Horrific policy. My license from Canada updates every 5 yrs as do most across the globe. This is so for update of address and photo. According to Europcar policy if your license has a issue date of less than 1 year you can't rent a car. In my case, mine had renewed in Jan so although I have been driving for 40 years, I was given a hard time, an unbending front desk person and a delay in starting my holiday. Terrible policy. I will not rent from there again

The Customer Service was good. Professional and fast.
The rented car, however, was not to the proper standards. Although the car was a brand new car (I was only the second renter), it was improper for the hilly terrain of the South-West Peloponnesus. The engine was the smallest possible for that car, which resulted in not enough power to climb the ups and downs of the roads. I had to switch very often to the first gear to be able to drivie the car uphill at all! This is going to kill the car's engine pretty soon.

When I was shown round the car, the stay on the drivers door hinge was broken and the door skin dented. The door just swings right open.
I said I find the want a car that was broken at the price I was paying. They said they had nothing else available. Why did they think it was acceptable to get s broken car.
I asked how long it would take to get a replacement vehicle, they said they couldn't. When I persisted they offered to go and wash one of the other cars on the forecourt. That took about 15 minutes which was ok.
When I booked the car through jet2 it said pick up from desk in the terminal. The Europcar office in not in the terminal, is is not on the airport site it is a site immediately adjacent to the airport entrance. Not too far to walk with your bags in the heat but I wouldn't have chosen Europcar if I had known

In total okay. I reserved a car disbribed as big enough for 2 big baggages. In the car we get 1 baggage fit in the back and the other we had to put on the back seat. I find this very confusing and for us the car does not fit the discription.

Despite all the efforts from the Europcar employees to give the best to the customers, It makes no sense that Europcar do not have an place inside of the Athens airport, and it is outside, away from it, in a old bus, changed to be temporary an reception.

It is a lose of time for the customer. It took more than an hour to have my rental car because of waiting for the transfer, waiting other customers, etc.(the privilege card not taken in consideration)

I wouldn't recommend Europcar for Crete rentals. At drop-off, they pulled the classic charge for damages that they claimed we made despite having full insurance. Won't be using them again.

I waited over 1 hour un the queue to get assisted because there were only 2 people at the counter assisting everyone. They said the other 2 people got sock with COVID. But there was no back up. Then they said flughts were delayed and everyone came at once, hence the long queue and they cant do anything about that. Surely, as a big company, you know its peak season amd you increase your staff in order to provide good service. I had my nephew q7 months old waiting over 1 hour, he was restless eventually and screaming. Its just unacceptable ti have to wait over 1 hr in the queue at the airport to get the car and to be given excuses thst still don't justify the ling wait. Then 1 gentleman comes to "assist", he helps 1 gentleman who wasn't even in the queue theb leaves again. Then the 2 at the counter say they asked for help and the guy came, but he left je wasn't assisting. Its unacceptable during thisnpeak season in Greece to provide service like this.
