Do not even think of using Gofundme for any purposes that might go against the political biases of the company.

They froze an important and popular fundraising campaign that had raised millions of dollars, then publicly stated their intention to steal the funds that had been raised and give it to another charity of their choosing.

Due to extreme public backlash they have now opted to repay all of those that donated, but clearly, this was not their original intent. That original intent was to blatantly steal the funds.

I would highly recommend that no one every give a penny to these swindlers ever again.

Crpwdfunding is a cousin to many types of funding- you ask for money and sometimes you get money. But in terms of genetic proximity, it is probably a third cousin. Because the people who give to GoFundMe give out of their heart as well as their pocketbook. They are like men in formidable jeeps roaming a forest with some peanuts in their pocket to give to some squirrels. That's all they are there for. The nice little squirrels. So they have money- and they actually want to do something wonderful with it- and only profit from the happiness they get from giving. So, they're big guys- but their hearts are bigger.

So, despite my nervousness in trying to fund what appears to be a massively important project to bring democracy to a higher level in America and possibly to other parts of the world, when I ran into trouble, the happiness team politely and thoroughly answered my questions. My happiness temperature is now above normal- and I look forward to this next adventure.

I used gofundme to start a campaign to help my best friend raise money for her U.S. citizenship. We beat our goal in just 11 days! I watcged her become a citizen less than a week ago. We plan to have a party to thank everyone who donated, but I needed the list of who donated. Because of some confidentiality clauses, I could no longer access them through my normal gofundme account. You are able to email them for that info though! That's exactly what I did. Pascale who replied to my email(within 30 mins) told me my options. They were able to get the info I needed within the next hour, maybe less. They were super excited for my friend and I! Good ppl, good company! Thank you!

I have to say, I think this company is the best company I've ever dealt with for anything in my life. Your emails and answers and explanations are so clear and helpful. You're fast and I always get a lovely vibe from each of you. Thank you x

I started to GoFundMe in June and it is now September with no funds sent to me. I have been emailing them for months, with barely ever a response. I don't even think I'm ever going to get the money so unfortunately I'm not going to be able to help the person that I need to help.

To them. This organization is fraud 100% should have read the reviews before donating the money. Ask for your money back through your bank, do not even bother asking gofundme for refund. Never ever will I use their services!

This company will shutdown your fundraising site due to political pressure. These folks will fully support one politically charged charity and do everything they can to detour a charity that has a different view. Buyer Beware!

When I was invited to attend a valuable training 2,000 miles a way, the $1,500 budget seemed an insurmountable obstacle. I decided to try GoFundMe, and was amazed at my results. Since I am a frequent Facebook user, I had a good source of supporters at hand.
The financial side of the service was well planned. I received the funds in a timely manner, and I felt the fees were fair, since it made it convenient for my supporters to use electronic payments.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the app was sometimes cumbersome to use, especially on my ipad. Only on a desktop computer was it easy to find all the features. Even there I often would loose an update already composed.
The "help" service was excellent, with quick responses that gave useful advice

GoFundMe helped our community winter recreation project in Orléans, Ontario (Ski Heritage East) raise much needed funds. Any questions we had were quickly and helpfully answered. The tips on how to set up and use the site were effective.

I was setting up a Go Fund Me for a friend which went fairly well until...
Thought I'd ended up wasting my hours and work until I wrote customer service.
Had a reply back within 20 minutes that was complete, answered everything I needed to know, told me the next steps so that I could preclude any further issues and provided me with the best customer service experience I'd had in a long while. And to top it off the representative was gracious and kind!

My experience with GoFundMe was fantastic. Although I was raising donations for a friend of mine, I could not have been happier with the results that were received. It almost didn't seem real to me until I had heard confirmation that all donations had been withdrawn and were being put to great use. I'm truly so happy and will definitely recommend GoFundMe yo anyone who asks!

Very desperate for a GofundMe account for my sister in-law as she was having problems then hours later in Cardiac Arrest. I had email Customer Service and was surprised at how fast they responded and was certainly satisfied with the answer I received. Thank-you.

I had two surgeries and lost my job, massively in debt, at the end of my financial rope and my poor cat desperately needed vet care. Go fund me donors stepped up for me and really helped me get Wolfgang to the vet and I think things will be looking up soon for both of us!

I've never experienced such quick and friendly customer care. I was worried about a error made on a donation and was amazed at getting a response back so quickly. The issue was understood and fixed in less than half an hour. It's been a long time since I've experienced service like that. I was taken back. This is a company that has not only violated the most basic privacy rules by exposing all the private information for the donors to everyone but had the audacity of actually talking the money from people and giving them to charity of their choice. People should know this platform is used to raise funds that can finally be used for totally different purpose.

I was having trouble navigating the website because I have never used it before. I had major heart surgery and was using it to help pay bills, physical therapy, etc. the representative was extremely helpful and then I was contacted by his/her boss to follow up and make sure I got all my questions answered. I looked for a way I could collect nice thoughts for my parents along with a way people could donate toward a gift and this was the site that best worked. When setting it up all my questions were answered in a timely manner even on labor day weekend.

I went to donate to a friend for pet surgery and to my surprise; the "optional" tip was a whopping Mandatory 15% tip. What? It's misleading, and even with the stories I've read of delayed action on giving the person the money raised, already knowing they keep a portion for their own expenses, I find out the new way is to literally hold the donor hostage to a whopping Additional 15% of what is donated. I will never use or donate via gofundme again. When you are misleading to begin with, it's hard to trust that anything is right about the process. The only part that is optional about the tip, is you can choose to give a higher tip of up to 30%. This is dirty, and unfortunately, the person in need is hurt by lack of willing donors.

I reached out to the support team for an unusual request with my campaign and received a prompt reply.
Although it took a couple of attempts for the fix, it was all done efficiently and with a virtual 'smile'. I felt like I was interacting with a person that listened and acted quickly to help me.
I have run several campaigns now on Go Fund Me and would always recommend as you get the help you need.

My niece had a go fund me Paige to help with burial expenses and now they won't let her have the money claiming she didn't specify what it was for correctly I will never donate money to anyone with go fund me

GoFundMe is a big joke. When they can freeze people's money and keep it themselves I call that organized crime. I will never touch this page ever I will never donate any money to you people because y'all are liars and thieves

I found their responses were VERY prompt (as promised on their website) and both thorough and professional in dealing with my queries and answered in a way that was very clear and put me at my ease. I will be back. Thank you so much GoFundMe.
