The game stop in Waco TX ******* is straight trash. The bald headed guy answered phones talked to staff and avoided helping his next in a very long line. He was slow as a snail and had no customer service skills at all. If he can get a job I got two lazy $#*! teenagers that need to hang out and make some money just let me know when I can send them your way thanks.

I will be honest, I have no clue what kids see in these video games! But, I am a sucker for my grandson who loves them. I wanted to get him something special for his birthday. The gentlemen at this location were very friendly and patient with me.

I have been shopping here with my son for years, since he was a little boy and he's now 23. They have great deals and friendly service, although sometimes slow; but that's mostly because of customers. Could add staff to speed up service.

The warranty is practically useless. Just a waste of money as you can do nothing with it. Don't expect a refund because they will refuse to give you one. You'll receive faulty products and expect to spend more money or just deal with it, regardless if you have a warranty or not. It's no wonder this place struggles to stay in business and always has empty parking lots. Honestly, you'd be better off buying from a flea market.

I tried to buy a CD key from their online store 3 or 4 times trying different payment methods. I was rebuffed every time for what should be a very simple, reflexive mechanism. It's like they don't want to be in business anymore.

So I bought two games listed as new on GameStop website. One was Ys pact edition and the other was prinny presents NIS classics. Was shipped in a shipping envelope cases were scratched up no shrink warp on product and didn't even bother to throw in the original case for the one of the new items. Very poor representation of GameStop and their company. Also deceptive business practices would be present here therefore they are not selling it as new but used. This seems to be common practice for GameStop especially if you're buying from their online store. Very poor presentation.

All sales final. Saved 5 months to purchase v-bucks for my son. The cards won't link to his account, and the store will not make a exchange, much less a return. So I am out money that will still be in their pocket, but they don't care.
No warning of all sales final. Manager tells me it would be printed on receipt (you know, after the purchase). Not helpful.
I will not shop at GameStop again - EVER.

If I ever buy new or used games this is where I go. The prices are usually very good. However when selling a game they do not pay much at all. I have taken to keeping my games since I won't get anywhere near enough for me to justify selling them.

Having purchased a number of online games, I can say for certain that all of my negative experiences have been with GameStop. I think most of this has to do with the fact that this has become the most well known and established video game sales establishment, but their support isn't really helpful. Their deals are not really deals when you can save an additional 10% to 20% on other websites. Amazon usually kills them in terms of deals and Steam for virtual delivery absolutely crushes them. They are decent in-store when you need something real quick, but you'll be paying the GameStop tax.

The trade in value for items is so grossly under marked for the seller (you) that its better to wait for promotions where you get a bonus or deal. They go through employees like toilet paper and sometimes, they have the IQ of such.
I have never needed to buy their discount card but I find it annoying to always be asked at the register, what happened to letting customers know with a sign or letting interested customers ask about club memberships? And if one of their employees forgets that they saw you 2 days ago despite conversing for some time about a new release, well they have a lot going on, with all the product they have to restock thats not in stock.
If you ever call in for an inventory check, make sure the representative can find the game/product box AND the item is working. Save yourself a trip and just order through eBay or visit your local video game store.

This company is a bunch of scammers and should be shut down. They price gouge by raising prices on merchandise that was cheaper a year ago because it's old to now its price as new and also they give you very low for trade in value and then resell for 4 times the amount. When you question it they tell you they have no control over these issues

I hate game stop. My brother is the manager at one here, and even he hates them. You buy a $60 game, take it back same day cause it sucks, unlike what the guy behind the counter said. "Best game ever" etc. and they're like we'll give you $9 in gamestop credit for it.
Excuse me? I wan't to get a REFUND not sell this game. RE FUND!
Screw game stop, take your business else ware.

