I went looking for an auction sniper after bidnip went belly up (that was truly ugly, I ended up buying snipes on bidnip just before their issues started; they kept accepting money even when they wouldn't place bids). I have paid the extra $6 for the mirror service. They have bid on my behalf multiple times, and haven't missed any bids; sometimes I am high bidder, sometimes not, but my bids always get placed, which is all you can expect.
They do need to better explain how thr buffer time settings work. I am used to setting one time (say 6 seconds), but Gixen has 2 time settings, and I am not sure I understand the setup.
Other than that very minor point, Gixen is great. It is reliable, and does what you expect.
I need a bidding service as living overseas it allows me to sleep in the middle of the night or early morning when the bidding ends. I also want the ability to cancel my bid or adjust it whenever I want. Gixen does all of this, is the lowest price for its wonderful service, and is a totally ethical way to bid. I do not use their free service. I want to pay for it as it should not be free. I have been using Gixen for years and need nothing else. Bless you, Mario.
Try it and your own experience will confirm it's value. I have used Gixen for years, as a free service & as a paying member. The fee is so little for the extra confidence I have in my bidding, so it makes sense. Gixen never lets me down so long as I have my bid high enough. I cannot imagine going back to those early days of managing my bid directly myself without the assurance I have grown used to with Gixen. I always set up my bid on my computer since I'm not savy to do it on my phone & I'm very spoiled by all my Gixen successes over the years. Yay. Thank you!
I have been using Gixen for many years and it has won me countless auctions. It has won auctions with no visible time on the clock. The mirror unit is a great touch, if one unit does not get through the other does. Gixen is simple to use and works great.
Excellent service, has saved me many pounds over the years, long may it continue. The option (which I have always taken up) to pay very little to have the "backup" server makes the service more secure.
Virtually flawless means of setting and forgetting my auction bids with the confidence I will have the best possible chance of winning with the least cost and hassle. Price of the service is negligible compared to the savings I've netted over my many (10+) years as a subscriber. I have never been disappointed in the results--even when I do not win an auction item; but I have eked out wins with the margin of a penny in many instances. That ALWAYS amazes me! I wouldn't want everyone to use it ;), but I'd sure hate to lose it!
I've been using Gixen for quite some time since the program I was using became quite expensive to use.
I used the free version at first and found the program very easy to use with no problems. It won me many auctions which made me want to reward the site owner by subscribing to use the program especially as it wasn't expensive, and when you subscribe Gixen covers you with a mirror site to give a secondary chance in case the main site gets any problems.
I've only needed to contact customer services once and I got a reply straight away but depending on where you live you may have to allow for time differences.
I would highly recommend Gixen to everyone that bids on auctions so give it a try you can't go wrong when somethings free to use.
I've used Gixen for over a year now and have never had any problems.
I've bought quite a few items using it. A lot of the time I get out bid, but that's partly because I'm looking to pick up items cheap in auctions which I can then restore and trade at a profit, so my bids are low...
I'm a mirror subscriber which I'd recommend for any regular user, although in fact I never missed a bid because of one of the mirror's being down.
The user interface is a bit clunky, but I don't care: I used to be a Unix sysadmin and its a lot better than that stuff;-).
Mario and the community are responsive and helpful with the odd problem.
Really I just love it and think its a great deal!
PS Mario is right: Gixen doesn't work in a way which makes it at all likely to put malware on your machine. Most web sites are much, much, worse...
It is essentially free and with the mirror site has been key in getting me additional wins on ebay. I'm a collector that buys a great many items on ebay (100's per month) and instead of paying fees per items to the other snipers I used to use, I put the savings I get from using GIXEN back into my bids and my wins at auction per money input are way up. Simply put, GIXEN only cost me for the mirror site - a small fee, but that was my choice. And, if you don't use the mirror site option, it's completely free! This is a no brainer!
I work in education where I teach kids with the items I buy on Auction sites. I cannot always be there so I found this website that will bid for you on Ebay. I have used it for years and even pay for the Mirror bidding too. Very worth it! Always reliable, honest & efficient! I have used other programs and this one is best so I just use this one now. The site owner and tech support are quick to respond if I have questions or issues which I nearly never have. I have taught many kids and adults with the things I buy and I owe it all to this site!
Answer: TOTALLY LEGIT! Been a paid up user for over a decade and never had a single problem.
Answer: It is obvious the reviewer had all the problems that he incorrectly blames on Gixen because he has visited other websites that have put malware/spyware/keyloggers/viruses on his computer. He won't admit that his problems are his own fault so falsely blames GIXEN for his own incompetence.
Answer: I have not needed to reach Customer Service. Their online help is pretty good. Just read.
Answer: It just works. Simple user interface. You can just "set it and forget it". Maybe the best online tool I have ever encountered.
Answer: Nothing at all. Gixen main service is free up to 4 winning snipes a month. Reliability for the free service is 99.5%. If you want higher reliability you can subscribe to Gixen Mirror. In that case your bid is sent twice, from two servers in different regions to minimize chance of failure. Gixen Mirror is inexpensive, around $6 / year, and there are different subscription types that can be seen on the settings page.
Gixen has a rating of 4 stars from 507 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with Gixen most frequently mention many years, mirror service and ebay auctions. Gixen ranks 6th among Auction sites.
