Three years after my initial subscription, and a very skeptical period, I was pleasantly surprised with the professional support I received from Geekbuddy. Well worth the money for someone like me, a busy, non-IT self employed professional. Thank your Xavier (tech). You were outstanding! You fixed an issue the support site of a leading global printer/scanner manufacturer could not fix! Keep rocking on Geekbuddy!
RIP-OFF JUST LIE AFTER LIE.RIP-OFF JUST LIE AFTER LIE.RIP-OFF JUST LIE AFTER LIE.RIP-OFF JUST LIE AFTER LIE. NOT IN THIS COUNTRY NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.
Like most users have said, "geekbuddy" is a total scam. I was talking to "Bruno" in a chat for a virus issue and he said there was a bunch of viruses on my PC to which my computer crashed and I now need some sort of code to get in. Thank you Bruno for "helping".
I went to live chat due to a virus, typed everything out, sent information to the tech. Waited and waited and then the chat screen disappeared. Started all over again, got the same tech, entered all the information again, was left waiting again for about half an hour; finally typed to tech "are you still there?", no answer. A few minutes later the tech closed the chat session without any replying anything. So I wasted almost an hour while waiting for some help or at least a reply of some kind.
GeekBuddy erased my Old windows folder without my permission.
They erased my Norton security, I told them that I had just paid for the program (Norton security) and told me to get my money back. They did not ask me what I needed, of which I told them 3 times, I told them that my issue was win 7 downloading update and that was all. They did everything but what I needed. Now the files that I accumulated for the pass year are gone. I asked for my money to be returned to me, I am still waiting for a call. I would advise not to use them at all. Any company that did nothing, should not be paid. I believe in paying people for services rendered.
Title pretty much says it all. And you can't uninstall it because when you go to computer settings and "uninstall program", you get a pop up saying the program is not at that location and can't be uninstalled. If you call the customer support number, there is simply denial of this issue and a customer service representative making an advertising pitch for Geekbuddy. Ignore five star reviews on this site, as these are generated by robot.
Paid good money for one year service, had them install comodo, it disappeared. Called them back, right now 3rd geek on the job. The earlier one disappeared without a word. Never get involved with them, waste of money and terrible frustration.
This a big cone all there after is your bank info they don't know a thing about computers i had to reload window its just a scam Plus another thing to watch out for is all most all downloads there linked on to them
Started getting lots of pop ups about PC issues from Comodo geek buddy. Went to live chat and asked how come the comodo already installed was telling me I was secure so why all those alarming pop ups. Within 3 chat questions he looses patience with me and tells me that "i dont get the point", that comodo fixes malware but geekbuddy wants to (me pay for) fix my "performance" issues and then the SOB unilaterally dissconnects me from chat. No way to build a business. So long comodo
A while back before I fully understood how Comodo works, I was trying to allow a program through the Firewall. Something I couldn't do at the time, as stupid as that sounds. Anyway, I asked a Geekbuddy person to help me with my problem, he asks to take remote control of my computer. I let him do so, and then he turns off every protective setting on Comodo and disconnects without a word. I got a virus that same day.
Don't try to cancel geekbuddy you'll get a guy who speaks an unknown language
And is no help. Forget about getting back any money spent on this sham. I got this program along with Comodo security and are both companies to avoid at all costs.
If you can find a security program along with a help program made and operated in this counrty you'll no doubr, have better luck...
So... so rude... I hate the guy whom I spoke with just now. He is evil... Don't deal with these people. They don't have compassion and bad customer service. He does not want to help me telling me that he is not a teacher and that he does not work for customer service. He is a technician. Dud?! You are still in customer service. Bad practice... so so bad...
This thing is literally bull$#*!. Having pop-ups before the pc loads the main screen starts downloading stuff like chromium and we never had chromium and a virus winwar and "Anti virus programs". Never. Download. This. It's $#*!. If you want your pc filled with viruses then download otherwise never download GeekBuddy
I wasted the $169 today. I told them the problem while on the call with the sales staff who said they could fix it. Then the technical staff told me they could not fix the problem. It seems the sales staff was more intent on the subscription charge than actually fixing the problem.
I was downloading a game onto my computer and it came up with "do you want this app to do changes to your computer?" after i said yes random apps started downloading i deleted them all then GeekBuddy popped up saying things like my computer is not protected against malware and other $#*! like that, when i played a game or something on full screen it'll crash then say like Steam has crashed.
I knew it was a scam because i try to uninstall it but it kept popping up with scareware. Earlier this year i downloaded an uninstaller to remove geekbuddy thanks to their software they got rid of it, I've not gotten any scareware pop-ups from geekbuddy COMODO anymore. This is coming from a high school student (17)
I was happy with Comodo, everything seemed really good. I wasn't sure about the GeekBuddy support but at the same time figured that support is handy if that's what it is. I had a problem with my browser the first 'tech' vanished after I explained my problem, the second Geekbuddy guy also rapidly exited the coversation the third Geek spent roughly 20 mins AAAh remotely addressing my issue he then mumbled that I need Tech support and vanished leaving me with a dead computer as in nothing and I mean nothing worked. My desk top is now smashed up and awaiting recycling. So yet again sorry to be boring why is an apparently reputable company such as Comodo merging itself with these Geek ****holes?. All over the net people seem to asking should I keep GeekBuddy? Or should I disinstall it?. Don't worry they'll decide for you.
