Gayquation

My experience: I was very nervous before coming in. As it was the first time and I did not know what to expect. However, when I got in and spoke with Nick I felt more relaxed, also seeing all of the other newly out people there as well was reassuring. Friendly, felt very protected and safe with my information. Nick is very frank and realistic in his approach. It was not so daunting as I thought it would be. Also, the masterclass helped me to identify what the important "deal breakers" are for me. The advice given gave me the confidence to ask what was important to me and how to ask these questions. When I got to my first meet itself, I was much more relaxed and confident – something I have never felt in that type of situation.

I appreciate what my Coach/Matchmaker (Nick) helped me through. I am HIV poz and I live in the Bible belt - and my closet door has not swung all the way open. I also felt like I had bled dry the entire single gay scene, whatever that may be, in my area. He turned up some guys I would not even known had existed before coming to him. Yes I am still a member which means we've not found the love of my life... yet... but I remain hopeful. He discloses my status, makes sure they are ok with it, and I got some dates that helped me learn a lot about myself, what I was looking for and how to improve a first date - like body language, energy, what to look for, etc. Thank you Nick for building my confidence up. The coaching is just what the doctor prescribed. I wish it could be every week though, which is my only little negative. Otherwise nothing but praise. The suggestions and tips did help me work through a lot of issues I was facing. My offline approach was lacking so that really changed with the coaching. Most must feel the same problem, in that gay men have a knack of disappearing but I have been able to temper my expectations and move introduction along into something more. Nudge it, don't push as my coach says. With no gay male friends in my life, the sounding board and advice has been invaluable to me. I am appreciative. Even if I am paying for it, thank you in all sincerity. =)

Dating in the internet era can be frustrating and more than a little annoying. After many years using a variety of self-service websites like Match and many others, I decided to "outsource" my search by hiring a matchmaker. From the start, Nick has been thoughtful and encouraging. We've been working together for more than a year now, and while I've only connected with a handful of men and none of the connections have led to dating relationships, all of Nick's referrals have been reasonable and within my parameters. Yes, some proved to be flakey, but I realized early on that Nick is a guide to help navigate the dating waters -- he's not a miracle worker who can make "the one" suddenly appear. I remain impressed by how hard Nick works for his clients, and I'm hopeful that one day soon he'll make that special match.

So some quick hits from my first 2 months:
Matchmaking: good if you're a busy professional or hate the Apps as they scour every nook and cranny for matches and follow with background checks. They basically do the work for you with better screening tools. Month to month membership so I like that.
Momentum add on: I didn't require it. Supposedly useful for those who need a assistance/advice post-introduction
Coaching: I just added it because I wanted some help with my offline game and do not have any single gay friends to bounce ideas off of. It is month to month as well.
Overall: 4/5

I was so exhausted screening for good guys out there. Some respond, the ones you want don't - flighty, flaky. They helped do this for me and appreciative for the service since they are exclusive to gay men seeking something long term. It's the equivalent of bringing someone on your team - an efficiency expert. They compare it to a headhunter who filter out the BS. I totally agree. Recommend.

The Kayak of matchmaking - that is the best way I can describe when friends ask me to. If not sure, start with 2 intros and work your way up to get a grasp of the process and type of guys you will be presented. A senior matchmaker is assigned if you elect for 4 per month. Happy to know there are no contracts. When you see is what you pay with the match guarantee which helps those who "picky" like me and live in a non-metro area. My phone interview, which lasted over an hour, was also very thorough.

I am relatively new but after spending thousands of waste less dollars on a local company, I decided to roll the dice with gayquation - they seemed affordable. I am thus far pleasantly surprised. I did not have expectations going in because of the low price point. I have met several men and remain hopeful as I am also open to making new friends being a newly out gay man. I am also too busy to be searching for quality candidates so that's why I went this route. I do realize they are not God but I do like someone filtering out the bad weeds out there. I will update if allowed in the future.

Dating app fatigue brought me to a personal matchmaking service and gayquation. I found them on a random search and happy I did. They do all the work for me from screening to vetting so it does help skip several steps for me and save a ton of time. It's not an excuse as my coach has, rightfully so, suggested I keep my eyes open as well. But it's nice having someone speed up the process and wittle away the BS out there.

