“I have made over a dozen purchases and sells through...”

Bill W.
10/16/12

I have made over a dozen purchases and sells through gunbroker and have been satisfied. Granted there is little customer service, but look what you are paying. What I especially like is their search engine... much easier to use than those of other sites... they make guns from all over the US just a bid away. Thanks GunBroker!

“Downward slide”

Howard g.
5/4/24

Once upon a time I got good service from Gunbroker. I've bought and sold many firearms on their site. Since Ammo took them over I've had nothing but problems with their website. Try and get a person on the phone! You have to be a Gold Member to qualify. Crap customer service. Too bad what happened to them. They have lost a long time and once satisfied customer. I"m sure others will follow. Howard S. North Carolina

Very few good deals. Most posts are dealers with repetitive posts. Over priced with no bids and they keep posting. Be ready to scroll through dozens but don't go too fast you'll miss an occasional deal.
Most people think entirely too much of their guns. They can keep them.

Tip for consumers:
You will be outbid sometimes by the gun owner themselves.

Once eBay a few years back started getting funny about firearm parts (I am fine with eBay not selling firearms but a shotgun barrel by itself, come on) I ended up finally jumping onto gunbroker.com. Although not particularly easy to navigate at first, once one has the hang of it, navigation proves less of an issue. Let's be clear on something here, gunbroker isn't selling you a firearm, they're facilitating you making a purchase thru a licensed dealer who then ends up transferring your firearm to a licensed dealer in your area who the legally sells it to you. All of this is professionally done and efficiently handled.
The handful of transactions I have initiated thanks to gunbroker.com have been hassle free and no doubt in each case I would never have even seen the item purchased locally, but thanks to the Internet and specifically this site, the world is my oyster! Carpe diem!

Gunbroker is full of wonderful deals. I have completed over 700 transactions on there and never once had any issues. Many sellers offer a secure checkout that allows you to pay with a credit card, or you can mail the seller a money order or check. Being as easy as their site is to use, I find it extremely odd that there are so many bad reviews of this site on here.

Have got some good deals as you don't have to pay sales tax on a purchase. Some sellers really inflate shipping costs though. If you're bidding on a gun or plan on bidding, watch the item when there's less than an hour to go. Bidders wait until that time. Item won't get a bid for days and days, but if you're not watching it during it's last hour, you will lose it to last minute bidders

After paying for a gun purchased at auction, I found myself victim of fraud. Gunbroker advertises they will reimburse you for fraud, however all they do is ask you the same questions over and over hoping you will eventually give up. They will not talk to you over the phone and communicate very slowly through email. I never ended up getting any money and was one of the lucky ones to find the scammer and receive my money back. Be very careful it is a well known site for scams.

This is basically ebay for firearms. Much the same design with items new and used available for auction or immediate purchase. This is one of few sites like this but probably the best known with the largest variety. I don't like the charge to register if you use a free email site as your email address. It's a good site and can be trusted.

I've been using gunbroker for over 10 years. I've had over five hundred complete transaction a lot of them good until this. I recently had a seller threatened me. And I refused to complete the sale. I Contacted gunbroker and told them what happened. Gun broker then suspended my membership. After the seller was still contacting me by phone And by text message harassing me. I then emailed gunbroker again.
Told them that if this individual the seller did not stop. I would have to be contact law enforcement this is terrible customer service. If this is the way I have been treated. I can only imagine if you were ripped off in any way. Gunbroker will not have your back buyer beware.

The seller failed to deliver the firearm after being paid twice. Verification of payment was made through the fraud department of two financial institutions. Concern that GunBroker failed to verify the existence of the firearm before listing it for sale (won't provide a serial number) and posted an exaggerated rating for the seller. GunBroker has been no help in resolving the matter and only responds with canned responses.

Absolutely NO customer service. No way to talk to a human about any issues, no phone services, automated email responses only that have nothing to do with the issue at hand. Very surprised and disappointed

Beware: I received an email from Gunbroker that stated they would cancel my account if I used a proxy server.
I responded back and asked them why. After a month I received another email stating they would cancel my account if I used a proxy server,, I asked them why again... Three months have passed
Now and no response. I do not use a proxy server at all.

I can conclude that Gunbroker.com is stealing information from my machine without my permission... history files, passwords, bookmarks etc.

If you are using Gunbroker.com be aware that they may be accessing you private info on your system for some unknown reason(s) without your permission.

One way to keep spies from hacking your system is to use a VPN service.

Waste of time! DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE!

Only lost a dollar to these scammers so they could "check" my free email address, who pays for their email address?! No customer service and no way to call them. Too many risky listings and I've read too many reviews of people loosing hundreds to thousands of dollars. They only warrant up to $500 with a $100 "deductible" so if the deal goes sour and you are actually able to get a refund, good luck, you will only get $400 of the $500 lost. Or if you lost $1000, still only $400. Seems like a good way to save money on firearms, but honestly I'd rather buy local after dealing with this site even if I have to pay a few hundred dollars more. If you do decide to buy from the site, make sure the seller has a phone number so you can talk to them before bidding. Good luck if you do, but I would recommend buying from a local shop.

The site is a joke. My account has been closed according to them at my request. This is a LIE! I never requested it closed. On top of that they have not replied to an email from over 3 weeks ago to reopen the account.

