Gixen is the best - simples! I have been using it for years and have NEVER had any issues whatsoever. Log into the website, identify the item, set your bid and go to bed! Saved me £, 000's over the years (CCTV components just sniped saved over £1,000). I subscribe to the mirror service to ensure the service remains. Mario ensures the service works flawlessly and any problems are quickly sorted.
I collect memorabilia and without Gixen's excellent sniping tool, my collection would be less than half it is. It has never let me down and is the best value for money tool you will ever need.
I sign up for two years at a time.
Highly recommended.
Have been with this ingenuous software for around three years now and never looked back thinking to myself this is a total waste of dosh, quite the opposite because its been left to get on with the bid on my behalf and mostly came up trumps for me. And if I still was out bid well their welcome to It.
Great piece of kit Thanks Mario
This is great and inexpensive software that does your eBay bidding for you. Just set and forget. I'm notified if outbid, and at auction end.
Thanks, Mario!
Gixen is by far the best auction sniper you can use. I have been using Gixen for several years now. I previously tried several auction snipers that were ok, but when I tried Gixen, there was no comparison. The service is free and flawless. For a very low cost ( I think about $6.00 annually) you can add a second mirror snipe so that if there are any network glitches your bid is virtually guaranteed. If you are unsure, please try Gixen just once and I am sure you will find it very user friendly, secure and reliable.
I was using Gixen long before there was a pay option. The free service is still available and would probably suit my purposes, but I'm a paid customer because I appreciate the work that has been put into the site. It is simple and effective and when there are upgrades they are genuine upgrades and not just 'moving the furniture around' to look like something is being done. And by keeping me from getting "auction fever" is has probably saved me more than I've paid.
Gixen has served me well and never failed. Helps me to avoid bidding wars, pushing up the price. The interface may not be particularly pretty or swish modern but it just works infallibly. The mirror service costs such a tiny amount annually that it would be crazy not to use it.
Go for Gixen - you will be glad you did. I certainly am.
I've been wanting a specific Belleek diamond biscuit jar for a couple of years. A friend alerted me that one was offered on eBay. It was auction only (I always prefer buy it now). Anyway, I signed into Gixen and entered the top amount I was willing to pay. My bid was set at 6 seconds. I won the jar for 2/3 less than my top dollar, and received it well packaged from an excellent seller.
For a Yorkshireman, Gixen is perfect. A free service which does exactly what it says. I have never been let down by them and they have saved me hundreds of pounds over the many years I have used the service to place bids on Ebay. Gixen places your bid during the closing moments of the auction so you don't get caught up in a bidding race. You do not need to be on-line when the bid is placed. You can decide on your bidding limit at any time up to a few minutes before the auction closes.
I started using Gixen as a free service (Gixen places the bid from one of its servers) and it never let me down. Although I didn't need to, I decided to buy a subscription to their mirror service (bid also placed from a second server - belt & braces) more as a thank you than as a need. It cost just $6 per year (about £5).
I have bee using gixen for many years now. I think I started around 2013, maybe even earlier. I personally absolutely dislike flashy or over engineered products. I require a service that imports my watchlist from eBay and/or allows manual adding of items. The feature I rely on the most is grouping. My mode of operation is simple: I know what type of item I want and what I am willing to pay at the most. With that in mind I scour eBay and add a whole bunch of auctions that fit the bill and group them together in gixen. Now once I win one of this auctions the other grouped auctions get "cancelled", meaning gixen never bids on them. That method is super simple and has never failed me. There is a free mode but I actually pay for this service in order to support the developer as he seems not be backed by a big company. He is the programmer next door. That is rare and I like it.
Answer: TOTALLY LEGIT! Been a paid up user for over a decade and never had a single problem.
Answer: It is obvious the reviewer had all the problems that he incorrectly blames on Gixen because he has visited other websites that have put malware/spyware/keyloggers/viruses on his computer. He won't admit that his problems are his own fault so falsely blames GIXEN for his own incompetence.
Answer: I have not needed to reach Customer Service. Their online help is pretty good. Just read.
Answer: It just works. Simple user interface. You can just "set it and forget it". Maybe the best online tool I have ever encountered.
Answer: Nothing at all. Gixen main service is free up to 4 winning snipes a month. Reliability for the free service is 99.5%. If you want higher reliability you can subscribe to Gixen Mirror. In that case your bid is sent twice, from two servers in different regions to minimize chance of failure. Gixen Mirror is inexpensive, around $6 / year, and there are different subscription types that can be seen on the settings page.
Gixen has a rating of 4 stars from 507 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with Gixen most frequently mention many years, mirror service and ebay auctions. Gixen ranks 6th among Auction sites.
