My plants took 11 weeks from point of order to arrive. Customer services and communication were shocking throughout with no one responding to help tickets and no other available method of making contact. Despite advertising at the time of order that stock was put aside and the plants that I had ordered were definitely available, one item was missing from my delivery, with no communication as to why, or when I might hope to receive it. One of my plants, an acer, when delivered had obviously been neglected at the nursery during the hot weather, and as a result has blackened, shrivelled leaves showing drought or wind damage. Plants not worth the money, customer services not worth the 1 star rating
Frankly, when they received the amount of orders that they did over the month of April, they SHOULD have shut their order book to allow them to fulfil the orders they already had. It is highly objectionable that they continued to take money from customers, despite knowing full well they were unable to fulfil them within a reasonable time frame. This behaviour makes them no better than greedy crooks. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. I will never buy from them again.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY... SERIOUSLY!
I can only support and voice the concerns and complaints of the massive number of ripped off buyers who proceeded me... shocking products and services is an understatement.

As stated by many reviews, I wish I had read the reviews before... Please do not think we are the unlucky few and that it won't happen to you. If you are like me an the many others The only thing guaranteed by Gardening Express is that they will send you poor product and follow up with equally poor service. BE WARNED

Finally received an email from Garden express and after a few email exchanges they send me replacement plants.
The process was slow but they put things to right at the end.

Shocking quality of plants and the customer service is terrible.

Had 2 orders with them and both arrived damaged and some plants were even rotten, despite submitting tickets as they requested I do, they just close the tickets down saying the matter has been resolved, but I have had no proper contact from them at all. I then get an automated email telling me to submit another ticket, why? They haven't even bothered to reply to me or to any messages I have sent them. I have even tried to contact them through their facebook page, just another generic response telling me to submit a ticket. They seem to just want to try and make it is difficult as possible for you to complain and get any resolution.
The plants are not the size they advertise them to be at all, they are packaged in a bin liners and wrapped in cello-tape and then just stuffed in a box and sent via Hermes, some of the boxes I got didn't even say fragile on them, and they were all dented and damaged.
Really disappointed and wish I had read the reviews on this company before I purchased.

If I could leave no stars I would.
I ordered plants at the start of lockdown. They took 9 weeks and 5 days to arrive.
In that time I requested a refund twice - due to the fact that it was an excessive length of time and garden centres were now opening- both requests were completely ignored.
I received an email to say my order was being prepared 18 days before it was eventually dispatched.
I kept optimistic as facebook comments were suggesting the plants were worth the wait despite the delay, and I do appreciate it is a difficult time, but nearly ten weeks was far too long. It also seems that it's only positive comments that are showing on Facebook.
The plants arrived in a terrible state - some dead, some dying. I emailed pictures and requested a refund only to be told that is how they would expect them to look and if I wanted a refund I would need to pay a courier to return the dead and dying plants! I replied to question how they would possibly expect me to pay to return dead plants to them and again requested a refund, but have had no response.
Shocking service, terrible communication, awful product. Could not be more disappointed and frustrated with them and will never use again!

I am writing to you to raise an issue about: Shopping

The issue that I have experienced was: I placed an order on 24th April 2020, I received 2/3's of the order 3 months later, 2 of the plants where nearly dead and 5 months later we still have not received the last 1/3. I have raised over 20 tickets on the website and only 3 or so have been responded to. All others have been closed with no response. The other 3 responded to where not resolved.

It occurred on: 23/04/2020

This meant that Paying £243 for plants in very poor condition and renaming order not received with contact impossible or at least a response with a resolution has upset me and my wife hugely. We don't have a lot of money and this was a big outlay. We pretty much ate left with nothing.

Refund the damaged items we sent pictures of, refund the items not received. I would have accepted replacements of the dead plants and ship out the remaining order, but waiting 5 months has gone beyond that option.

I look forward to your prompt response on this matter. As recommended by Trading Standards, I would like to keep a complete record of my case, so please reply to this email address.

Ordered and paid for plants on line with these scammers.
Money taken. Plants dispatched with Hermes UK who have lost them.
Notified GardeningExpress.co.uk: No response to my mails and no phone service.
No action, no refund.
UK GARDENERS: STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

I decided to buy plants online for the first time as i needed various plants for my new garden and couldn't carry them with my own car if i have purchased them from a garden centre.

