“They cheat”

My credit score is getting better and better but Experian reports my ratings going down as I move from one category to a lesser category. When I check it out they want money so I can dig deeper into what I'm sure are false reports. You guys are scaring people just so you can get more business from them. Merica the great.

The street address where I live is unusually long. My credit report on Experian shows all sorts of different addresses, all of which are errors because of computer screw-ups of my long address. Will Experian allow me to fix this easily, NO! They want me to call them and talk to some nincompoop phone clerk.

Experian has had numerous cyber break-ins. I trust Experian as much as I trust a used car salesman. ZERO

To put it simply, Experian sucks.

Tip for consumers:
Beware of Experian! Don't fall for their phony credit increase nonsense. Experian wants access to your bank account, including your personal login and password. A person would have to be insane to reveal this information to anyone else. No one knows my bank login except my bank, as it should be. I trust Experian about as far as I can throw a Mack truck.

I keep a credit freeze in place and would only temporally unfreeze for a mortgage. After I unfreezing with Experian, I started to get all kind of mailings and spam.

My credit score is 827 on the other two reporting agencies. Out of the blue with no change to my credit, Experian tells me my score has decreased by 22 points. Nothing has changed for me in the past year.

Dispute department guy was such a jerk. He had to work the day after the 4th and was giving me attitude the whole time for no reason. His tone was so condescending. If you hate your job that much than quit. The lady I got before being transferred to dispute department was no help either. I follow the correct steps to upload proof of my dispute and the website won't even allow me to upload the PDF file. I have to mail it in. Straight garbage don't even waste your time

I have been locked out of my online account and I can't unlock the account, multiple attempts to call the credit bureau are just met with a phone robot, that just tells me to go to the same website I'm locked out of, I need to talk to a real person about this. I am disabled and stressed the f*** out. I don't know what their game is, trying to hide behind phone robots. Experian is Trash. Go in the flipping bin.

Absolutely trash operation, send you in loops for every process and apparently their employees are afraid to do their jobs and can't be reached for simple processes and requests. If a companies only goal is to burn people it shouldn't be a company. Hire representatives to assist people calling or dissolve as an entity.

Tip for consumers:
Write your information down when you create an account because they will not help you recover your account. The reset link doesn't send a link but gives a number that tells you to go to the link.

Products used:
Website and Mobile Application. Customer service can not be contacted through various requests and numbers, I am still unable to access my account. Worthless if you need any assistance.

A few months ago my auto lender made a system error and marked me 180 days late with Experian, Transunion, and Equifax. This error dropped my scores about 40 points with each bureau. I submitted disputes with each company, and was in contact with the lender to correct the mistake. Once the error was fixed, Transunion and Equifax returned my score to what it was prior to the mistake. Experian which had dropped 42 points, returned only 13 when the 180 day late was removed. When I called to find out why they said that there was nothing that could be done and that my score is completely controlled by their algorithm. I explained that when a factor that caused -42 is removed from an equation, the end result would be +42. They either did not understand that simple mathematical concept, or they did not care.

When you log in, you're greeted by a page where they've prepopulated your credit card info, and where the "buy" button is visible, but the "not right now" button is off the screen. And they've set it up to where it looks like just another button to click through to get in. See the attached screenshot and you'll see what I mean. This is not how above-board businesses operate.

Their phone system is set up to cause you to have to go through prompt after prompt to get to speak with a person. Before you do, the system may hang up on you. For one event, I had to call Experian 6 times before I got everything worked out. Unlike Equifax and TransUnion, you cannot dispute anything online; a phone call is the only way. Conveniently for them but not for you, the call center is only staffed on non-holiday weekdays during normal business hours.

Tip for consumers:
Be incredibly careful about clicking on any button. It may be tricking your into buying their "service".

I created an Email with password for a Basic Free look at my Credit Score. I never started a Subscription nor gave out my credit card, not authorizing for them to bill me. Then I started getting charged $29.99 plus $2.99. What a scam. I turned it over to the fraud department and ordered a New Credit Card. To use my Credit Card without Authorization and the Customer Service is Terrible. This is the worst Credit Bureau.

Tip for consumers:
They will charge regardless or upgrade you without your consent and use your credit card without letting you know. Not cool

I never registered anywhere and for months they have been charging me $19.99. Every month I have to go to my credit card and dispute. When I call experian, their system announces that I have no membership but every month the charges appear. I am frustrated with waste of my time. I am sure they are fraud.

They do their best to keep your score down. They ding you hard for minor bad news but ignore good news. They prefer to try and sell you new credit cards. Their credit simulator is inaccurate so don't trust what it says or what they say or do. Experian is morally bankrupt

They are on the banks' side not the consumers

I have a 100% payment history and only 1 bad mark from years ago. They keep removing this charge and placing it back as new. Said to dispute and it won't hurt my credit. But they denied the dispute and then updated it on my report as new, so it keeps affecting my credit over and over. Keep placing it as new. My score keeps going down even though I just paid a few accounts off and paid down all of my other accounts. But they're quick to report a hard hit or more credit usage. But never the payments. When am I rewarded for my good credit behavior? My guess is when I make $300k a year. The changes they've made to the credit reporting has screwed those of us who don't make a lot, but still follow the rules. Fk u experian.

