“Neutral - Outdated Interface”

Bruce J.
6/10/24

The Facebook interface feels a bit outdated and clunky compared to newer social media platforms. It could benefit from a refresh. I'm always a little worried about my privacy on Facebook. There have been a lot of data breaches and privacy scandals in the past, which makes me hesitate to share too much personal information.

Top Critical Review

“Groups”

Lottie H.
10/27/24

Facebook groups should never exist the algorithm is terrible and people downgrade others in some of the groups and get away with it. Facebook doesn't do anything about scam, spam and hackers but if a user post something facebook dislikes they get restricted. Facebook used to be a good way to connect with others but many misuse the platform

Facebook is a useless pos site that censors the truth and promotes misinformation. Fact checkers testified the censor what they do not like. Opinion police = CENSORSHIP.

I've been using facebook to socialize with friends and post pictures and the experience is mostly positive. The video part that posts moralizing horse pocky you can keep.
This Christmas I broke away from purchasing on Amazon and purchased a blanket with the photo of my friend's dog and three puzzles to keep and give as gifts on Facebook. I have a don't buy China goods policy and it looked like I was dealing with US or Canadian companies. Well the blanket was low quality crap sent from China, and the three puzzles arrived from China as bashed up crap with a picture to work from the size of my palm. Conversations with friends yielded the same opinion of the women's clothing sites posting beautiful clothes for sale.
End result is Facebook we'll use your site to socialize but will never buy from any company posting on it. One friend might see something she likes on Facebook and then will try to locate the company directly. Do NOT buy goods from Facebook companies.
All my proof of purchases have my name and address on them and I will not supply to you.

Tip for consumers:
Companies masquerade as north american but actually you're buying from China low quality garbage.

Products used:
quality so bad threw out two puzzles and reluctant to give as gift. Blanket given as gift with apologies for how poor it was.

Facebook has the worst customer service. How do you not have any type of a call center?

I was locked out of my account months ago. Someone hacked me, changed my email AND my password. Facebook wants to send a recovery email to the email that has been changed. What in the world is that going to do for me?

Fast forward to today, I find out they'll send an email to any email address I select as long as I give them a picture of my ID. I do that. They say, "Okay. Here's a link. Change your password." Hopes are up. For no reason. After I change my password it wants a "code from a code generator". What the actual fu¢k is that? I didn't set that up ever. So, I still can't get in. It gives three options for a "if this doesn't work" scenario. They all basically say "log into Facebook on a device you've logged in on before." Yep. That's my phone I'm currently using. Guess that's not good enough for some reason. Or. GET THIS. LOG IN TO MY ACCOUNT AND GO TO THE MENU TAB. If I could do that, why the fu¢k would I be here to begin with? $hit platform. I just want my memories from 10+ years ago, you corporate di¢ks.

Conclusion:
Not to sound like I wear a tin foil hat, but I think facebook intentionally did this to some extent to get a copy of my ID.
Fu¢k you, Zuckerbit¢h, you lizard looking di¢k.

I recently deleted all of my profiles on Facebook and contacted an agency that helps with investigations of illegal things that aren't allowed that Facebook allows on its platform because they dont find somebody saying " im going to kill the president" a violation if their:
"Community standards" but they'll block your account if you tell someone to F***off but they won't someone threatens something in the nature of wanting to kill someone I don't get it Facebook are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites that need to be sued and banned from the web in countries all around the world

Tip for consumers:
stay away and keep your kids off of the Facebook platform

Facebook is good for communicating with friends and family and sharing lots of different types of content, but there are far too many ads and quizzes that seem an awful lot like phishing.

They no longer have anyone working for Facebook. It's all A.I, a very stupid A.I that will easily make mistakes and ban you for absolutely no reason what so ever. It picks up a word or a minor misunderstanding and you banned for 30 days and when you appeal the decision, they never look at it. Which makes me think nothing on their site is alive except the people using the site. No staff what soever, if they exist they are brain dead zombies.

I mean i posted video of my helmet camera and in the post I put "look at this dozy cow playing around with her phone..." There was no one on facebook I was insulting directly at, it was a video of a woman who wasn't paying attention to her surroundings on the road and I got BANNED for harassment and bullying. I got no words to describe this and when I appealed and they said it does go against their community standards which means they "NEVER" did read it. They are lying to people.

As I said to others, do not pay for ads on facebook, do not invest in facebook. Sell your shares. Do not click on any of facebook ads. This is not a website run by professionals but amateurs.

I thought i was creating a page for my small local business. I added friends, family and clients (i am a pet sitter) on this "page" i would post about pets, vet stuff for my clients etc. One day i posted about people not walking their dogs on hot pavement. After a week or so of it being up i started getting messages on it and likes from all over the globe. I thought they just found me through friends etc. Then two days later I went to put gas in my car and had no money in account. Go to bank and seems facebook "boosted" the post at a cost of 600.00! What? I freaked the bank canceled my debit card (it was attached to FB so my grandson could buy little game boosts here and there) I contacted FB and the next day they said the post was boosted by me. WHAT! I make 300 a month why would i pay 600 for a POST to be seen by people around the world that are of no benefit to me or my business? I keep explaining that no one ever wanted a post boosted nor would i need to. I just keep getting sorry sucks to be you emails. So now i am going to have to go to bank again and file fraud paperwork. They said it takes 45 days to process and facebook always wins. I am sad, im broke, my bank account is in shambles...

