Best website out there on the history of the Masons and the eventual, 'Freemasons.'

* Other websites (reviewed) claim that Masonry was subverted in Europe in 1717 and in the US in 1818. This author mentions 1717 and 1813 as significant dates. The author states that he needs more information, but that the 'Acceptions' took control and dictated rules. Excellent detailed research:

Check out the site's opening paragraph - clearly contention between using the name 'Mason' vs. 'Freemason.' Author mentions the 'admittance of Jews' at the time of the rise of the 'Acceptions,' who were very likely Jesuit-types under a Frankist ideology. Good Jesuits vs Bad Jesuits is a big theme too.

(Note: Hannah Arendt called the 'subverters, 'Exception Jews.' "Acceptions" vs "Exception Jews"). Mary Shelley, of course, would have called them, "Frankists."
