I did contact them, they replied with a canned boiler plate, yet had ZERO proof of anything. They will happily take your money. I paid for a year and got banned after 3 months? BTW As a data analyst I took note of over 300 replies, into which only 3 turned into anything, and of those 3 only 1 finally turned into something worthwhile. Yet the site on a daily basis has people on there for "roses" in the form of venmo, paypal or some other cash app. Also people sending you to websites for ID check, I got scammed for 40 bucks, but my CC removed the charge. Or websites in general for cams and videos shows. All I wanted to so was have some fun.

I got banned from site, when contacted the customer support, a canned mail was sent staying i bullied, harassed and was racist. Idiots that's too much to say about a individual. I felt disturbed as that is not my nature.

When asked for chat transcript I was told sorry to let you go, we can't provide. After that my numerous mails remain unanswered. They treat LGBT customers as sex starved people and don't have basic customers support ethics.

The largest LGBT dating site is riddled with auto boi. Spam. Commercial. Massage. Escort guys... drug peddlers. Who recreate new account withIn seconds of ban. And they recreate it every time. It's appalling to know how easily the security can be compromised.

All I did was reporting of commerce guys and why a pic of me in vest and shorts sitting on couch is sexual suggestive, while the site is filled with guys in underwear in bedroom with their private parts outlining. And the next thing insee I banned message from grindr.

The so called largest LGBT site is serious security concern, no uniformity in moderating the pics. Have no control on spammers, prostitutes, drug peddlers who easy recreate account numerous times.

The customer support is non existent. They treat LGBT community as pieces of $#*! and sex starved pathetic human beings. The customer support lacks customer focus, customers who report gets banned.

I was a paying member for a year and played by the rules. Therefore I renewed my membership for a second year. Halfway through my membership, I received a notice that my account was banned. No explanation, no reasoning, no help. Arguing and pressing was futile. Grindr hid behind policy stating they protect their customers, yet leaving me to feel like a predator. Which I can assure you, I'm far from it. I'm certain I'm the victim of identity theft or some strange circumstance of falsification. Nonetheless, Grindr stated that when you're banned, you forfeit your membership fees. No reimbursement or pro rated refund. I'm not saying don't give Grindr a try. But if you're considering a paid membership, go with monthly or 6 months. In case you're wrongfully banned, you won't forfeit a whole year's membership.

Grindr seem to go out of their way to ignore reports of sexual harassment or crime on their app. If you report harassment, you get banned! If you email, they ignore the reports.

Ban Grindr
May 22, 2019

I believe Grindr should be shut down. As much people are physically hurt/jumped, raped, molested, robbed, drugged, lied to, cheated on, drama created, deceiving, underage, kidnapped, murdered, and I can keep going on. This app should be banned from everywhere! This app is not only killing people, starting addictions, drug trafficking, human trafficking and from ruining relationships to destroying families. This app is truly a Zero star. Thank you everyone for reading this and be safe and take care.

FROM BAD TO WORSE!
May 17, 2019

I wrote a review about this company before. Needless to say it wasn't very positive. Now it's gotten even worse. Over the years, I have purchased two, one year paid memberships. Both times there have been issues. To this day they still cannot figure out why blocked profiles becomes unblocked and it's been at least 4 years since I reported it. Now, the app locks for about 60 seconds when first opened and they have no answer for that either. That along with the drug dealers and scammers trying to get people to join their fake websites that require credit cards, it's not really worth the effort. We report them but nothing is ever done.

Well, yesterday I was BANNED! Yup! BANNED! And, the best part is, they won't tell me why. Just that they received "reports" that I broke their rules and regulations. When I asked which one(s) I broke, they refused to tell me. Just that it was based on "reports" (see attached pic)

I have used this service for numerous years without any issues regarding their guidelines and now, out of the blue, without so much as a reason why, I am banned. Their agent Cesco seems to feel this is appropriate even though I asked 4 separate time what I did wrong. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

IF you choose to use this service, use the free version. It's TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT to buy a subscription. The system has far too many bugs and scammers. Be VERY aware of who you chat with. If the pic seems to good to be true, it probably is. As soon as they say they're away in the military but show as being in your immediate area, it's a scam! Also, there's no service that you need to join to prove who you are because the person you are chatting with was attacked. It's a scam!

Don't say I didn't warn you... There are plenty of other awesome apps out there.

Grindr is a total scam. Full of drug users, bots, trolls, prostitutes, and other garbage. They literally make any conversation a potential violation of terms. The app that normalized "nude pics" has a ban on nudity, IT IS A TOTAL JOKE! Their code of conduct is insanely vague, impossibly broad and they try and declare an authoritarian reign over refunds! This app is a total POS! They take your money and then ban access under undisclosed violations of terms. Their annual fee will automatically renew, even if you are "banned". SERIOUS GARBAGE!

I've been a member of Grindr for years & never had any problems. Suddenly I have been banned, despite repeated requests to reconsider John in customer support refuses to help or listen to my plea of innocent. I have never abused the guidelines nor sent any messages that would violate their policies. I don't know where to turn next, help anyone!

