiding the fee? And anyway this story of no insurance of the ferry is completely unfair. Greece has thousands of islands but it is still the same country. It never happened something like that for other rental in other countries.

After arriving at the airport we had difficulty to locate the pickup point. The link with instructions for finding the office was not working. After locating the Europcar minivan that took us to the offices, everything was fine.

Absolutely horrible and rude customer service! And they try to force a scam on traveller's. There was not a shuttle at the airport and no one answered the phone. Had to walk on foot to the rental site with luggage. Got there and the clerk was rude. Said no shuttle. Furthermore, there was a small dent (a little bigger than a 2 Euro coin) already on the bumper. They did not document it and then accused me of doing it and stated I would be charged $1000E. The man was pushy and rude. Tried to get me to admit fault and sign a paper, then became threatening! Said he had pics without it; however all the cars are the same! I went online a saw that Eurocar does this often in Chania (over 35 documented complaints) and was sued in the UK for the same scam which they lost based on the court case evidence. I am VERY angry about this scam. I am military and have filed a complaint with the JAG office!

SATO military booked and after this experience we are issuing. A military travel warning that no military for Souda is to use this company again.
The stuff was very nice. However the car was damaged at the back. Only later i realized that there is no reverse camera or any assitancs while driving backwards. I am pretty sure the stuff was aware about this problem. On taking the car i asked for another car, i did not know then about the spesific problem but they refused.

I was surprised that Europcar was the only office out of the terminal. I had to expend time in the minivan to get your offices and to give you back the car, I had to pay 30 extra Euros because my flight to Spain was at 09 am and your office open at 07 am so in order to get time, my travel agency agreed that someone from your company arrived at 06:30 am and I had to pay this extra service. All in all, i am ok with the service.
Yesterday we had a flat tier which could not be fixed by the fix kit (foam) and the car is lacking a spare tier. We waited 4.5hr for tow & taxi service. I am still waiting for solution for the next possible case where i no longer have a kit for fixing a flat tier nor a spare tier.

Good car but big problem with the cleaning. The car was dirty (my kids found a plastic bottle of coca-cola 1.5lt below the left front seat. Also the spare tire was damaged despite if I tried to blowup with the recommended air pressure.

Finding Europcar on the Airport Heraklion was a little bit difficult, but after calling the number on our reservation-letter, it was very easy.
Someone from Europcar brought us to the office from Europcar, where we signed some documents and got our car - this took about 30-45 Minutes.
Everything was perfect, the car was totally ok (we got a Mitsubishi Spacestar, wich is a little bit small/low for greek streets).
On the last day, we thought it would take much longer to return our car, like on the first day, but we were finished in about 10 Minutes and someone from Europcar brought us back to the Airport.

Overally the rental experience was good. Only thing I haven't experienced in any other rental companies, was the out of office return fee. In other companies returning the car is just the key inside the box and off I go. I understand the company representative had to come to the office for that but it seems a bit unnecessary. This was just a bonus that the representative gave us a transfer from the office to the airport.

Very efficient service! Picked us up from the airport and drove us to HQ in order for us to get our car. The only thing that could be better is to communicate_where_ at Athens Airport the pickup spot is since Europcar doesn't have any office/desk at the airport. That could be communicated better.

We were disappointed by the local Europcar rental company in Corfu. The model that was originally chosen on the website was not chosen but... you know it's a nice model that baits you or they give you a similar category... it's the second category that was chosen with a low roadster when we were expecting an SUV ordered! Especially as it is not the same category and in addition the model given had a problem of deflation of a tyre! Fortunately, Renato, a well-intentioned employee, offered to come back 4 days later (60kms away) to give us a Jeep renegate, not very comfortable but higher. During our exchange, the boss was very busy without ever greeting us or apologizing for this incident! That means that he had nothing to do with our 15 days rental anyway!... we won't go back there anymore!

- requested car (Jeep renegade) not deliverd. Instead Toyota Hybrid not as good
- additional insurance at a disproportionnate price compared to the renting one (286€ vs 540€)

The car is OK no problem. The problem is, it is impossible to find the Europcar shutle in the airport, no indication where the bus is coming, nobody known where the shutle is waiting passengers, no office in the airport. We paid 19 € (minimum price said the driver) for a taxi. It is a scandal.
It is a mistake, because 3 years ago Europcar has a office near the Airport, no problem of shutle, now rent a car with Europcar in Crete is a problem

When we arrived at the airport Heraklion, it was not clear, where we find the shuttle service. The phone number of the schuttle service shown in the Europcar App (*******000) does not work! This was very disappointing.
Thanks to google-maps we found a phone number that worked, but the guy on the phone told us:"the shuttle is at the bus station." But we found no bus station. After we asked several people we found the shuttle.
We ordered an payd a child seat 15-30 kg but they didn't have one, so they gave us just a small child pillow.
With the car, everything was ok.

Our shuttle bus is allocate in the bus station opposite of the Arrival hall, 50 meters of the entrance of Arrival Hall.

The car I received was very large and consumed a lot of fuel. I would have preffered a smaller more fuel efficient car. Pickup at Thessaloniki airport was a bit complicated because the locationi for Europcar was incorrect in Google maps.
