My credit score is getting better and better but Experian reports my ratings going down as I move from one category to a lesser category. When I check it out they want money so I can dig deeper into what I'm sure are false reports. You guys are scaring people just so you can get more business from them. Merica the great.
I canceled like a week ago and today they charged me, I called them and they told me that I have a free membership so it must have been someone else using my card (yeah right) then the person on the phone asked for my credit card number, why in the world would I give some random person over the phone my credit card number? They're freaking scammers, don't trust them!
I prepaid for a Budget car through Experian, went to the counter to pick it up, they did a "soft credit check," said I didn't qualify and was refused the car. According to CreditKarma, my credit score was 780 - very good. I asked for a refund and was refused. They said since I booked through Experian I had to request a refund through them. I went to Experian and was also refused. They are my travel agent, I prepaid, one of their contractors screwed me, but they didn't make things right. Experian and Budget are bad businesses.
I was signed up for a subscription - I definitely didn't begin any sort of membership and hadn't even visited the website today. I cancelled my membership and called to ask for a refund. I was very polite and patient on the phone. The customer service agent told me that "memberships are non-refundable." I stated that I hadn't signed up for a membership and would really appreciate a refund. She told me to "hang on while I check this on my end, okay?" I said okay... She hung up on me.
Not speaking on behalf of the California location specifically, but for Experian as a whole. They are terrible! They do not give you a FREE CREDIT REPORT; however they do say that their fee is only $1 and then mysteriously charge you $17.99 for a "membership" that they do not tell you about. Do not obtain your credit report from here, seriously! They suck.
This Experian company slammed/scammed me for $24.31! It was supposed to be a "FREE" credit check. I did not join this fraudulent company. Yet, I was charged the above amount on my Capital One credit card. When I saw this, I immediately reported the fraudulent charge. Capital One investigated and gave me a credit for the $24.31. But, after a week with no reply from Experian, the credit was revoked! I have been unable to talk with a human at Experian with one exception. When i first saw the charge I was able to talk with an Experian employee from the Phillipin Islands! She told me that my complaint would be investigated and, to wait a minute. I waited and waited. The phone connection was gone! I am reporting this to my state's AG Consumer Complaint Division and, to Capital One. Anyone else have a similar problem? Report it...
I simply was trying to review my credit report. Unbeknownst to me I got signed up for some sort of expensive membership. When I realized it I tried to call their Customer Service hotline, which will not let you speak to a person even if you say "representative" or press 0. It doesn't have the option to do so. After googling "How to talk to person from Experian" I called the number provided. This was busy. I attempted to login to my account. Somehow my previous password did not work, and when I tried to get my username and password again I was told that it would be sent to my email. After 15 minutes it is still not there. A SCAM. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

There was error on my credit report. I called Experian to dispute errors. Experian phone reps gave me the run arounds. They are rude. I always had a great credit score. I notice that my score was dropping low after checking my credit score with Experian. When I open account with Experian, I couldn't even log in the next day. They deleted my account few days later. Its shady Experian closed my account. I wish I never used their website to check my credit score. Worst customer service, so I know to use other credit bureau. I
My minor child's ssn was stolen in a medical data breach. I called Experian to try to check her credit report, to make sure her identity hadn't been used to open credit balances. I was told I had to have a PAID MEMBERSHIP to access my child's report. I have to PAY to make sure my child doesn't enter adulthood with crippling debt SHE did not accrue. When having a credit score is not something she can opt out of! It's ridiculous! If we don't have a choice but to take part in credit scores and reports... why do we have to pay to protect them?!
Recently had a question about my experian membership account and they were really rude to me about finding out my score. Be very mindful when using experian bc they're scores aren't correct. I wouldn't pay for the membership because it's not accurate at all. Recently Got Credit Pulled To Find Out My Actual Score and it was 17pts lower than my score on Experian which through me back when they told me :(

This company has the bad habit of automatically taking the side of the creditor, or in my case the Reporting entity that bought some bogus paper.

I strongly do not like Experian. They are slow to show improvement, but quick to show a bad mark on your credit report. Very outdated, and inaccurate.
I'm just curious, my score changes randomly for no reason, it's gone down 25 points in the past few weeks for absolutely no reason, it doesn't make any sense, at this moment, all of my accounts are paid off except for our mortgage, so what the hell is the reason for my score going down 25 points! Not too long ago my Experian score was 809! Now it's down to 764! Absolutely nothing has changed, I pay off my bills in full every single month, what the heck is going on here! This whole subscription thing looks like a scam, there's no logic to it, the only thing they seem to excel at is pushing credit cards, I get emails almost every day pushing for me to apply for more credit cards, and I especially love the unsolicited ads from them that they have picked out credit card offers especially for me, Is that what we're paying for? I thought I was paying for a service to monitor my credit in my Fico score, but it seems the only way they can make money is to push credit cards, which by the way if I applied for all of these credit cards my Fico score would probably be 500, something is very very wrong with this "paid" service, seems like it's time for the government to get involved and take a look at these people!
This company is supposed to protect its customers from credit fraud. Yet, Experian systems allowed a potentially fraudulent transaction to execute inside their own systems without warning or alerts. Someone else's payment for a credit report, with completely different name and address, was charged to my credit card on file, all while telling me the card is invalid and membership fees cannot be charged to it. To add insult to injury, the card in question is listed by for monitoring for any suspicious activities. There is a final straw. When I contested the charge, Experian customer service uncovered the problem, and I asked about refunding the amount, a mere $25, the answer was simple. No credit. Go contest the charge with your credit card company. Obviously, the I am no longer a customer of Experian but this makes me wonder. If they won't stand behind $25, does their million dollar guarantee even exists? I am not even going to dive into how many times their phone systems disconnected me and how every time their support made me start from the beginning.
They make it seem like you NEED them to lock or unlock your FICO Score. They are claiming to be free but charge you after they make you sync your bank account. There is ZERO notification by text or email before the 7 day mark. They are doing shady business taking money from people and putting it into those corny expensive commercials all over TV. YOU DO NOT NEED THESE CROOKS FOR YOUR FICO SCORE. They are hoping you don't pay attention to their long notice of service. Waiting on their refund for shady business across the board in every way.

