Been a user for many years. Gixen has never let me down. If bidding on eBay is part of your life, don't waste another minute bidding directly on the eBay website. Let Gixen do the heavy lifting for you. No more waiting for that last second to try to get an item you've under-bid. Gixen will do it for you, reliably, conveniently and inexpensively. For a few bucks a year, I credit Gixen for my 90% auction win rate... while saving me the cost of Gixen many times over. Gixen is simply indispensable.
Many years ago, more than ten, I have been utilizing Gixen as my exclusive auction sniper product. The only auctions I have ever lost while using Gixen were those that I under bid.
I have used Gixen at least 100 times. I have never lost any ebay auction as long as pricing didn't go beyond my specified price limit.
The short of it? You can trust Gixen to get it done! You can also trust their administration to notify you for any changes in the site. I recommend Gixen Sniper to anyone who wants to consistently win their auctions. Set it and even if your offline Gixen will still win your auction. Good service.
The Gixen program has surprised me with its performance -- I don't often buy from eBay, and cannot afford to sit by my computer all day and all night. It was a pleasure to discover that I had won an auction! YES I highly recommend Gixen... although I do not know what will happen when everyone uses the program! For now -- very happy with it and recommending it.
I started using desktop-based sniping tools several years ago, in order to place the maximum bid I wanted without having time for afterthoughts and going above self-imposed limits. The issue I encountered is that my machine had to be on, not asleep, and connected to Internet.
The major concern I had with on-line sniping tools is that I would give my eBay password to someone else and I had to blindly trust them and trust that they would be well protected against hacking.
With Gixen I have a threefold piece of mind: 1) it does no longer handle my eBay password, 2) it provides me redundancy in placing my bid, by using also the backup server at a different location (so far, in several years, it hasn't missed any of my bids), and 3) I can set up a snipe from everywhere and I don't need to be sitting at my computer that runs the sniping program.
I never had the need to deal with the customer service, since Gixen has been rather reliable for me. Looking at the bulletin board I see that they are very proactive in dealing with all issues and glitches.
The service, on my opinion, is fairly cheap and well worth.
I've used this service many times, and it has yet to let me down. EBay is a good place to get easy and insanely cheap deals if you have a bit of patience and a good sniper, and Gixen has literally saved me hundreds of dollars (I'm not exaggerating, either). The UI isn't great and can be off putting, but it functions very well.
While the basic Gixen is free, I use the "mirror" service which offers the second server and multiple ways to customize the timing and combinations of bids and without any limitation to the number of bids. I have been a customer for about seven years with close to ******* bids on eBay during that time. You do need to understand eBay's biding rules to avoid missing out on an opportunity. While I did not win every time, I did not bid more than I wanted and often won for less than my maximum bid.
An excellent and reliable sniping tool - and the only one approved by eBay. Excellent support and with a small annual donation towards maintaining a "Mirror" service (well worth it!) it is super-reliable too.
In all my years of using Gixen it has only failed once - and that might have been me getting it wrong! My only niggle is that the user interface is rather basic, but this certainly does not warrant giving it a 4* review.
Gixen has been everything it claims. I've not needed any support from them. It works seamlessly and easily.
I had used a different system for many years. The originators sold their company to another party. After that, things seemed to be ignored (including customer support).
Gixen is the best that I've used.
Gixen is an exceptional tool when bidding on eBay. I have been using the service since the developer started, and he works continuously to make it better. Plus, he's a friendly and communicative guy. If you want to keep the service around you should donate a few bucks a year to support him. I do and it's money very well spent.
... without any problems. My ebay bids have gotten in on time, every time. Comes in handy when I can't monitor an auction end, or the auction ends too late. I have won many auctions using GIXEN. Very easy to use. I recommend it highly.
Answer: TOTALLY LEGIT! Been a paid up user for over a decade and never had a single problem.
Answer: It is obvious the reviewer had all the problems that he incorrectly blames on Gixen because he has visited other websites that have put malware/spyware/keyloggers/viruses on his computer. He won't admit that his problems are his own fault so falsely blames GIXEN for his own incompetence.
Answer: I have not needed to reach Customer Service. Their online help is pretty good. Just read.
Answer: It just works. Simple user interface. You can just "set it and forget it". Maybe the best online tool I have ever encountered.
Answer: Nothing at all. Gixen main service is free up to 4 winning snipes a month. Reliability for the free service is 99.5%. If you want higher reliability you can subscribe to Gixen Mirror. In that case your bid is sent twice, from two servers in different regions to minimize chance of failure. Gixen Mirror is inexpensive, around $6 / year, and there are different subscription types that can be seen on the settings page.
Gixen has a rating of 4 stars from 507 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with Gixen most frequently mention many years, mirror service and ebay auctions. Gixen ranks 6th among Auction sites.
