EveryPlate has a rating of 1.5 stars from 107 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about EveryPlate most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and next box problems. EveryPlate ranks 96th among Meal Delivery sites.
I saw some of their reviews and shock they ever got a bad one, I have been using them for around a year and never had bad food, missing items or any issues with them at all. I think people are more likey to take time to write when something goes wrong, then when it goes as it should, so I am taking the time now. It has been going great, I would recommend them.
I have used (and loved) EveryPlate for a couple of years now. Occasionally there are subpar ingredients or something left out, but lately the quality has plummeted. My last two boxes have contained completely unusable, rotten, produce. Potatos that were black and soft, slimy scallions, smashed tomatoes, mushy bell peppers. When I called to inform them, I was given a credit for the cost of the vegetables. But that's not the point. A couple of bucks for rotten produce doesn't make up for the fact that I can't cook the meals without going to the store. I'm writing this review because I have gotten no satisfactory response from EveryPlate customer service. They very politely tell me how sorry they are, but I have yet to hear from anyone who can tell me what will change. I am sorry to say that if it happens once more, I will be cancelling my subscription.
I used a free voucher for their service and they sneakily grABBED MY APPLE PAY INFORMATION AND PUT ME ON AN AUTOMATIC WEEKLY PLAN FOR 101.47$. THEY REFUSE TO REFUND AND CHALLENGED ME DISPUTE. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.
EveryPlate is plagued with shady, dishonest tactics.
For one, there are items promoted in their internet materials that are not actually included in the packaging, and you only find out when you get the package itself. So that's extra time to go out, purchase the missing materials at added cost.
Second, when I visited the EveryPlate site, I noticed that every page on the website was working - except for the Account Settings page, the page you have to go to if you want to cancel your subscription yourself. WHAT A COINCIDENCE! I'm not buying it. EveryPlate deliberately sets up their website so that you can't cancel your account on your own, and you HAVE to go through their customer service system.
Other issues...
The packing was highly disorganized - I simply couldn't make heads or tails of which ingredients were to go with which meal, and I suspect some items were missing. (Beyond the items that are explicitly listed as not being included...).
Company materials also describe preparing a meal in 30 minutes, but a more reasonable estimate is 60-90 minutes. (The main draw for me was the idea of quick meals at low cost - this is NOT quick).
The problem with the prep time was enough for me to cancel my subscription. The shady practices are enough to ensure I will never do business with EveryPlate ever again.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use this service.
I received a delivery a week ago and the issue I had was how the delivery driver delivered my box. They put the box into an Amazon lockbox. The cold items are on the bottom and the box was upside down. All my veggies were damaged. I called the company and they did a discount to my order. I explained to them they needed to deliver the box to my home. The note was and is on my account. Here we are week two and the same issue this week. I spoke with a customer service representative (Catalina) and she was by far the rudest person I have ever met. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said it would take 24 hours to speak to a supervisor. I said why do I have to wait to speak to a supervisor? You didn't wait to take my money. I kept insisting for a supervisor and the conversation just escalated. I didn't want a credit I wanted them to ensure me the delivery driver would deliver my box to my residence. This has happened twice and still no resolve. To top it off there ia a post in the lockbox room stating food deliveries are to be taken to the resident. It takes me almost 20 minutes to get the box out of the lockbox. I have yet to speak to a supervisor. I am just going to cancel my subscription. Totally ridiculous.
Tip for consumers:
Supervisors should be available to handle these special situations. Especially when the representative doesn't understand English nor do they articulate properly.

The box was slimey, chicken was stuck to the box, the veggies rolling around in it, packaging is horrible. Yall need to do better for the price people pay. Throw in some baggies to separate the veggies from the slime! Thx but no thanks!
Tip for consumers:
That it's not separated in the box

I ordered 7 meals. Came all jumbo in box. No idea what goes to what. Not enough produce or spices. Shorted meal one meal. First order was enough for me to know this is not convenient. Fun.