Works as it should. I've never had any trouble with getting banned or my pictures having to be censored etc. I will say it is rather buggy and the guys on here are rather shallow but as an app is not terrible. I've used it since they launched and they've done a long way. Their prices for premium membership is absurd however and I won't pay it. (20 bucks a month)

I was advised I was reported for violation of Grindrs terms and conditions. When I contacted John G. In customer support he would not tell the the specific reason for which I was banned. I repeatedly requested an impartial 3rd party binding arbitration as provided in their terms and conditions and never received a response. Its a shame they expect members to adhere to their terms and conditions but they don't. I've sent a letter to the office of the chairman of the board of Beijing Kunlun Tech Co. Ltd., majority interest owner of Grindr, asking them to review my situation and now waiting for a response. Hopefully someone higher up will be concerned about how customer service is mistreating it's members.

How they get away with treating their customers the way they do just boggles my mind. I've had so many friends tell me how they've been treated by Grindr support staff in the past. Being banned without any explanation at all. They didn't ban me in all the 10 years I've been using it on and off. However that all changed. I was banned a while back and couldn't figure out why. I have a new email address these days and registered again a few days ago. I was banned again tonight so I emailed them and all I got in return was my profile was reported for "Spammy activity." You couldn't make it up!

I messaged back saying how on Earth could I be responsible for "Spammy activity? It's clearly someone local harassing me by falsely reporting me and you can't even be bothered checking!" I didn't even get a reply. These cowboys are part of the reason the the whole gay world is falling apart. Absolutely no morals or interest in customers. Just take take take! I'm sure if they had an ounce of decency they'd be embarrassed by their bullying way of making money. I've read some of the reviews and more interestingly the responses. One generic response in particular stating they can ban anyone at anytime for any reason.

How that gets around the legal systems beats me. How I read that is... If they don't like your face, colour, profile, orientation etc they feel they can just ban you. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! You should be ashamed of yourselves and your false ethics. Oh and don't bother to blather back with your generic fake responses. I will be complaining to Google, I don't know in depth how app regulations work but surely this can't be right to treat people like scum?! You are a DISGRACE!

Grindr lets anyone to steal pictures, no protection it does not protect gay community. Anyone can get a screenshot and use that picture or post anywhere else. Why Grindr cannot introduce something like a symbol on pictures (for example GR) and if someone uses a picture with with this symbol not allow to upload.
Recently I had a really bad experience. A crazy guy used my pictures as profile picture and described I have STD and drug resistant syphilis. I am a medical professional and I know how to look after myself. The same person used my Instagram in this profile. Grindr does not protect personal information.

Horrible Service
February 21, 2019

I created an account and within 2 weeks, they banned me without factual reason. My experience with Grindr has not been great since things cost money to use the app or you do not find what your really looking for. Images can result to ban or will not allow you to update. They are not the best site to utilize, don't waste your time and try something that actually works.

Worst gay app imaginable
February 11, 2019

The discrimination given when you're trying to post pictures is absurd. There is some real sleazy underwear pictures on there. I tried to post a pic of myself shirtless cut off at the bottom of my chest and it keeps getting denied. It makes no sense my face is in the picture and my chest that's it. They say underwear picture is not allowed yet there are plenty of them on there with bulges. I wonder who is banging who to get their sleazy pictures approved yet mine which are completely rated G are denied. This app is a complete and utter joke.

It used to be a good app about 7 years ago. I used to meet real people. It was purchased by a Chinese firm and is filled with fakes and scammers. The profiles steal photos from other sources and create profiles that appear to be in your area but they are from China, Philippines, Russia and Africa. (Probably left over internet trollers used by the orange pig to win the election. Don't waste your time because the people in support with their stripper names are not real either

Complaint's: 1 month paid review 19.99$ - Owned by China, Support SUCKS email only, not enough description space, cost/app not worth it very risky, chatting, profile review free unlike any dating/sex site which makes it even more RISK -death count? After payment 90% chance of getting banned on terms conditions for something you didn't do or no proof again support SUCKS, too easy to open account countless scam's overseas and abroad. Committed fraud with the help of APPLE STORE.COM countless times, one reviewer say's "They are thieves", couldn't be truer! Apple should know better!
Yes, we need a great dating site that supports itself by AD's, lower membership fees for all and tightens the security, risk, death's that happen all too well on dating sites. We all need to and deserve love which these day's is hard to find specially in the gay arena, c'mon investor's you can make money but getting rich on someone else's attempt at love is just another sick scam in my opinion.

Grinder has been purchased by a private gaming company in China. Between each keystroke, you have to sit through a two minute app. A game company in China knows nothing about the community this app was designed for. Since the complete takeover in January, the number, and required viewing time for ads has gone to 7%-80%.

You can't even type a simple sentence to someone without two minute interruptions every few keystrokes. The tone deafness is obvious when one sees ads for hunting, children's games, and birth control. Yes, there are some interested, but I don't think the advertisers would consider the money well spent.
