Express Stevenage

Stayed overnight at the Hilton Express at Stevenage, Herts. Bedroom/bathroom OK except for the net curtain which was not only dirty but had dead flies/moths stuck to it.
Included meal comprised a bowl of melon balls which was served by the staff. No choice - either take it or leave it. My husband left it a he does not eat that particular fruit. Guests went to the servery for the main course which was served by the staff. Again, no choice - chicken casserole, rice, green beans and carrots. By the time 95% of the guests had been served, there was no chicken casserole left for the remaining 5% of guests. Dessert, either a piece of rather dry chocolate cake or some other unrecognisable cake was left for guests to help themselves from the servery. No jugs of water on the table and if one wanted tea or coffee to follow, this was from an automatic machine - coffee was undrinkable. Have to say, the staff were very friendly and if guests did not want a cooked breakfast, cereals etc. were adequate. Cooked scrambled eggs, beans and sausages looked disgusting.