Extremely dissatisfied with Everyplate's customer service.
The order was sent to the wrong address and despite multiple attempts to rectify the situation through customer service, I have yet to receive a satisfactory resolution.
The customer service experience I received was very poor. The rep I spoke with was unable to assist me and/or give me credit for the delivery I paid for.
I find this very very disappointing as this is not your customer's fault that the package was delivered to the wrong address. All I was asking was to have the following week's delivery credited since the delivery for this week has already been paid for. This experience has been completely unacceptable.
As a paying customer, I expect to receive my order and proper assistance in the event of a mistake. I believe that better customer service and more effective assistance would go a long way in improving customer satisfaction and loyalty.
If you do care about your customers, you would treat them better when mistakes like this happen and the customer has to take the loss.
I do NOT recommend everyplate to anyone.
Ordered a biscuit meal, biscuits were all moldy out of the box. Live chat gave me a whopping $2.00 credit. What a joke of a credit for a meal that was useless without the biscuits.
Edit
Tip for consumers:
if you deliver a crap moldy product, you should replace it in full.

I went on the website to look...you have to put your information in b4 u see menus which I did I NEVER placed an order.they sent me a box I called them they said keep.box I won't be charged and they will deactivate my account. They did NOT they billed my bank a month later I called they said my account is active ACTIVE I NEVER ordered I said this they said basically I had to pay for the last box then my account would be deactivated!SCAMMERS
I received a free month of 3 meals a week offer through a friend. I contacted their customer service to be clear that this a free offer for the first month and I will not be charged if I deactivated my account at the end of the trail period. At the end of the free offer, I deactivated my account. I noticed a $38.93 charge on my credit card twice. I contacted Every Plate and spoke with their customer service agent. I was told I was not getting a free offer, just a discount on the meals, plus, because I chose some premium recipes, the discount did not applied. He also stated he has no way of knowing what another agent said to me and cannot help me with those charges. When asked about the charge after I deactivated my account, he agreed to reverse that charge. Beware and make sure you check your credit card account to make sure you're not being charged even after you deactivated your account. Also, make sure they document your account so there won't be the headache of a bait and switch to your plan. Needless to say, I will definitely not recommend Every Plate to anyone considering it. Their meal plans are not as reasonably priced as they make it out to be, and their portion size are quite small.
I ordered on a promotion. My order was delivered to someone else, an address I never provided. I had skipped my next couple of meal deliveries while I try the first box. Well contacted customer service, was issued a credit for my next order. That was on October 31st. I removed the skip for the following order. I went through the charges on my card and noticed I was charged on October 27th, while the account was on hold. Again I contacted them and a refund request was made for me and I was told I will hear back in 1-2 hours. No call back, so I reached out again and was told that the charge will not be refunded because I signed up with a promotion and my delivery come end of November will be free. This is not what I was originally told. The charge was fraudulent given the fact that the account was frozen when it was processed. Food was not great, requires a lot extra ingredients that I was just expected to have in my pantry and the amount of time shown to prepare a meal is way underestimated. Would never use this company again in the future! Stay away!

This business is a joke. My sister in-law gave them my name and they sent me an invitation to try their service for a week and just pay shipping. I decided what the heck I'll give it a try, what a huge mistake and a waste of time. I was supposed to get my first shipment Monday Oct 3 2023, that day came around no meals only email saying it was delayed. No info on when I could expect it just that it was delayed. Next day comes around (Tuesday Oct 3 2023) no meals, just another email saying shipment was delayed. Later that evening I called customer service was told shipper (UPS) lost shipment another shipment was made and I will get it tomorrow (Oct 4). Guess what, you guessed it, no shipment. Called in again rep said shipment would go out sometime today and I should receive it whith in the next 2 to 3 days. Only problem is their boxing information says the meals can only stay unrefrigerated up to 48 hrs not 72. Not to mention that if you want to make any changes to the following weeks order it has to be made by Thursday and I may receive the shipment Thursday, Friday or Saturday if at all. Everyplate would have you believe that they proved good meals at a good value. You be the judge of that based on my experience. I however feel that the provide a cheap product with poor customer service. I was told Tuesday that I would receive the new shipment the next day and it never happened. Pay a little more, you will get a better product and customer service. Everyplate should be ashamed of itself but sadly they don't.
Tip for consumers:
You cannot talk to a supervisor, I guess the phone reps are so good that they don't need one. I asked to speak to one and was told they didn't have any and offered to take my phone number and have someone call me back (sure likes that's going to happen) asked for the corporate phone number again they don't know that (convenient