I contacted via email, customer support, as they requested but nothing. Nothing gets done. In my opinion the website has an opportunity to be a great thing but NO CHANCE of it under their current customer treatment.

Verified purchase

Used them one time and was robbed over $1,600.00 dollars. Tried to buy a Ruger precision rifle chambered in.338 lapua… A few days after I sent payment, gunbroker sent me an email saying that the transaction was most likely fraudulent. I'm going to stick with cheaperthandirt or grabagun. Never had any issues with these great companies. Oh, and trying to get any reimbursement back is a joke just like their company! I hope they all get monkeypox on their adult parts!

Horrible site. After sending them all documenting evidence that I was being cheated, outright defrauded out of $200, they ignore me, then disable my account and remove my negative feedback against the offending vendor. There are too many other good auction sites with better prices. Gunauction.com, Auctionarms.com, GunsAmerica.com... just to name a few... to waste time with Gunbroker.

I would have never guessed people wouldn't love gunbroker.com. I have purchased 20 guns there and saved a ton compared to local stores. One gun was $75 less than Walmart, new in the box. I suppose maybe it's better if people are afraid of this site. More bargains for me!

Tip for consumers:
Check your seller's feedback before you bid. Compare your best price with budsguns and other online vendors to make you're buying at wholesale prices.

Since most guns are sold "As Is" and you can't inspect or fire the weapon before hand, Gunbroker.com seems to be the place people sell guns that are unsafe, inaccurate, or otherwise need repairs. I purchased a Ruger 357 only to find out that the cylinder was loose, and the head space was way out of tolerance. Not only is the gun inaccurate, the excessive head space is dangerous. What seemed like a fair price has turned into a rip off, as I've sent the gun to Ruger for repairs that have increased the total cost beyond what a new fire arm would have cost.
Buy locally from a reputable dealer, and forget Gunbroker.com.

The negative comments about this site are obviously from the anti-gun crowd... their agenda is to smear and scare new users from visiting... those that know this is a good site will keep coming and the new users will probably be influenced not to trust... pretty sad when this is the best they can do... I urge you to think about how much negative feedback is here... it's not normal... I have never been burned by this site in 15 years... and have talked to some very nice people in this country from Washington to Florida... mom and pop stores just trying to make a living doing what they can to get by... I wish these liberal haters had something better to do... but alas this is their choosing and they have nothing better to do than to try to tear down a thriving industry that serves millions!

This is the worst website I have ever been on. Pages not loading and timing out.
Customer Service is incompetent. As an auction site, they really do not care about there sellers. If you have items to sell, your better off on gunauctions.com

I had my eyes opened when a deal with bad with a seller that did not like the bid he got and would not ship the item. I sent payment with shipping fee within hours of getting the bid. Seller wanted more for shipping. Some sellers want to make a large profit on shipping/handling. Seller's true self (pushy, unreasonable, I call all the shots jerk) came out in emails from him. Thuggish Gunbroker (GB) customer service. GB sides with the seller without even hearing the buyers side of a problem. I sent GB the emails and my side of the case and they totally ignored them. You get the impression you are involved with the mob when trying to communicate with GB. GB branded me a "non-payer" and the dealer relisted and got more $ the second auction like they wanted in the first place. With GB the volume seller is god and the customer is crap. Do not get involved with GB and save yourself a lot of grief.

Absolutely the worst customer service of any auction site I have ever done business with. Their boiler plate responses to my emails concerning a fraud claim clearly showed they did not read or save the email I sent them. They responded with a copy and paste response about checks needing 10 days to clear a month after I sent the seller a $700 Cashier's check with no response from the seller. I warned Gun broker about the seller but the seller ripped off another customer for $1500 before they did anything about the account. After sending them all the documentation they asked for via us mail, they asked for it again when I inquired about the claim a month later. Buyer and Seller beware.

The owners are so greedy they focus on sales only. I'm all for making a profit, but provide support for the jerks that rip off the good customers. Just know that every time you send cash to a seller that if you don't get what you think you bought, you are screwed. GB will not help you, period.

Great place to buy (or sell) various guns and shooting accessories. Website is easy to use and I will be continuing to visit this website 3-4 times a month just to make sure I don't miss out on any good deals.

... until out of the blue they changed my user name and email to something I hadn't used in years - and refused to change it back. Then, a month later, they suddenly corrected my information - but set my transaction history back to zero. Didn't like that but could live with it. But when I next entered a bid on a rifle I got a pop-up message stating I could not submit bids any more due to a "previous problem." Trying to resolve problems with a customer service department that has no concept of customer service - with their curt 3-word replies - is impossible. They'll reply if and when they want to - or not at all.

Ok so this site is a dangerous one to deal with. First off during registration the require you to spend a dollar to register if you use a "free email service". I feel like this is a bit over the top... But I was an idiot and paid the dollar... Then it got even worse, the then immediately claimed my "information was incorrect and could not be verified" so my account was on hold. To unlock your account they want a copy of your drivers license and a utility bill... I said F*** No and bailed on the site asking them to delete my account and that I am never returning to the site. I would never ever tell anyone to use their site, so please don't. Hope this helps someone else in there future.

Everything is great until something goes wrong. Paid $830 bucks for an item and never received it. Gubroker.com customer service is non-existent. No phone number to call. The email customer service is a joke. It's been 30 days since my customer service request via email, no response. You're basically on your own in dealing with fraudulent sellers.
