The quality and condition of the plants was extremely poor. The Clematis was completely dead, it was dry and crispy with hardly any leaves. The soil was still quite damp so this must of been in the condition when packaged. The Sea Thrift plants either had no flowers, dead flowers broken stems or just stalks, nothing like the lovely big pink and white blooms on the website. The healthier plants were so tiny and again nothing like the website which is completely misleading. I wish I had checked the reviews first before ordering. I have made a complaint but have heard nothing. I spent £60 on plants and when they arrived they are worth less than half of this, in fact if I saw these I would not buy them. To give an idea of the size of the plants I took a photo next to a 1 litre spray bottle. I regret buying from this site, waste of money.

Received the plants I ordered eventually and they were nothing like the photos and descriptions on their website. They blatantly lie on their website and send you something that's barely alive. There is no way to contact them by telephone and emails are not responded to so there's no way to get a refund. Total cowboy operation that needs to be investigated by Trading Standards.

As other's have found, if you receive plants with any problems - poor quality, damaged etc. (as I did) they are entirely non communicative. Numerous emails unanswered, no refund. They also claim that having no phone number or alternative communication method is down to them being an online business and to keep prices low. What's the point in a low price, if it's non returnable and non refundable if there's an issue. They know this and are choosing to avoid customer enquiries to keep your money regardless. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Ordered a couple of plants which arrived after a looong delay. Kept on getting emails saying to keep calm but no sight of any timely delivery. Then when I asked for cancellation and refund of my money, they wake up and tell that the order has already been dispatched.the plants get delivered to a wrong address. And in such a bad shape that it was unbelievable.
Repeated emails to them about the bad quality of plants has go me no response.
They have cheated me out of my money. I sent a message to the owner on his LinkedIn account but that too fell on deaf ears.

Bought 2 Venus fly traps and 2 Pitcher plant fly traps. All 4 plants came well packaged and was as described in description.
This is the 2nd time I've bought from gardening express and both times had no issues, will use again.

Gardening Express sent me a dead plant. Completely dead. It must have been dead days before before they packaged it for delivery.
I have contacted them six times asking for a refund. No response except for a generic message asking me for photos of the dead plant, despite me having sent photos on three prior occasions.
A word of warning: do not call the customer helpline since you will be charged considerable sums just to be kept on hold.
For anyone who has been similarly defrauded, I would urge you to report this company to Essex trading standards.

This is the second time I have purchased from garden express and unfortunately it will be the last. Thought I would give them a second change and purchased two flowering. Cherry trees. However could have bought better ones at my local garden centre for the same price, these were almost just a tall stick with a few sparse branches whereas the ones at the garden centre were bushy and covered with Blossom. Very disappointed.

Save your money shop elsewhere. Their adverts are misleading. The trees I received are awful and the customer service dreadful. Their attitude is if you don't like them return them (at my own expense of course). Why would I throw good money after bad returning their defective trees.

After waiting a long time for my three lavender plants, they arrived almost dead. I tried to fill in a ticket - it failed. I tried to email GardeningExpress - it failed. After more than an hour, my chat was answered. The person told me the plants were fine. I am a gardener of njearly fifty years experience., I do not agree. See for yourselves the plants you are likely to get.

I ordered a plant which arrived on Monday 12 June however as soon as I removed it from the box I could see the poor plant was dead. I have tried emailing, messaging through Facebook and contacting through the Gardening Express web page at least half a dozen times but have had no response whatsoever. I am absolutely appalled at the total lack of customer service and will never ever deal with Gardening Express again.

Ordered 50 dahlia tubers. When they arrived they were all single blind tubers broken off from the parent plant. These had no eyes or shoots. Complained as these blind tubers will not grow. Was told that this is normal and how they sell them and to plant them. I have grown dahlias for years and know these will not grow or produce shoots/plants. Either the company does not know the slightest about plants or are just selling rubbish, or both. I contacted them and they refuse to refund unless I post the rubbish back to them at my cost. Be warned avoid this company!

I received my order on time but I thought it was one Clematis and not the two I ordered. On inspection it was indeed two plants in 3 inch pots bound together in black plastic. BOTH plants had broken main stems and one in three places! Disgusted and disappointed. If you are proud of your garden stay clear of this company.

Don't expect plants like those shown on their web site, or as you might find when you visit a garden centre. What I received were tiny specimens, often mis-shapen and poorly looked after. The prices were exorbitant for very low quality plants.
Trying to communicate with this company is hard. Telephone doesn't answer. You get the same standardised reply to emails, replies which don't address your queries. Will never use this company again.

Order placed 27/11/2016 for Christmas presents. Chased by email (phone never gets answered) Eventually delivered 17/12/2016 in a very sorry state. Courier suggested I didn't accept them as she could see thru the packaging they were either dead or dying. Have since tried to contact them (no phone answer). And again I am told my password is not recognosed to reset it, warns you your query goes further down the line.
Im not sure this company is kosher. Think they are a rip-off or totally inefficient. Never dealt with a company like this before!

Placed order for 2 tall flamingo bushes. Ones advertised green & leafy. Wanted mature plants so was willing to pay more. Delivery stated3/5 days when eventually arrived several weeks later turned out to be twigs in pots. Contacted garden express with no joy stated they would eventually bloom & if not can send them back but I have to pay postage. Apparently they show pictures of what plants should look like not what they supply Total waste of time & money wouldn't recommend or use again

Ordered two hydrangea that arrived with few leaves despite it being in season, trying to get through to customer service is almost impossible but when I did I was told that I hadn't given the plants the right care, I'd only had them 1 day. Refused to replace until time had passed to prove they were dead. I potted them on, 2 months later after watering and feeding appropriately I just had sticks in a pot. Gardening Express then refused a replacement outright. Don't be fooled by the low prices.

My mum ordered some plants for a gift for our new house and months later they still hadnt arrived so we all have been trying to contact the company through various means and nothing worked for ages. Never answer their high price phone, dont reply to emails other than generic replies and no responses to Facebook messages other then marina which seems to send the same message to many people! Finally got our money back after contacting the fraud dept at our bank! Avoid this company!

Waited two weeks for plant to arrive, which appears dead. Just three bare twigs in a pot. Nevertheless undeterred I planted it out. Still nothing. It's a shame, as their website looks really professional, but you can't even contact them to speak to. Tried conversing with their robot which was useless. Wouldn't use them again.

I've successfully purchased plants from several companies online over the years. I wish I'd read the reviews before ordering from GE! The plants are rather overpriced and arrived within 3 weeks. One box hadn't been packed properly, so plants were all loose, but luckily not too damaged. One item was to follow, but 2 months later it still hasn't arrived. I've chased it up several times, but their customer services is appalling! They either don't reply to emails or send an automated message. A couple of weeks ago they bought in a new system to deal with queries and complaints. I used this, but still haven't had a reply! Guess I'm going to have to write the rest of my order off (£15). I don't normally write negative reviews, but this company certainly deserve one!

I ordered over £120 worth of plants which never arrived. They claim to have left them in my porch (we don't have an enclosed porch). After 3 weeks of back and forth complaints they have washed their hands of it and told me to report them stolen or take it up myself with their courier. Nice!

Robbing bastards. Simply the worst customer service I've ever had, the worst quality of plants I've ever ordered online and the worst complaint handling ever. If I could give zero stars I would. I still have not received the full order I paid for and they even sent the wrong plants I did not order in response to my complaints. How hard is it to follow an order sheet? They do not care. Some plants were slug eaten, acers were wind damaged, delivery was extremely slow (around 6 weeks) and the packaging of the plants was appalling.
