As everyone else here, I assumed this service was free until after I'd already finished my document and was ready to download. Luckily, they have a 7 day free trial period followed by an automatic charge. Somehow, I must have accidentally signed up for the wrong membership so instead of 7 free days I was charged the full annual price (not sure how this happened but I think it was probably my fault, rather than a glitch in their system). After reading the word 'scam' a lot here, I was scared about contacting them. However, they repaid me in full immediately with no problem. Still only 4 stars due to the time I wasted creating my documents thinking this was a free service, only to realize at the end that it was not. Customer support was good though, definitely not a scam!
Charged my bank account without my authorization. Wished I researched these reviews before getting snookered. Hopefully my credit card company will not pay the bill. I thought there were laws to put scammers like this in jail. If I lived in CA we would meet in court. With thousands of complaints at the BBB you would think the California Consumer people would jail these crooks.

I have been being billed for months for a subscription I canceled on 3/10/24. They have escalated my case supposedly but refuse to give me any answers, any contact info for the escalation team or a supervisor. What kind of company works like that. I still have not heard from anyone and probably never will. I had to block it from being billed to me to get it to stop.
Tip for consumers:
For it to actually cancel when I canceled it. and for the customer service department to actually answer my questions.

They state a "free" 7-day trial period and then make it impossible to cancel. Many people mention not being able to sign in again to cancel and then there is a recorded message on their customer service phone number. I am still trying to cancel after 3-days. They are just waiting until my 7 days expire so they can charge my credit card.
DO NOT BELIEVE THESE REVIEWS--LOOK AT THE REVIEWS ON TRUST PILOT AND THE BBB website
WHAT A JOKE. YOU SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TRIAL AND CAN'T CANCEL WITHOUT SIGNING UP FOR THE DROP BOX AND USING A TICKET #. AND THEN THE WON'T REFUND YOUR MONTHLY BECAUSE YOU WERE NOT FAST ENOUGH TO SIGN UP FOR THE STUPID DROP BOX APP. I AM SO MAD!
Tip for consumers:
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. REALLY???? I HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR "DROP BOX" JUST TO READ THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION??? TERRIBLE

Holy crap! Watch your credit card - they will take your money even if you only want the free document or in my case the $2.00 lease agreement! And then they will quote the "tiny print", Per the terms of agreement you signed - all for $37.00 monthly charge. And I didn't use any of their forms. I wonder if they are US based company since they resort to trickery for a measly $37.00. It's the point - legitimate companies don't have to do business like this! Buyer BEWARE!
Tip for consumers:
Info went to the spam folder so I had no idea I was charged until it showed on my credit card statement. I agreed to the charge of the form - not a monthly charge!

Formswift charged me for a monthly subscription even thought the plan was canceled never send confirmation email, and they Do Not offer refunds on anything. My account shows it doesn't have a subscription but I was still charged. Beware I will never use formswift again. They did process my 1099 form but that was all they did right.
FormSwift is a Dropbox company. You would think that e-filing 1099-NEC for vendors would be pretty straightforward. NO! I fill out the forms and press the button to e-file, and an error comes up. Call customer support, but no one can help. It goes to the advance team, no help. I would steer clear of this product as it will take hours, if not days, of your time to deal with customer/tech support. Nothing has been resolved yet, but I have wasted 5 full hours of my time.
Attempted to cancel membership before subscription was due and again day of and to no avail. No customer service in fact there was an email response that said issue resolved. Charge still on card. Stay away from company who refuses to cancel a membership based on a free trial. Look at bbb reviews, insane!
Tip for consumers:
Not good, this company is connected to Dropbox as I googled reviews and it led me to dropbox!

The good: The site does provide an easy way to file IRS form 1099s.
The bad: To use the service you must purchase a subscription service - $1.95 for 7 days, then auto-renewing for $37/month. You must cancel the service within the 7 days. I cancelled after 1 day. Customer service assured me the subscription had been cancelled. 7 days later my card was charged $37. I notified Form Swift customer service of the charge. They claimed the subscription had been "solved" not cancelled. I requested a refund. They claimed they could not issue credit card refunds. I contacted them again. They claimed that there were now 2 different complaints, and they couldn't do anything until the two were merged into one. I contacted them again. They claimed the responses I was receiving were "auto-generated" by their computer system. After a couple more exchanges the finally did refund my charge, but what a hassle! THEIR SERVICES ARE NOT WORTH THE EFFORT!
Tip for consumers:
Almost impossible to unsubscribe from their service.