I purchased a Groupon and was not able to redeem it. I called their customer service number with my Groupon order # and forwarded my Groupon purchase email but wouldn't honor my purchase!
I called to cancel order; was told I could change order, but it was too late to cancel order becaause it was on the truck. If the order is on the truck how come I can CHANGE but not CANCEL This is fraudulent information.
I cook practically every night and I make a lot of trips to the grocery store and spend a lot of time planning meals and it's very time consuming! So I decided to give Every Plate a try. I have to say that my husband and I have been floored because every meal I have made from my weekly order has been super delicious and it's been very easy to follow the recipe directions. We look forward to getting our 3 recipes delivered along with the fresh ingredients and condiments. I have more time now to tackle other projects on my list since I'm not having to go to the grocery store near as often. Also we have found that the cost of the meals from Every Plate are a lot lower than what I was having to spend on food from the grocery store in order to cook my meals from scratch. In addition, getting meals from EveryPlate helps me with my meal PLANNING and now I am not having to spend a lot of time sorting through all of my recipes to decide what to cook! I never dreamed the food could actually be this healthy and delicious. I also wasn't sure how my meals would turn out but they look appealing and my husband loves eating them, as do I. Our hats are off to the meal planners/executive chefs at Every Plate! Thank you Every Plate!

I signed up for this service and after realizing a few minutes later the food is not precooked, I canceled. Still was charged and have not received a refund! Terrible customer service.

They are going to charge you even if you cancel. Then they reimburse you and you might get it.

This has been the worst experience I've ever had with a company. I canceled my order then got another box (I thought no biggie maybe I canceled after the deadline). Then another box came and I was charged again. I called and they verified that my account was canceled. Then two more boxes came and I was charged for both again! I called and the guy said he found a duplicate account with an email address that didn't exist. I explain I didn't sign up with that email. I was on the phone for 35 minutes at this point. Then he put me on hold and hung up on me. I called back and got a different person and explained my first phone call to her. I asked for a refund for the 3 boxes and she said she can't do that. I was on the phone for over an hour with her just to be told the manager would have to call me back!
Everyplate has lied to me, stole my money, and stole my time. I told them if they could send me the confirmation email that I agreed to with that other email I'd accept the charges. They were not able to produce that proof but still will not give me my full refund. They are basically saying they can just send unwanted boxes that were never agreed to and charge you for them. STAY FAR AWAY from this criminal company.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from this company!
Cancelled within 5 days of delievery. When I called I was told 5 days from order,. I called Monday and informed them I would be hospital for heart surgery that Thursday. They said the delivery couldnt be stopped. What a waste. The order before was missing ingredients also which I reported. So they started processing my 2nd order over the weekend. Who does that.? I just got home from hospital and called customer service. I spoke with Anita who had a personality of a robot. She said she would reimburse me 8.75 for missing ingredients. Thats it. The meals are not heart healthy since I didnt choose them and were delievered even though I told them nobody was there. Meat thrown in freezer several fresh items bad. What a shame. It could have been avoided. The main reason for my cancellation was the preparation. I found it very hard to prepare. Not designed for older people with disabilities. Anita, their customer service agent lacked customer service skills. As a lifelong customer service agent, this is not how you deal with people. You have to be able to listen and be empathic. Very dissapointed, and what a waste of food.