Tip for consumers:
They punish me every time I follow their advice on the app.

I tried to select Zero stars but wasn't allowed. This is the worst service you can buy into. Please don't waste your money. The membership agents are horrid and unsupportive and don't understand the need to report correct information about creditors. In addition, the numbers are not accurate.the number that does online differs from what I received when I called in. I was also charged for a year fraudulently for someone else's membership and was told they couldn't credit me. Worst experience. Please go with Transunion or Equifax instead.

I didn't get my so-called "free" dark web report! Now I'm just on the hook for their ads! You try to contact them on the website and all you get is a bunch of topics I'm not looking for - just a lot of run-around!

Someone stole my deceased mother's identity and I was trying to report the identity theft to the 3 major credit bureaus. Experian is by far the worst of the 3. The website is completely useless and helpless and the automated service on their hotline is worst automation I've ever encountered in my life. Having the line ring without any answer would have been 1,000,000x better and more useful. I would avoid Experian if at all possible.

Impossible to talk to an agent. They ask for your social security number right when the bot answers. If you are dealing with fraud, which I am, that is the last thing I want to give before I even talk to an agent.

They contradict their own verbage constantly. Not using enough credit they state then I respond make credit card purchases within 6-10% usage of available credit and then payed in full. Expirian rewards me by lowering my score by 11 points and then further their contradictory behavior by claiming this action doesn't effect my overall credit worthiness.
They purposely have metrics in place that throttle a person's ability to increase their score.
Once notified by credit karma that I was doing an excellent job staying within my 6-10 % credit card usage and Experian later in the day rewards me by lowering my score by one point.
Incredibly shady organization who work on behalf of banks and lower scores at random to garner higher interest payments for banks.

My credit score with Experian is outdated and doesn't update when things change. I can not get the credit score updated even though I have worked hard to get my score up. The other bureaus update much more often.

Why can't I file a dispute online anymore? Why change something that was efficient and fast? Now you want us to call and take up so much time for something that used to take seconds. You tell us to call and it is a nightmare to even get through to someone! I wish I didn't have to use this site.

I had applied for several credit cards on Experian and all of them were soft inquiries. However, today I applied for a Capital One card which denied me and it was recorded as a Hard Inquiry. I understand that these are advertisements. If Experian really cared about boosting your credit score they would not allow advertisers on their site that dings their customers with a Hard Inquiry. Customer Service said they could not remove it because it wasn't fraud. Experian cares more about making money off of these credit card companies and not so much about boosting the credit scores of their customers.

Absolute trash, you can't speak to a real person, it's nearly impossible to cancel ANYTHING. Would not recommend at all. They are not up to date with the times, they want you to mail everything, there's no simplicity.

My only tip is to avoid them at all costs

Out of all the credit bureaus, Experian is probably the worse in terms of understanding English. I called a few times and the agents did not understand that my classification should be the same as my spouse if we were both found in the Equifax breach. Do you need a police report for that? I had to pay for a freeze whereas my spouse did not have to. All the agents did was furnish me a copy of my credit report, which I had and it is not what I asked for, which was to correct my classification so I wouldn't need to pay for a freeze or unfreeze.

Tip for consumers:
You might want to take a chance if you're expected to pay for someone stealing your information from a data breach. I reached out to the CFSB as well and they too did not understand my problem and it was just so simple.

I would not keep paying for a service i don't get. Hence why i had to seek the expertise of private credit financial expert, webghost33 via instagrm. He helped removed my negative inquiries and cleared over $45k cc debt after i had become a victim of identity theft fraud. I'll tell you for a fact that freezing your credit is not just enough after a fraud related issues. Most credit bureau dont help clean up credit report as expected. Do better. My credit has since improved after seeking help elsewhere. Current score of 768.

My credit score is always 40-55 points less than the other two major reporting agencies. Response to my inquiry was less than stellar claiming they use different factors. But, agent couldn't or wouldn't disclose what those factors were and recommended I use their "BOOST" feature. Big deal, it raised my score 5 points. Most lenders I've worked with are aware of this issue and don't use them. To my knowledge their rating system has never affected my ability to get credit. You're better off just ignoring their service and don't spend your time or money on them. I always direct potentional creditors to check my Equifax and/or Transunion scores first.

Tip for consumers:
If you know your Experian score is probably inaccurate direct your potential creditor to check the other two credit bureaus for comparison.

Experian is a platform to scare you into a bogus membership. While they will send you constant emails, you will be ignorned when it serves you. They will disregard all important factors, questions, and resolutions unless it serves them. I have been frauded by a company that is suppossed to protect me from fraud. In fact, my membership jumped 17.04 a month without any notification. So, you contact them to resolve an issue and you are connected to an individual oversees that as no clue about anything. 100% a scam. Why would you pay them when Credit Karma is free!
