I go to goodwill in lebanon, hermatage, donalson, mt juliet, nashville, and hendersonville tn. Quite often, the product is used, so your taking a chance, you can get some good deals, and some not so good deals, i feel it's better paying a little for an expensive use product, that last forever, then paying for a cheap new product that last a month, clean bathrooms, lots of parking, and the people working there are very nice
I tried to donate a kitchen table, flat screen tv and bedroom mirror at the Falmouth, ME location. I was rudely told they did not have room for these items. I was sent to the Brunswick ME location where they picked and chose what they wanted. The table had the legs removed for shipping (8 nuts with a pair of players or an adjustable wrench). I was told the only way they would take it was to put it together. So I put it together in the parking lot while the staff sat and visited inside. So much for philanthropy! If the landfill had been open I would have taken the items there, at least they have a swap shack there. That is what I will do from now on. Goodby Goodwill!

Tip for consumers:
Donate your good condition items to any charity besides Goodwill that might appreciate your items. The only plus Goodwill offers is multiple locations and weekend hours. But what good is that if they do no take your items when you get there?

Open up your dressing rooms u say it's because of theft hire a person to attend them if someone is there counting your pieces like Ross then there won't be theft but I think the reason there not opening the dressing rooms is because they will be loosing money if people try on there clothes and they don't fit they don't buy them but if no dressing rooms and u buy them and they don't fit you have a whole 7 days to return them for store credit so they make money so much for helping people and most people can't afford to shop there any way you charge way to much you can go to Ross and get it cheaper.
This organization as a whole can not be trusted. Right down to the employees. Use to shop in stores for years and that went to hell. Tried online which I never thought was a worse experience. No accountability across the board. More lost items, electronics that don't work, or their fall too is abandoned. You are actually better shopping with ebay where as a buyer you are covered in the event of fraud which seems to be common place with this organization. Just look at their Better Business Report where there is 10% resolved issues out of 100%. That pretty much says it all. What is abandoned is any morals anyone must have to work for this place. "Putting people to work" on the backs of others. That should be their moto. I'm surprised they haven't been shut down yet. Again shop with ebay where at least you are covered as a buyer.
Tip for consumers:
Just check their Better Business Reviews. 10% issue resolution.

Overpriced, greedy, immoral criminals. They ruined the concept of thrifting and the company. Managers tell employees to purposely price things high because someone will buy it or it will get tossed. They also, after tax writeoffs, do not even pay the workers. Shameful and disgusting face of capitalism.
Tip for consumers:
It's not the employees fault. This is straight evil corporate policy. Look up how much CEO makes without hidden bonuses and kickbacks. This is NOT a charity. SCAM

This store is a ripoff now. Better to buy new.
Goodwill has become outrageously priced. Who wants to pay retail/more than retail price for USED items. People need to stop shopping at these stores. They receive FREE donations, charge astronomical prices and pocket the money. As usual, the rich get richer. I will not EVER walk into one of these stores again. What a JOKE!
If Goodwill is suppose to be charitable and helping the community then why have they taken books out of the stores? I watched as huge boxes were being loaded into trucks to be disposed of and not put out on shelves. I aske the manager why. He stated because they are too big a hassle. What? Really? Instead of promoting or helping people to read more they prefer to dump them because they are too much of a hassle. Give the books away, I guaranty they will disappear with no hassle. So so very sad that's what Goodwill has come to. I truly hope people read this and pass it along. Shame on you Goodwill.
I purchased Ray ban sunglasses online from Goodwill Columbus 023, the glasses came with certified Authentic certificate. I knew they were fake the minute I picked them up, not to mention the nonexistent serial # on the glasses...they are not even a good fake. Now what?
Tip for consumers:
Authenticate first is a bad authenticater...they certify glaringly fake Ray Bans, with goodwill online Columbus 023
The manager is rude and does not help people but has good items and i got a couple lucky finds of video games
Goodwill is the one thrift store I will always avoid. They take your donations, and then sell them at an extremely marked up price. Every time I've gone, it looks like they're selling trash on the shelves, such as a 2/3 used candle for $3. The owner is very rich at the expense of people who don't have it as well off. I wish they at least gave back to those who need it in some way like they claim they do. Old stained t-shirts for $6 just don't cut it.
Goodwill has never really helped the community. Single parents in need gets laughed at by this greedy organization. The founder lives in a multimillion dollar home while people in need gets turned down for help.
I always urge people to donate else where. Such as local thrift shops and salvation army. As they really will go out on limb to help those in need.
Over priced on top of everything else that's wrong with this nothing but profit and tax deducted BS
Tip for consumers:
Not worth it

Goodwill stores are horrible places to shop. They get everything for free, then charge high prices. They do not encourage mask wearing. There is no social distancing. Workers are not protected. Managers reward lower management who are rude and lazy.
They price items at retail or at best ebay pricing. Unfortunately, the items are not tested or even properly inspected. Even when something goes "on sale", it is still priced way too high for the fact someone didn't want it and donated it to them in the first place. I purchased an item a month ago and have written 3 times requesting status of where it is but only hear crickets. And yet they keep the money... No way to run a business or garner support of the community for donations.
Placed order, didn't receive any response what so ever after the purchase. Ordered on the 1st of Jan. 2023. I've sent multiple emails requesting info. About my order. No one has ever replied. On the website, it clearly shows my purchase, my credit card was charged. No communication, no status change, no shipment tracking, nothing. It's now been 9 days, Nothing
I ordered three items off the goodwillfinds website. One came broken, and two things never arrived. I have now emailed 8 emails over the course of two months and I have had no luck getting anyone to refund me for my purchases or at the minimum contact me to tell me what is going on. They committed fraud since they kept my money and nothing was given in return. I had to contact my bank to get my money back. The whole thing was the worst online experience I've ever had with a company, so if you're thinking of shopping with them seriously just don't.
I have placed many orders with this website. I have not received over a sixth of the orders. I have received a few wrong items. Three items broke in transit. This website hides broken parts of things. I have sent numerous emails since 11-25-2022. There does not seem to be customer service.
Tip for consumers:
Run. There is a good chance something will go wrong with your order and no one will do a thing to help you.