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT EVER HAVE ANY PAYMENT METHOD TIED TO YOUR BANK LINKED TO FACEBOOK IN ANY WAY. MY BANK SAID TO USE THE RELOADABLE VANILLA CARD WITH ONLY 10.00 AT A TIME

Facebook has had hundreds of complaints about these companies and their fraudulent business practices but still allows them to advertise on their site. They are ripping off American's for hundreds of thousands of dollars. I have even seen complaints on the Facebok page Zaful SCAM ALERT & Real Customer Reviews from other countries. SHAME ON YOU FACEBOOK for allowing this to go on. Look at the Rosegal facebook page and see all the people complaining.

FB has become a big part over the years in social media without a doubt. Like all companies they need to make revenue so we see the adds here and there and learn to live with it.

I started a hobby side business and in my media feed I posted some of my work hoping to see interest etc.

I got a one my credit card statements in the mail and I see two charges from Facebook. First time in my life any charges.

Since I'm starting up I can't really afford advertising and so on. At least not yet.

My issue is this... fb is NOT honest and clear how and what the charge. I went into my settings and checked if I had payment methods or anything and I did not. No idea how they even had my credit card information I would have not willingly paid for any of my posts. They are not clear or upfront in any of their information.

It's one thing if they were and I knowingly agreed to paying. But I didn't. So f u Facebook for being sneaky and underhanded. I'm going to share this information on all avenues I can find!

They have no phome numbers or contact info you can call just a generic page to send them a message. F it. I'm done.

Ppl on Facebook are always seeking medical advice in CROCHET GROUPS.
This is ILLEGAL yet FACEBOOK and the ADMINISTRATORS of SOME groups are letting this go on.
WHY would you post medical advice and take a chance of being SUED OR KILLING a person? This needs to be dealt with and NOT wait until someone DIES

Tip for consumers:
The unauthorized practice of medicine occurs when someone gives medical advice or treatment without a professional license. The prohibition against the unauthorized practice of medicine is a precaution against people who would try to treat others without the proper training, or by using unproven methods which could harm or even kill their supposed patients. As a result, all states make the unauthorized practice of medicine a criminal offense with potentially serious penalties.

So I don't use Facebook, I have an account, but I don't use it. There's too many social medias and I don't need another thing to keep checking. I recently used it specifically just for marketplace. My only activity on the whole account has been me accepting a friend request from an old high school friend, and messaging this guy on marketplace to see if his van was still available for sale. That is everything I have ever done on Facebook. Then yesterday, on my birthday, I find out my account is suspended for violating community guidelines. Just some cut and paste reason with no real explanation as to why. There's some big process to verify my identity, it's kind of creepy and uncalled for (I verified my identity ages ago when I made the account so they shouldn't need that again anyway) or my account gets deleted, for what reason I would like to know, but there's no way for me to find out. Upon doing research, apparently this is a really common problem, and even doing the verification stuff often still leads to your account being removed. My heart goes out to all those who lost old classmate and family contacts, and those who actually use this site regularly.

Tip for consumers:
Don't. Please make sure you have Facebook contacts added on other sites so if this happens to you, you won't lose contact with people.

This site does not give you one thing they promise, which is a one of the three positions left to list items that are auction listing ready--all you have to do is list it. First you must become certified in auction listing, which is 10 lessons on selling on Ebay. They also tell you that you only need to understand the material, but you will not be using it. I read the 10 lessons, passed the test on each lesson, and went to step 2, There I went nowhere. I called them, and they took me to a place where I could sign up and give my credit card to DOBA, which is a drop shipping company. I was to get products and do all the work they told me about in the lessons, and sell on Ebay. This is NOT the "position" they lured me in with. They also told me from the beginning if I was not happy with the program any time in the next 90 days, I could have a refund of my $97. When I asked for it 10 days later, they told me I had to work at it and I would make money. I told them this was not the promise their ad offered me and I wanted my money back. I waited 30 minutes on hold, kept being told to leave my name and number and someone would call me back. Of course, that never happened. So, I disputed it with my credit card company. Do not know yet if there has been any success on getting the money back.

A few days later, I received another email with another just like this one with the name Cathy Banks and the picture of the same person as the Emily Thomas site had. So, they are duplicating it for others to use for money. This one wanted even more money than the Emily Thomas one.

I made a purchase from Adidas through a facebook retargeting ad late November, when I was done it asked if I wanted to save payment method and looked like samsung pay so I mistakenly added it. Less than 24 hours later, my account was logged in from Brazil, they changed my phone number for 2 factor authentication and posted something that went against community guidelines and my account was disabled. I made the HUGE mistake of linking all my business accounts to my personal facebook (you are forced to with posting apps) and consequently my business accounts have been disabled as well. Facebook has ZERO customer service and I have literally tried everything to plead my case to them via help center, email, and I even purchased a portal device just to talk to customer service. They all tell me there is nothing they can do.I think companies should stop running ads on facebook if you are only going to compromise your account by purchasing from them. Facebook knows this is an issue but does not care about its consumers enough to fix the problem.

Tip for consumers:
Do not add credit cards to your account. Facebook knows this is an issue with hackers and does nothing to fix it and has no resolution on consumer end.