They all have canned responses. To be honest, if you say "What's 1+1?" the GeekBuddy support agent will reply with "In order to answer that I need you to give me access to your computer." I never said yes but this most recent time right after I clicked No my PC honestly got a blue screen and the caps lock light started flashing (it wouldn't let me turn on my laptop). I had to watch a video on my tablet to get my PC working again, but my PC would just freeze up each time and I had to keep repeating the process of removing my battery, unplugging charger, holding Power, etc. The only way I could fix my PC was to do a System Restore from Safe Mode. I can honestly say GeekBuddy is a scam, at least the Comodo version. I'm amazed they can somehow illegally do this to you without being sued.
Tip for consumers:
Back up your data or you may get a broken PC because they don't always turn back on when the caps lock light flashes.
Do not use this company. I was coerced into buying a 3 year plan instead of the one year. Low and behold, I was charged for both. After they "worked" on my computer, it ran the same as before. I have tried to cancel as I was told I had 30 days to cancel. They keep putting up obstacles to giving me the refund. I just received my SECOND email telling they want feedback as to why I am canceling before they will give me a refund. I already answered the first one. Oh, also I just found out that someone tried to use one of my online accounts to buy something. Really strange that this happened after I allowed remote access to my computer. Yes, I am really stupid and naïve. Please don't get suckered in like I did. I should have looked at the complaints before I did this.
Downloaded something else, and this came with it without even knowing. After doing a scan with malwarebytes, Came up with 8 PUP's. I did think something was wrong as there was heaps of fake popups saying my computer wasn't protected. Terrible. DONT NOT DOWNLOAD. Also u may have this in ur computer without knowing so be aware
I was installing games on my computer than geekbuddy automaticly installed stuff on my computer i cant delete it and when ever i play my steam games geek buddys pops up and makes me exit out of full screen saying i have 6 browser issues i close and ignore it go back to my game but geekbuddy crashes my games when i ignore it
I bought a 3-year license from Geek Buddy after the first year ( before the pandemic) it became clear that Geekbuddy is not able to assist except in the most basic kind of service- I am a home user -no business apps or special demands - just a regular guy with windows 10. - If they can't figure it out they tell you it's something wrong with your windows install ( even though it has worked for years) or some other such excuse, that they don't manage that remotely. Or something else like replacing all your drivers -that you should do yourself. After I get my regular tech guy to come in he says bull$#*!, they just didn't know what to do. My service was supposed to be 24/7 yet for the last year if I call past 5 pm No one answers the phone or the app -- you are just left hanging and that forget weekends. What they charged me would have been reasonable (but no bargain) if I got the promised 24 hours / 7 day a week service and if their techs were able to manage common problems - My advice never pay in advance - to anyone - do monthly and demand the same price for long term commitment - and don't use Geekbuddy!
Tip for consumers:
Never pay for anything from anyone in advance - if they get your money upfront, it's a mistake. They will have long-term pricing 1 year from $200 3 years for $400 Demand the 3-year price paid monthly with no obligation if you don't get what you paid for. If they refuse be willing to walk away. In most cases, you won't have a chance of getting your money back if you are cheated. They have the advantage if they have your money.

Hi I am Jane from New Jersey, I have been using Geek Buddy for the past 3 years and they are awesome, I have been having so many issues starts from performance to malware infections. I am techie myself but infected registries are too much for me. So I got a license of Geek Buddy from that moment technicians from Geek Buddy made it easy for me. I don't understand why some people say it is fraud, etc, etc, when you have a free security program you should know how to fix your issues, if do not know that then definitely you need to purchase a product to get a help. Who provides free security and free support? LOL. Will Norton or McAfee supports you when you use their free software of 30 day trial? They will not even listen to you. Atleast we get a good support for reasonable cost. I love Geek buddy
This is the worst example of customer "lack of" support I have ever come across. Their so called gurus are iinept to say the least. Completely incapable of solving problems once their "cheat Sheets" run out of ideas. I have wasted many hours talking to countless support agents who know next to nothing. I cannot completely uninstall it from my computer either other thanm doing a clean install from the boot disk to remove it. Nothing short of being malware from an Internet Security company. Oh dear.
Was having the Geek Buddy pop up on my computer, never bought it or installed it. Called to have it removed as it didn't show in uninstall programs. First tech Hannah, told me it came with Adobe, ok I usually watch for add ons but might have missed it. Asked how to remove it, hang up. Called back got someone who I could hardly understand, lots of noise in the background, like the call center is a can. He hung up. Called again got Randy, had me restart the computer, remoted in, saw what I was talking about and hung up. Called back got Justin, he told me to reinstall the trial and then it should show up to delete, he then hung up.
I did not install GeekBuddy on my computer but it just one day popped up and I have been trying to uninstall it for months. All it does is give you popups on the side of your screen with "critical issues" that are completely inexistent and annoying. Once i went to my programs to uninstall it removed the file from my computer but the program was still running. While writing this review, GeekBuddy popped up four times. I am warning you STAY AWAY!
Geek Buddy used to be excellent but now, the first thing they try and do is sell you another product, if you say you don't need it and are already covered, you then get dead responses from the Geek buddy technician.
Its horrendous, and even thought I find Comodo to be a great product, I will NOT be renewing even though I have been with them for over four years.
This stinks stop popping up on my computer screen or im really gonna complain im gonna go crazy dont use this i tryed it after it keeped bothering me and it gave my computer a virus you know how much money i spend to get it fixed im never getting that money back im 11 and i have to pay my mom back $650.98 cents i have the recept so they can come and get me