Go to your BANKS website to get reasonably Accurate info on your own credit. It is my opinion that they should be Class action sued for misleading the General public & coercing people into svc that are NOT helpful. My credit score is LOWEST w Experian(excellante) for No apparent reason. I expect that after this review they will ding my credit score because they are EVIL! There are two addresses that I need completely taken off my account because I never lived there and are my mother and grandmother account before age 18. I'm so angry at the credit bureau choosing to $#*! up my account by doing that. Also REMOVE THAT STUPID SPRINT COLLECTION IDIOTS!

I was applying to refinance my car loan with Open Road Lending. When you finish the application, the Experian Credit Report has an advertisement that makes it look like you need to fill out your information with them to continue with the application. As I reached the end of filling out the Experian subscription, I realized I did not need this for my car refinance and logged out. The following day I woke up and checked my phone and saw that the Experian Credit Report tried billing me $24.99 but had been declined. They must have had an old card on file that I used before and tried running the card.
After receiving an email confirmation, I tried to reply to Experian multiple times, asking them why they were running my card and to stop. I tried contacting them through the app, but you can't get past the updating of your card part. They have now tried billing me six times. Really! Something must be wrong if you must run a card six times. That's ridiculous! So, if anyone from Experian is out there and can fix your mistake, that would be great.
Their phone contact system and operating service is the WORST, AND I MEAN WORST, thing I have ever experienced in my entire life. They should be ashamed out themselves and frankly, put out of business NOW. They deserve less than a star and a swift kick in the ***
First of all you can never talk to a live person. You report incorrect information. Once a charge off is reported, say 6 years ago, the reporting company should not have a right to report the payments currently late. The reporting company chqnged the way they were reporting the old write off and started showing payments not being current. You can't have it both ways. When the reporting company shows the account 30, 60, 90 and then written off from 6 years ago you cant go back and show current amount owed on a monthly basis. EXPERIAN SHOULD KNOW BETTER TO REPORT IT LIKE THIS. I tried to have it reported correctly and experion did nothing. This is supposedly coming off my credit in may. This was citizens bank credit card services.
I hr and 4 calls and transfer later the employees can't speak or UNDERSTAND ENGLISH. A fraud alert was placed we requested it removed we still aren't sure its been corrected and your company has no email to send our power of attorney so you all can speak with my wife to get this fixed. This Veteran family would give Experian ZERO STARS if we could!
After another round of 2 hours on the phone with Experian being bounced around I am in this no win nothing I can do sucks to be you. I bought a car a year ago and agreed to HARD PULL by Carmax. Not anyone else. These idiots have 26 hard inquiries down for me. The other 2 bureaus have then as soft. I have called EVERYONE and no one will do anything about it. The 10 agencies who ran my credit says that only Experian can take them off meanwhile Experian is literally SCREAMING at me telling me I don't understand, there is nothing they can do, so suck it up and I just get to deal with 26 HARD INQUIRIES on my report. At least Eqhifax and Transunion have decent customer support but these idiots - I was so angry my phone almost ended up against the wall. Experian needs to be FIRED and replaced with a better CRA or just leave it to two.

I check my credit report everyday, using EXPERIAN, this morning I woke up to my credit score has dropped with CHASE BANK CREDIT JOURNEY, who also uses EXPERIAN, When looking at my report, I see a discrepancy with one of my credit cards, so of course I called my bank, which is not responsible for what is on my report, then I called the credit card company, who cannot see the discrepancy, but know that it's wrong, and is mailing me proof. This report on my credit, has already damaged my credit, I went on EXPERIAN WEBSITE, to file a dispute, but of course, they are having TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES, Then I called EXPERIAN after several tries, I got a live person, JOSEPH or YOSEF, who is RUDE, and would not let me speak with a SUPERVISOR. I really HATE that this company has gone downhill.
Honestly I feel like Experian brings people down more then helping us out just because our credits are so quick to drop but so hard to bring back up like they update every month apparently and I pay all my bill in time and I still never get a increase score but when I miss a bill one time my score so quick to drop I don't get how that works
