GW offers our family a variety of tools and accessories beyond what is available at big box home improvement stores, or even specialty hobby or gardening outlets. Many of their available tools source from quality providers in the USA and worldwide, rather than being sourced from mass producers of lower quality and less innovative designs. The online catalog is easy to access and survey what is available for a hobby, gardening or home project. And, orders are promptly properly packaged and shipped. The invoicing process was straightforward and pricing or discounts properly applied. Customer service is responsive should any issues arise.
WEnt on the web site and bought a steel pan, Looked nice and figured it would serve my needs. Tapped the button to buy and *pow* my $$ disappeared...Got a reply that it would ship"soon" yeah,right...No shipping confirmation after about a week, Went to the Garrett-Wade web site, No help there. Said I didn't make an order. Tried a couple of times and same result...Tried calling...futile effort, Seems everyone was out cooking in my new pan... Waited a couple weeks and the pan finally showed up, Third party shipper from their warehouse...As a side note: The pan is as advertised and works well.
I wanted someone to just give me an RMA and an address to return the product to. Instead, I got more work to do.
Garrett Wade NEVER disappoints! Highest quality well priced efficient and effective tools. If Garrett Wade doesn't have it, you don't need it.

Being mechanically inclined, I will always purchase the tools required for my projects from Garrett Wade.
I ordered a fly swatter and a hatchet for my father for Christmas. When the box arrived, the fly swatter was there, but the hatchet was missing. I called in right away and the customer service rep. Said she couldn't send out a new hatchet as they're sold out, so she was going to send it to a manger to see if they could find one or refund me and that I should get an email the next business day. After a few days, I submitted a requested for information via the website contact portal to no response. A week came and went and no email, no new hatchet, and no refund. So I called in again. This new rep. Stated she was sending me a replacement item and it'd arrive in 1-2 weeks and I'll get a confirmation email in 45 minutes. I got no emails that day (and yes, I look through my junk as well). After a week goes by, I call in again to confirm the new hatchet is in the mail. This customer service rep. Says nothing is being mailed to me and a refund was issued. I checked my bank and I did get a refund for the hatchet only. Shipping was $14.95 so I asked her for a refund for that as well. She stated that since I'd gotten another item, shipping wasn't refunded. I explained that I would not have shipped just a fly swatter, a $9 for $14.95 shipping if I wasn't also going to get the hatchet and requested a shipping refund. She stated she'd have to submit the request to her manager and she personally would get back to me. After a week I hadn't heard anything so I submitted a request via the website and got a response back saying my request was forwarded to the correct department. Well that was a week and a half ago and STILL NO RESPONSE. If anything goes wrong with your order, good luck getting a response or a straight answer from anyone. Everyone you talk with will tell you something different and no one will respond to your requests. Do not buy from here.

Today, my husband and I selected items from Garrett Wade after having received $200 in gift certificates from a family member. Upon the checkout process - it asked for our credit card information even though our purchase balance was less than the total amount of our gift certificates. I noticed, before the final checkout screen a small statement that said "if you haven't yet entered a gift card code, click here" so I did. All that did is send me back to the order screen. And there still wasn't a place to enter the gift certificate numbers to redeem them. So, we kept clicking back to the cart screen and finally found a place at the bottom to enter the codes. So, each code was entered (2 total for the $200) and the amounts of the gift cards were subtracted from the balance of our order. I thought "cool" it will work now. So then, we clicked the button to finalize our order and it then said "credit card invalid". And didn't prompt to go back to the payment screen or say the order was finalized - it went nowhere. Then - I printed a copy of the cart thinking I could just exit (because the order never finalized) and restart the computer, then revisit the site and try again to place the order. Yet, when I did this, it said we could no longer redeem the gift cards. I checked our email to see if the order had actually gone through. Nothing. So, it appears now that this company has essentially stolen the $200 from my relatives who generously gave us this gift as we do not have an order placed and cannot redeem the gift cards. Additionally, I am concerned that our card is going to be charged. I called customer service immediately. I was told we have to wait 24 - 48 hours to see if the cards receive a balance again and to make sure the order didn't go through. I asked what to do if in 24 - 48 hours there is still no resolve. She couldn't tell me anything nor was there any supervisor available. The only information she could give me was her first name, literally. I was also told that she couldn't take any information down regarding this issue but I could request a supervisor to call back in 24 - 48 hours. This seems extremely fraudulent to me. I have never experienced this issue with any other online purchase I have made with any company. I would never recommend that anyone give them business. What should have been an enjoyable experience has turned into a horrible one that resulted in distrust.