Plenty of items are overpriced, you can get underwear at DDS brand new for same price same as bikinis or bathing suits. Jackets are same price as retail in Ross and other stores. Skirts n pants are again same price as brand new clothes in Burlington and others. Some bags are fairly priced but overall is not worth it.
Here is what I got today in my message from GW... I wanted them to take the back cover off the radio. It takes a quarter to insert it in the screw and turn it... that is it... and this is the answer I got when I asked them to do this.
"Thank you for your message. The battery case is closed with a screw. We do not dismantle items that have a secured cover.
If you have any questions or concerns feel free to message us again.
Batteries can be in this radio, and burst and corrode and destroy the radio, BUT THEY will not open the back up to see...
The GW workers seem nice enough, however nice doesn't get you a nice instrument.
I have purchased way more instruments (guitars and amps) than I should have.
Being a retired pro and knowing something about what I was buying,
I guess I was feeling lucky... wrong. I have tried to help GW by requesting more accurate descriptions about the instruments, even suggested what angles to take photos at so everyone may see the instrument in a better light (that fell on deaf ears). And I couldn't believe the idiots that bid so high on an instrument when the same instrument could be purchased on another website that has a much better description and better images for less money... is that the true meaning of lame or is it something else? Buyer be aware, even if you are feeling lucky.
I ordered 2,237.04 between 24 items. After the packages all came in. There were 4 items missing, it took me almost 3 weeks to find out my items had been cancelled and after all the hoops. There is no way to directly complain to the main e-commerce office. They don't reply to the in site portal... They commited fraud and didn't even care.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site. Had I not said something, they would have gone on like nothing happened

Im not going to name specific store. In Wichita Ks area. I was overcharged quite a bit. Assistant manager or someone equivalent helped me resolve (haha) issue. My problem I had to make a special trip back to store in a location 50+ miles away from me. Was somewhat accused of removing a tag from an item so, according to clerk, I could get a cheaper price. Clerk accuses me and then actually really does steal from me! So on my return I was compensated for 29 items I did not purchase. And Charged a higher amount for the three things I did. It wasn't a great amount but... Where was my compensation for gas? Why not say hey we will eat the extra charges instead of saying you have to pay this price. Clerk was new was excuse. Well i dont know if this makes sense but I won't spend anymore or donate anymore to Goodwill. They really are a profit regardless of there motto, company.

Final thought READ YOUR RECEIPTS FELLOW CUSTOMERS you could be next
They take freely donated goods by hardworking Americans who want to help people, they auction it off online at near or sometimes retail prices and they use the money to pay WORKERS to WORK FOR THEM. If that's not definition of modern day slavery I don't know what is. Its also Fraud. This is not goodwill at all. It Self funding, for profit, not nonprofit. I would have been nonprofit if the money was used to feed and house people. Not to hire and train people to do a job, especially disabled people who should not be working at all.
Tip for consumers:
do not donate to them - start your own nonprofit instead
Snopes, urged people not to donate to several organizations including Goodwill, stating, "CEO and owner Mark Curran profits $2.3 million a year. I'm urging people not to buy from Goodwill!
I visited my Goodwill Neighborhood Store Today. The price on a few small statures was listed $12.99 EACH, and Three-Dollar Tree Candle Holders were $3.99 Each. I learned from the Manager,
The person hired for that job looks at the object and determines how much she/he thinks it's worth. The reflection on the pricing at the Conway store is more for profit than Charity! Who is pricing the items at your neighborhood, GoodWill store?
Tip for consumers:
Goodwill is for profit!

They put flowers inside a vase with a separate tag then when I got to the register they pulled out the flowers and said the vase was 10 and the flowers inside was 10...they also accused me of playing with the price tag which I never did and I was made to feel like I did something wrong when I did not. They in fact was the con here trying to hide the price of the flowers inside the vase and that way at the register it would be a surprise to the customer who would then cave in and buy both the vase and flowers which they wanted 10 each for. There customer service was rude and they treated me like a criminal just because I have tattoos. I was ready to ask them to look at the camera and clearly see I never touched there price tag on the vase. They definitely lost me as a customer.
Went to goodwill for jeans today and found out there were no changing rooms. I also couldn't just buy the jeans, try them on and return them because they changed their return policy to an exchange policy. I have a bag of clothes that I thankfully didn't bring here yet. I want them to go to use, not sit on a rack because no one can try them on to see how they fit. Not to mention how I'm not making any money from the clothes we as the public are giving goodwill to reuse and make money off of and you as a company can't even provide changing rooms for us… I'll be bringing my clothes and my money to a different thrift store from now on
I placed an order on 1-8, I never received a confirmation email, but my credit card was charged. I have sent many emails asking for the status of my order and never get a reply. I will be contacting my credit card and filing a fraud charge.