Ordered a headset from GameStop online paid $10 for next day delivery. Three days later package never showed up, contacted call center they said it was lost in the warehouse somewhere. Told them I would like my $10 back for service they did not provide. They told me I can get it back in points told them that was totally acceptable. Had to cancel the order and re-order it not very confident the package ever show up after Reading other reviews. I'll never do this again suggest nobody else does either very very very disappointed!
Tip for consumers:
Do not use Game stop online shipping, you Will be more than likely very disappointed!!!!!! If you don’t believe me, read Other reviews on the matter.

I guess the good and bad of this place are all in which location you go to. The website blows its about as basic as you can get. The good part is going into the shop and spending 5-10 mins roaming the shelves for something cool. Some places have great people working there to chit-chat with about games, while other spots just have rude people that want you to pay and get out. I just like the former experience better. We could all go elsewhere, but good service would keep more customers in--house!
Tip for consumers:
Investing in their promembership is worth it if you plan to get 10+ games a year.

If I could give 0 stars I would. My daughter got a gift card for Christmas and used it to purchase 5000 v bucks digital download. They gave a code that did not work. They also do not give refunds. This is absolutely unacceptable. I will never do business with GameStop again!

If you want to learn about games, read reviews, then GameStop is the place to go, however other than price comparisons shopping there seems almost always troublesome. Customer service is always too late and too unhelpful to answer your problems. The prices also are not competitive at all.
Tip for consumers:
There are other options, like 99Gamers.

I made an online purchase for 4 items for $85, the package never updated on tracking. It just says label created. They're refusing to refund me, and want a police report?! On a package that says "label created?!" How in the world did this package get stolen, when it never left the warehouse! Thefts! My credit card company got me the funds back immediately, but their customer service & company is a FRAUD!
Tip for consumers:
Their company is a scam, and their employees are trained on it. Wanting a “police report” for a package that never left their warehouse, let alone scanned in. I would be LAUGHED at doing so. The only POLICE report I filed was against the company. Thanks for giving me that advice!

On November 23rd, 2023 I went to my local Gamestop to buy my son a PS5 for Christmas. With my PowerUp Rewards and black Friday deals, I was looking to spend about $800 to a $1000 for both our gaming needs. But when I arrived at 9:20 pm, the store was closed eventhough the sign posted read open til 10pm. Two clerks were inside laughing and counting money; one acted like she was going to let me in, but instead took the store hours down ( but not before I took a picture). I called customer service TWICE - nothing they could do. I submitted a complaint to BBB and the Gamestop rep apologized but last I checked, both cashiers were still employed there. Never even offered me a measly $50 store credit! I've been a PowerUp member since 2010! 14 years means nothing? I'll take my money to Walmart!

Hope this company fails. Bunch of low lifes who hate their life work here. Call the cops at the drop of a dime for no reason. Disgraceful conduct and a waist of resources.

My wife ordered 3 games from these people online and only 1 was in the package when it was opened. Local store could not help and since it was after 5 est we got no answer when we called support. The next day there is no email response to my wife's inquire and I have been waiting for someone to answer the phone on there end for 2 hours so far. From now on I purchase all my games from Amazon or Walmart I'll never deal with these people again.

I bought an iPhone with them. They shipped out with FedEx. The driver never delivered and I have video evidence. Neither GameStop or FedEx will refund me. Save your money and go with an actual company with morals and willing to help their customers. Not only and am out $590 dollars and no phone.
Tip for consumers:
Buy with anyone but this company

Nothing because I never got the phone and they will not help me get a refund or a new phone.

Ordered an Xbox controller charging dock from their clearance section and it came MISSING the battery. It was literally missing the key component that makes this item function, it is useless without the battery. They don't allow returns on clearance items (which I could understand if the customer simply doesn't like the item) but when you basically send me an empty box I think they should make an exception. I emailed them and they told me "to bad" basically. I've shopped at GameStop for over ten years and we all know they need every customer they can get. I'll never go back now because of a 10$ item but that's their choice I guess. Also, ordered a clearance item that was a shirt and it came with a stain on it lol, I just let that one go but the lesson here is never order anything on clearance, it is on clearance for a reason. They will rip you off.