I wanted to say thank you to customer support for being so speedy and professional. Three days after my phone interview I had an unforeseen emergency. I contacted my matchmaker and within an hour he processed my refund. I felt bad for the time he had already spent but he didn't blink twice and understood my situation. Customer service contacted me shortly thereafter with an email confirmation. I will definitely be back once things settle down. From what I experienced thus far, the company is quite impressive. I started with an hour long consultation with a senior matchmaker, who didn't rush the call and answered every single one of my questions. My interview followed after I signed up and filled out their questionnaire. It lasted over 90 minutes and was very thorough and he provided me excellent suggestions in terms of my criteria. Again, I will be back for the next phase of the process. See you hopefully in the summer!

Thank you for your service and hard work on my behalf, it's not lost on me. I understand how much effort you have to put in especially with us 60-year-olds. You didn't say that but I'm saying that LOL. Keep at it and I will do the same with your advice, however unfiltered it is sometimes. I needed that and I believe most gay men do. Ive used gayquation for about three months now and Im satisfied thus far with the results. A couple dates, a couple fizzled out but I cant fault them for that. I dont necessarily have the time to go on tinder and other hook up apps so appreciate the second pair of eyes. If anything it saves me a bunch of time going through endless profiles that end up going nowhere.

I am a newly out gay man, 42 y/o, 1 child, divorced, living in Phoenix. The coaching I received was a God sent. The last time I was single was AOL chats (remember those?) and I had to not only rediscover dating but dating in 2018. It is very different to say the least. My coach/matchmaker did a great job in getting myself back on that horse and figuring out what I want - as a gay man. My first pride month too! Wish me luck.

I tried to join their service and was left stood-up waiting for the matchmaker to call me. If they can't even follow up with a phone call when they say they will, can they be trusted to do any legitimate matchmaking? Don't bother.

If you've been on and off dating websites for years... Because your friends are in relationships and hardly go out anymore... Or you're new in town. That was me in a nutshell! Thank you to Nick and the team for making me feel welcome and (nudging) getting me back on that horse. I met a great friend who has since become my travel companion. We just returned from a men's Caribbean cruise. Thank you for the introductions and continued hard work on my behalf. Although friends are invaluable, I am hoping my future hubby (and Netflix binge companion) will turn around that corner any day now. And hopefully before the holidays. Thanks a heep...

Julian and Chris were so patient with me as I am picky and I want what I want. I gave very stringent criteria for their search. I have been unsuccessful in relationships and have been taken advantage of and hurt by numerous men that I had kind of threw in the towel and was skeptical. However, Gayquation helped me meet Edward and Juan. Although, they turned out to be friends the last introduction that came as a surprise "bonus" match actually turned my head. So far its going well with Malcom and although we are not exclusive just yet we are on our way there and I couldn't be happier. Just wanted to say thanks to Julian and Chris for their time, effort, and expertise. Crossing my fingers and wish me luck.

Thanks to Nick and Greg, who are both invited to my wedding if they can make it, I found a great guy who I plan on spending the rest of my life with. God knows we had some bumps in the road but I stayed persistent and learned how to be a better "dater" with the guidance of my coach/matchmaker. I am happy to have found these guys. 2020 was a forgettable in so many ways. Vaxxed, it's summer and able to travel. I am sure, like most, we are all busy socializing to catch up for lost time. At my age, a ripe 62, a little assistance goes a long way and it has. Along the way, made a new friend with whom I'll visit the Cape with this summer. In the meantime, crossing fingers on a friend AND lover. I appreciate the support and understanding.

I just simply don't have time to sift through profiles and figure out their intentions. I decided to find someone or something to outsource this too, as I often do professionally. I figured, why not in your personal life. Happy with the investment i made. It's beem early, but they've done more than I could have done, in a short span of time.

Sadly, I feel I paid too much for what I received, $150 for 4 "unmatched" men. Nick was friendly and responsive; he just couldn't find me 4 matches I was interested in. Comparatively, FB matched me almost daily with more attractive, eligible men, in my area. You do get what you pay for... and this may be cheap in comparison but I'm better at this than they are - so disappointed.

A quick thank you to the GQ team for being on my team. I am looking forward to the future and you may be a big part of that. Being new to the country has made things challenging so this truly helps me in more ways than you can imagine. Keep growing and happy you are opening up to other parts of the world. It's defintely needed believe me.
