Im a professional therapist, with 10 years of experience and a level 5, has posted an ad very simple to promote myself but this is the 2end time I post my ad and they remove it telling me that im not respecting there policy, I swear all what I posted is strict professional, first time I got my refund by forcing my bank, the second time I did change my email and posted again and still very professional, and they send me my ad is live but wasn't when I spoke to some customer service they told me they can't tell me where is the broken policy. But yes they will keep my money. Please do not post in this $#*! of site.

Gumtree the company is a scam. They market the Gumtree site as free to post adverts, but if you do not pay to bump your advert, they block you as a user. There is no customer support to discuss being blocked. They should be investigated.

I have have been using Gumtree for years. Now, every time I try to post an ad it says, "Your ad has been removed from the site because it breaks posting rules. We've emailed you to explain why." I do not receive an email from them to explain why. The items I sell are not restricted and I have used the site for similar items in the past (e.g., child stroller). Also, for some reason, all of my previous posts (i. E., successful sales) on Gumtree have also been listed as "removed" under Manage my ads.

I couldn't be more unhappy with GumTree after they removed the Job Wanted section that had worked for me as a sole trader available part time. My adverts gained loads of views and I found clients.

But after they removed the Job Wanted section to startup a dedicated Job Section, I saw how they had given all the power to employers but took away the power for job or work seekers advertising their services.

They have a services section but the views was 80% less than the Job Wanted section. They upped the price of advertising from £7.99 to £10.99 to add insult to injury when I discovered that it was a complete waste of money.

Why change something for the worse? Who had come up with the decision? GumTree is nothing to me now. I cringe when I think about it.

Suffice to say, I won't be sinking another DIME into that useless website.

Don't bother listing or buying anything off this site. It honestly cannot be trusted. Pretty much half of the people that contact you are just phishing and scamming. Gumtree have done nothing to enhance security or confidence in it's platform.

Absolutely rubbish! First of all this site is dodgy as hell and customer service are even worst! They sound like draconian and dictorial! Just blocked my account without any reason! When asked why basically just saying we did because we can! They promote scammers and ban ligit people! Unprofessional and rude management, no place in a civilised world!

Tried my first ever sale on Gumtree, a kayak for £600. Within a few minutes of the listing someone said their sister wanted the boat. I was asked to email photos to the sister which I did. The sister turnedout to be a scammer. The [ayment method they ultimately insisted on using would involve me spending £50 and then getting £650 once I had done this. Its all a con. I had an almost identical second enquiry later that day from another 'purchaser'. I have had no genuine enquiries at all. I think Gumtree could screen out these scammers. I dont think I will ever use gumtree again, t wasted a lot of my time, and some scammer out there now knows my email address, my postal address (for the pickup) and my phone number (ditto).

Do not trust this gumtree.uk! I transferred the money for the first time in my life to publish an urgent ad about the sale of my daughter's baby pram, but the staff of gumtree.uk said they simply do not trust me and they are not going to return money! Freaks!

I paid £99 for a premium advert for 14 days... £99! Bad enough you would think. Well they had anyvan sponsored adverts on my paid for premium advert. Come on Gumtree explain... I bet you do not! AVOID THIS RIP OFF

I literally posted an ad today ad I am selling my car and literally within an hour I have had 10 calls from insurance companies and solicitors asking about the "accident" I had recently! I haven't had one! So annoying it's untrue!

On looking to purchase a car thought I would try Gumtree only to find that every car I made contact with where side street car traders giving all the time wasting chat but in fact just more scammers buying and selling cars but not paying TAX.
Its about time gumtree took action on this practice a private ad should be just that not a car trader with loads of different accounts, Should you be looking at cars on the site take the phone number & place it in google search all ads will pop up containing the number.

Arranged for individual to collect a 3 seater settee. Gave full details, phone, address and arranged time. Settee was humped through house and taken outside so it was ready for individual and they didn't have to move it themselves. ( I have a defibrilator and wife has arthritis) Person never turned up would not reply to emails.

When I left a review to say didn't turn up they reponded with a review to say we were unhelpful. The only way we could have been more helpful was by taking it to their house and sitting on it for them.

Customer service in Gumtree is useless, toothless and unprofessional. They said they don't get involved with comments and anyone can put anything so what meaning does their review system have. It's meaningless. At least eBay follow up.

They want to compete with eBay but are unwilling to do anything for it.

Sell it in a newsagent with a postcard - it's more professional.

God help you if you need to contact customer services, even worse if you are communicating with Charlotte.
Placed a advert to sell a property, paid £55 to have it on a prime slot for 7 days plus paid for web site link, link just did not work, by the time customer services reply advert is finished they have your money and couldn't give a hoot.
Then we have Charlotte on customer services, spins a load of bull as to why link does not work and when challenged says another thing, said she would refund cost of link and posting fee, this did not happen as yes you've guessed, was told advert was still working and would now only return URL link fee,
Total waste of money, disgraceful service, would have been as well burning the money in the garden

Not recommended this platform time wasters and money wasters. They're fast to take ur money but very slow to resolve the problems

Been using gumtree on and off for years, it used to be teallly good and effective when selling items.
I used to trust leaving my number on the page so people could contact me about an item for sale, how that has done a full 180.