That was a big mistake and here is why:

After browsing for couple of hours and spending over £300 on various plants such as roses, jasmines, macrophylla, etc. I couldn't wait to see them in my garden. But my dream was all shattered when i saw them delivered. Some of the Roses were tiny and had dried stems, Mopheads were completely dry and overall the quality of plants were awful. And to make things worst packaging was so bad that broke some of the plants.

Worst part of this experience was that customer service, they don't have any phone lines so all you can do is to send an email but despite various attempts they never got back to me.

I wasted my time and money with them so AVOID THEM AT ANY COST!

This company should be investigated by trading standards and the police. They just take money and then ignore you. As far as the plants are concerned, don't get me started...

I waited over a month for delivery and when my 2 plants arrived 1 was dead and the other had the flowers broken off. Really disappointing and service was appalling.

Like everyone else i have been subject to complete silence from this company also if you want to return any items you have to pay £4.95 each one and in my case five fruit trees purchased through GROUPON for £25? What sort of Gaurantee is that AVOID
Am contacting Trading Standards and GROUPON who should be vetting these companies

Absolutely awful company. Ordered plants mid April and still haven't arrived. Have tried several times to make contact via their ticket enquiry system and each time receive a computer generated response that doesn't answer any of the issues I have raised via their ticket system. Emails sent direct to their customer services email address, rather than via the ticket system, are ignored. Requests for a phone call are ignored. Have explained countless times that I will be unable to take delivery of goods if they don't arrive by a certain date, and the reason why. Asked to cancel order in the absence of a guarantee that they would arrive by that date and got a pro forma reply saying that I could cancel an order within 24 hours of making it (when my emails have clearly said that the items were ordered six weeks ago). Understand that companies are working in difficult situations but every other company I have used during Covid has fulfilled its commitment to its customers and kept them informed of delays and offered refunds etc. when not able to meet deadlines. Gardening Express just ignore people. Awful.

Non existant customer service has left me £450 out of pocket. The only way to contact them is to raise a "ticket" you get a cut and paste response & then nothing else. Scammers!

On 22nd April order pear and salix tree still no plants, after threatening to take it further, received an email saying its with yodel but tracking no doesn't work, its a shocking disgrace at least I only spent £21 feel sorry for others DON'T TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE RUBBISH X no rating at all

Plants when delivered a lot smaller than advertised ( 5cms pots instead of 3 litre). Poor packed with the added bonus? Of included slugs who of course had a field day feast during the transit with result that plants were dead on arrival. Complaints made with photos, - no response apart from waste of time standard letters. Complaints are just dropped from system rather than being resolved. TRADING STANDARDS SHOULD CLOSE THIS COMPANY DOWN

Ordered over a dozen plants, several of the plants were dried out and either dead or close to dead... managed to revive some of them, but four of them died
Raised a complaint with customer services... waste of time they said they couldn't do anything
Wish I had read these reviews first... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY IF YOU DONT WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!
The plants I received where in a shocking condition many of them already dead. I have been trying to get answers from customer service team since June without any luck just wish I would of read reviews before I wasted my money. Some of the plants where miss sold and not as discribed on the site

Sold me two pathetic acers,which looked nothing like their pictures,paid nearly £90 for them,one has now died,so I thought they would replace as they state a 5 year warranty,they haven't replied to me and have now indeed blocked me,basically they are thieves,please avoid folks *******

Delivered badly damaged and dead plants, then do not respond to ticket raised. And then eventually close your ticket weeks later. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. THEY WILL DELIVER DEAD PLANTS AND THEN IGNORE YOU COMPLETELY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Completely parched, withered, and dried-out foliage and stems on my order, which 'customer care' told me was a 'touch of frost'. I am an experienced gardener and I know this explanation was nonsense.

Ordered plants on 11th May still waiting! On the 28th June after contacting them was told they had been delivery on the 22nd June Rubbish! Then told it had gone missing repeated emails and still nothing even recorded a letter to manager on the 15th August asking refund but guess what... No response think I can say goodbye to my money This company should be closed down for they are blatantly advertising and taken money without the slightest intention of supplying plants or refunding and if your lucky enough to get any plants there are dead Save your money Go else where Avoid like Covid 19