This site does not say that a subscription is required until you've already edited your document. Then, surprise! Buy a subscription and get your 30 days "free". It's a scam. There are free PDF editors that don't require any subscription, and they're far superior to FormSwift. This is a dishonest company with an inferior product. The technical glitches are numerous. Instead of recognizing fields automatically, as some free PDF editors do, you need to click on fields and then type to populate them. The placement of the popup is not where you actually click, so you need to click around until the popup box is actually where it's needed. The signature feature is clunky and awkward to use, and it's difficult (read: nearly impossible) to resize the signature box once it is placed. I cannot recommend highly enough that you find any alternative to FormSwift. Safe yourself the frustration and time, and don't support a terrible, deceptive company.
Yes, it's a good PDF editor BUT there's NO MENTION before you spend all of your time editing that in order to download your new document, you MUST sign up for a plan entering form of payment! No way around it.
I screenshot my 1 page but that makes it even more work to send it in document form. Don't waste your time unless you don't mind entering your financial info for a 1 month free trial. I didn't see ANY totally free option.

Once on a 7 day trial and then they charged my card without my permission and didn't want to refund me money. Use any company but this one. Highly shady business practices. Why don't you try asking if I want an entire month before charging my my card? Oh because you like to take what's not yours. Great example there. Just go ahead and take the food out of my fridge then tell me to look section codes. Very nice!
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use this site. They will try and rob you.

I used one form and got charged almost $40
A very basic employment document came up on a Google search advertised as free, but after wasting the time to put in name and address it asks for money to print.
Sure, they need to charge for services but then why advertise its free? Some documents are worth $20, this one is not.
I found two $30 charges to my credit card, and I feel cheated and angry. The single form I attempted to use didn't even work. Seems like bait and switch to me. Beware, it's NOT free; what they describe is misleading. I recommend giving your $'s to a more honest and forthcoming business. FormSwift is essentially a skillful, lying, pick pocket thief.
You are automatically billed each month without notification or any communication. Apparently I was paying $450 a year for a service I used once. When I complained, they offered to pay a refund for the last two months. Sad business practices
Caution: FormSwift is a dangerous website that misleads users. The link said it was free, but the real options include $1.67? For 7 days. Other reports of overcharging credit cards sound likely. Stay away.
In a google search, this company comes up with the first hit. The title says 100% free. I completed the online forms and then before it would print, they wanted to charge me. Bait and switch at its finest.
This guys advertise free employment contract and after you spend 10 minutes they are asking for payment. It is small money but a bad culture and business practice. If you have time to waste you can use them.
I used the service last March. I thought I paid 29.00 for one month, instead they kept changing my credit card 29.00 for 9 months without me knowing. Awful, deceitful and dishonest. Stay way from these crouch who wants to get rich overnight!
Why are all these document software companies using the same lame marketing strategy. If your service is a subscription service, SAY SO. Don't pretend to be free until you get their email address and then say "just kidding. We're actually a subscription service but we'll give you 30 days free if you give us your credit card number." Thanks for wasting my time FormSwift. I'll be sure never to use or recommend your services to anyone. Does honesty and integrity mean nothing anymore? I guess I'll never know how good the service really is because the marketing department just cost FormSwift a customer for life.
I was on FormSwift and somehow they charged me for things that I did not even order. It started with $1.95 charges which I did not catch and they started to charge 29.95 per month. All these transactions were definitely fraudulent and without my knowledge nor consent. Be aware when you are on their site and they ask for Credit Card information. Making sure if you do use them, that it's one time charge and not repetitive. Review your credit card statements since I did not catch this until today, February 10,2018 and they started charging back in September 2017
After signing up for their trial membership for $1.95, I received access to their glitchy software and immediately realized this was not going to work for my business. So I called FormSwift to cancel and was told there would be no further charges or action needed. Given that, I filed this away as complete and didn't give it a second thought. Months later, after doing an audit of my account, I now see that they continued to charge my account! I reached back out to customer service on 5. 14. 20, and "Tasha" claims that there was no record of my cancellation. How convenient. Especially when I now see HUNDREDS of similar negative reviews and complaints on the same issue. Now I continue to receive automated emails that are asking for my bank account, routing number, and address (!) so they can provide a refund. Why would I ever give them confidential banking information!?! They were able to charge my credit card monthly without it, they should be able to provide a refund easily!
Don't do business with this company! After their free trial period is over and they charge you the full month for a four day trial and won't give you your money back! They send you to the website to put your phone number in to speak with a representative which then tells you that you can't get your money back after FOUR DAYS! I am now waiting on a email the representative promised will come but hasn't SMH! Please don't use this company
I was surprised when my free trial automatically turned into a paid subscription for $26. I definitely did not sign up for that. However, I was pleasantly surprised to call, talk to a live operator, and in less than 5 minutes the charge was reversed. So while I think the charge was a little deceptive at least they very quickly fixed the situation to my complete satisfaction.
Be very careful using this so called "FREE" service. FormSwift seems to be another bait and switch scam company that tries to get your debit/credit card information for a trial offer they KNOW you are likely to forget to discontinue. I discovered that they have been deducting $29:95 each month for six months for a service I explored once but have never used.