Yes i may be a little naive in thinking the world is wonderful and nothing bad could ever happen but i didn't expect after accidentally leaving my number in a new ad i posted to be hounded by absolute sex pests.

(i say accidentally i just forgot to change the settings on the ad)

Not only was hounded by dirty people trying to get what i can only assume ‘free phone sex' (wouldn't of been too bad if they actually paid for these kinds of services!) i was also hounded by scammers wanting stuff to be delivered by ‘gumtree delivery' through whatsap. The gumtree website even states itself ‘be wary of buyers asking for gumtree delivery' jesus christ.

Gumtree, what the hell happened to you?!

My fiancé rented a room at 43 Amis Avenue for 3 and a half weeks and it was the houseshare from hell! The landlords were rude and spiteful and gossiped about my fiancé behind her back to their family. They had their television booming till the early hours of the morning, they refused to pay all the deposit back and made my fiancé very ill with their behaviour. Thy forced my fiancé to move out and when we gave them notice they turned very nasty. If they are advertising a room do not accept it as the landlords are liars. They will be nice in the interview, but will treat you like rubbish when you move in.

My use of this site is not extensive, i have referred to it a few times over the past week whilst looking for rented property and a car in the Plymouth (UK) area. However my experience on responding to six different advertisers has been nothing but negative, maybe i was just unlucky but every advertisment that i responded to turned out to be a scam, with poor grammer and the usual requests for money up front, copies of my bank statements and 'Western Union' money transfers!
As i say, my time on this site is not enough for me to say categoricly that it is nothing but scams, however 6 out of 6 is a pretty poor average and i won't be waisting my time referring to 'Gum Tree' again.

Gumtree are a rubbish site with an infuriating rubbish login.
You have to go through 6 screens of a Captcha device before it will let you login.
Disgusting, infuriating, an insult to my intelligence.
Latest is Gumtree belongs to Ebay - another scam ripoff site and / or is run from Nigeria - says it all doesn't it.

I placed an ad to sell a bundle of PS2 games, for some reason it was removed. They say they send you an automatic email explaining why, it never arrived. I emailed enquiring as to why still no reply. So I reposted the ad being careful of keywords on some titles that perhaps their filters picked up on, it remained processing for 12 days. Given their notices say 4 at the most, it just doesn't make sense. I emailed them a 3rd time asking for a response and still nothing. I have removed the ad closed the account and will never consider using such a laxadasical site ever again. What's the cost of a reply to an email - nothing!
Shocking and horrendous customer service and a most frustrating experience.
I shall stick to good old fashioned newspaper classified in future!

It used to be good but after they sold it to Americans Now acting like bussiness mafia. I see why after many month my ads don't get any respond. When buyer messaged me I received email then gumtree maked my message to be deleted and then they use internet treack to contact buyer to sale gumtree owners staffs.Uk need to clean up such websites like gumtree shpock evay PayPal face book etc... they are dangerous for Uk national security in a long term in many different ways

I'm completley blown away about how terrible of a service Gumtree is offering now. I used to use this site regularly, and it was free. Now I noticed everything has a fee, which I decided to pay as Gumtree has a large community of users. I regret it so much. First I paid £2.99 for an item advertisement. Within an hour it was removed and no explanation was given. I the next day paid £25.99 for a services ad! THIS WAS REMOVED TOO. When I contacted Gumtree via live chat, I couldn't believe how bad the customer serivice was. All the Assistant could say was "how many Gumtree accounts do you have" over and over. Not "i'm so sorry about this, let me look into this". Not even anything to do with my issue! I still have no explanation why they stole my money! DO NOT USE GUMTREE.

Lots of 1 and 2 Bedroom apartments for rent in Knightsbridge and Oxford Street for £700pcm including bills. You report the adverts and gumtree does nothing about it. Come on its common sense if prices are priced ridiculously low. The advertiser then sends you dodgy links which enables them to scam you in return. Gumtree does not care for the safety nor your money. STAY AWAY FROM GUMTREE. We were scammed £500. Stay away from gumtree listers

I have been using gumtree every now and then when i had to sell something. Today i realised they are SHARING MY NUMBER with in time frame of 10mins i received at least 6 phone calls to sell PIP, compensation etc after posting my ad. I started live chat and they said they have no control over who obtains number, which turned out to be a lie. Firstly they state in little writing(terms of use) they share data with 3rd party and my number was added to database for tele marketing, which was told by the guy trying to convince me i had a accident and i should go ahead with compensation claim. All in all people its not worth paying for a service that sells your details for more money.

Brought a car for my wife of gumtree cost me alot of money was told by the seller it was in great condition and great for the year good condition in and out starts and runs great got the car delivered and the car didn't start from day 1 and had nothing but problems ended up losing alot of money as the seller wouldn't give me my money back so have a car sat on the driveway that doesn't work and out of pocket it should have been put up for spairs and repairs or a big project now my wife has been left without a car im sorry but gumtree should have something in place that a buyer can get there money back if the item or items they have brought are not what the advert say or not as described i have never been so let down and all trust is lost