The order never arrived despite us waiting a day in a half at which point I'm assuming it spoiled anyway.
They are inflexible on delivery date and changes to the menu. They send meals with missing ingredients that requires you to go grocery shopping.
I consider(ed) myself a loyal every plate customer after having been with them for over a year and a half (they tell you how many boxes you've ordered when you call customer service and so when I called them today they were kind enough to tell me I've purchased 78 boxes (1/week minus times out of town)). Unfortunately I've had two of those boxes stolen from my porch. The first time it happened they informed me that they couldn't do anything about it since it was delivered so I ate the cost, but after the second time it happened and knowing I've spent over $3k with them (and would have continued to have spent $2k/year with them for the foreseeable future), the company still not willing to do anything outside of tell me sorry and ask if they could do anything else to help me today was the point at which I knew they were not the right mealbox choice for me. They weren't willing to show courtesy to someone who averages $2k/year on their product, even if it just equated to 1% of the total I'd spent with them. Another company with better appreciation of their customer base is worth a potential additional cost when I factor in the money I've paid them for products that were stolen. Every plate has left a bad taste in my mouth which is unfortunate for a mealbox company. I will be switching to a different option today and if you can afford similar or slightly more expensive services I recommend you take the customer service aspect into consideration and check out their competitors before signing up.
I give customer service worker 1 out of a 10 beyond that, she was a 1000! The company itself are scammers! I learned about them on my Facebook feed! Saw so many comments praising the company! Which a few complained about the $1 steak unavailable to choose! Anyway the prices per meal were unbelievable! Sadly I had to find out they WERE not true! I created an account and chose meals and added to my cart! Even was able to add the $1 steak! Tried to order extra but only one$1 offer was allowed! I understand that(HEY, I tried)! Went to cart to check out! Added my card number and before I hit submit I saw they had changed my meals selection! Even removed the $1 steak that clearly showed added to my cart, and like I said would not let me add another one! Which proves they knew one was in my cart!
It showed order would come January 6th!
I did not hit submit button! I exited out and it took my back to Facebook page!
I saw $1 and some cent taken off of my card from them! I didn't pay it any mind!
Came home today January 3rd, and saw a box delivery from them! They basically RUSHED what I did not even place an order for to me! I called cuz I know I never clicked the submit button! The kind lady told me that when you creat an account you are agreeing to a subscription! Which that is where the scamming comes in! Usually when a customer makes an account they don't get automatically charged and signed up for service or a subscription! Only once they click submit for purchase or to order! I didn't! That's just like being charged to window shop! Imagine making an account through Walmart.com to browse and they charge you when you didn't order anything! The rep tried to offer me discounts on future orders, to get me to stay! I appreciated it! Sadly I do not want to be a customer of shady businesses! So BUYERS BEWARE! If you don't believe call and ask a customer service rep will you be charged for making an account to view their services! You will be shocked when they tell you, it automatically signs you up for a subscription!

Purchased initial box, paused 2 weeks after and still got charged for the meal i never ordered. No refunds either. Pathetic waste of money
I ordered our first box of 4 meals for two people that was to arrive Aug. 9 but arrived Aug. 8 instead. There was no notification it would arrive early and the FedEx driver never knocked or rang the bell, so the box wasn't discovered for 24 hrs. It sat outside half of one day, overnight, and half of the next day in a heat index of 114 degrees.
When I opened the food package there was no ice pack(s), only the insulated liner. The root vegetables were fine, but the ground beef and ground pork were gray-brown, half cooked. The chicken and salmon I'd ordered were missing from the box, so instead of 4 days of meals there were only 2, now inedible.
I cancelled my subscription, telling the operator why, and was given a refund. By the time my VISA bill arrived there was the initial charge, the refund, plus a new charge listed. There was no mention of an additional charge during that conversation because the operator knew I hadn't received half of the order.
I called EveryPlate again and was told the new charge was for the premium meal (salmon) I'd ordered... the salmon that apparently eloped with the chicken tenders instead of getting into the box.
The operator for this latest call was extremely rude as I was trying to explain the situation. I didn't know I had an inner Karen, she never came out in public till today when I finally raised my voice and told her to listen to what I was saying and not keep telling me I had a premium meal I needed to pay for. I shouldn't have to pay for something I never received. She listened, then said something I couldn't make out, and suddenly I was on terminal hold.
So here I am with my complaint. I feel no inclination to ever use or recommend their service or those under the other names they use (HelloFresh, etc.).
P.S.--Did some closer inspection of their recipes and discovered that many of their meals have a very high percentage of salt listed on the nutrition sheets. Not healthy!
P. P.S.--Try and unsubscribe from their email, it's impossible, their email just keeps coming no matter how many times you tell them you want to unsubscribe from all of their variety of emails.
