I have made over a dozen purchases and sells through gunbroker and have been satisfied. Granted there is little customer service, but look what you are paying. What I especially like is their search engine... much easier to use than those of other sites... they make guns from all over the US just a bid away. Thanks GunBroker!
Once upon a time I got good service from Gunbroker. I've bought and sold many firearms on their site. Since Ammo took them over I've had nothing but problems with their website. Try and get a person on the phone! You have to be a Gold Member to qualify. Crap customer service. Too bad what happened to them. They have lost a long time and once satisfied customer. I"m sure others will follow. Howard S. North Carolina

I purchased two ww2 pistols they were junk so I returned them the seller made a complaint against me and I was banned by this guys lies. That was 20 years ago and I still cant get on Gunbroker I moved and the guy that purchased my house told me he got banned for having the address of the house I used I live in LOL
An online marketplace needs 3 things to be legitimate: good tech, good reputation, and good customer service Gunbroker.com has none of these. Tech: Their system sent an address I did not designate for my purchase to the seller, costing me and extra $55 (big thanks to Crossroad Pawn for giving me back some of this, even though it wasn't his fault). Reputation: read reviews of this site. I didn't before shopping here, and had to endure the nightmare of figuring out how bad they were AFTER buying with them. Customer Service: their customer service was basically nonresponsive and provided useless FAQ answers which showed they didn't even read everything I sent them. I had to write a new email to them multiple times to get them to respond at above a 3rd grade level. Then they tried to BLAME me and the seller for a technical error on their part. This is their response: "The cause of the matter was two fold. Part of it was the buyers fault for not keeping the account defaults up to date before placing bids on items and the other part was the seller for creating the label before the buyer completed seller review. The seller has agreed to refund 25.00 for the transfer fee, we feel that is fair. We are closing out this matter. Have a great weekend." NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH GUNBROKER.COM
It seems that gun broker enjoys charging increasingly high rates and giving little if any customer service. There's no accountability for deadbeat bidders or sellers. If a mistake is made, if there's an issue, you're on your own. You can call whoever you can give it a shot 9 out of 10 They're about as helpful as a brick wall. What's becoming increasingly obvious is the fact that sellers are creating their own fake accounts to bid up their guns. You might want to say that it said that they can't do a better job, considering how obvious the problem is.
Don't buy into there buyers protection plan. It's a hoax. I got ripped off for 515.50 sent all the proof and now they won't even respond to me. So just a heads up. Their bpp is nothing more than false advertising and the business on the receipt is who ripped me off
Tip for consumers:
And the business on the receipt is the one who ripped me off

Very good auctions, mostly honest buyers and sellers. But, if you have a need for customer service, you are SCREWED. They must use 5-year-olds, because nothing makes sense, and they only answer occasionally. This "could be" the best gun site in America if they had CS people who had a clue at all about helping settle issues. They are useless, helpless, and evidently brainless
Let the buyer beware. You may be purchasing from someone who doesn't know their butt from buttons. I purchased a handgun from someone who was not familiar with mailing firearms. My big mistake? I trusted them. I am out my item and $500.00. There is no screening with Gun Broker. Any idiot can sell, buy, set-up a virtual storefront, etc.
Does not get any worse that this site. OMG I don't think a human being works their. I have contacted customer support 5 (FIVE) times... all they do is email me back saying "resolved!" and if I have further questions to contact customer support. They closed my account without my permission, but claimed it I had requested it. I gave them my credit card number, drivers license copy... got to the point I gave up.
Tip for consumers:
Try armslist.com
Don't be deceived into thinking this site has anything to do with "bidding". They are absolutely full retail prices (either by reserve or starting bid price) and since ALL listings are free for the seller until the item sells they will just list the same item over and over. You will end up paying well over retail because of added FFL transfer and shipping fees. Don't waste your 1 dollar in even registering for this site.
I've purchased a rifle and parts from this site in the past year. I've had contact with the broker/seller and/or FFL in all cases and have had no problems. As long as they got their money they've held up their side of the deal/handshake (knock on wood). But I realize this is not always the case and there are scumbags out there, luckily I have not hit on one yet. This is a great site to get bargains and/or base prices, but as all websites a buyer beware! I recommend talking and emailing the seller on large purchases as I have done. It sure made me feel much more at ease.
Their business has got to be great-2016 gun selling has never been better. I've read many reviews here where buyers and sellers beware, but that is the nature of on-line, not in person, transactions. Stuff happens, and most of it is because of the individual's involved lack of responsibility... GB can't be held accountable for idiots. But they are responsible for the basic mechanics, especially their billing procedures Double charging for their service fees/commission for the purchase of the same gun is unacceptable. They charge you to relist a gun, and when it is sold to someone that doesn't pay and gets resold in their auction(that you paid then to relist it), they know that the commission on the first non-sale must be returned. Their "service" department intentionally dodged the issue and stopped responding to my valid requests. Very disappointed I had to close my dozen+ transaction account.
I sold items on gunbroker few times. Once a bidder did not buy after winning the auction. I followed the lengthy process of getting final value fee credit. When the gunbroker had to issue me credit, the customer service which can be contacted only via email stopped responding to my message. I had to open a dispute with credit card company to get my money back. This company is absolutely rubbish. Don't do any business on the website of a company that has bad customer service and does not even have a phone number.
They don't have a customer service phone number.
And if you have a seller that doesn't want to complete the transaction, you can give them a bad rating but Gun Broker wont do anything until they get multiple complaints.
One complaint should be enough to remove them from listing. I guess buyers don't rate.
Customer service is nonexistent. I've written customer service multiple times to resolve an issue on their end so I can list my expensive gun collection for sale and no response. No one is home. I'm now using gunauction.com
Tip for consumers:
Use gunauction.com
I've bought and sold for several years on this site with no problems. However, about 6 months ago two people who had won auctions for guns I had for sale, backed out after the end of the bidding. Gunbroker charged my credit card for both sales that never completed and would not refund the money. I found there is no way to talk to a human being at this company, therefore customer service is non-existent. I'll continue buying here on a limited basis, but all selling I do from now on will be at GunAuction (formerly Auction Arms) At GunAuction when you need to talk to someone, the owner of the business is available and happy to talk to you.
I used gun broker for one month and made a couple mistakes on items I was trying to sell. Instead of letting off with a warning the told me that I could not reactivate my account. On top of all that they were trying to charge me for an item after they took the item down for bi. I would give these guys a 1 out of 5. There are plenty more places you can sell or buy guns from.
Won an auction first of September 2016 in which seller then failed to send item. Go through hassle of filing complaint only to receive refund minus $100 of value paid for a firearm. Finally receive payment end of March 2017. Slow or no response to emails.
Gun Broker allows sellers to hire "shills" to bid against legitimate customers in order to raise the bid to benefit the seller. A bidder will place a minimum bid at the beginning of the auction then sit back till the last couple hours before placing another bid. Then keep it going as long as they can draw the real bidder in. Fortunately, I woke up to what was going on and stopped bidding. The seller/shill paid way TOO much for the firearm being auctioned off. This time I got them! I've close my account with Gun Broker, and will NEVER do business with them again! If you're smart, you'll stay away.

This websites has got to be one of my worst experiences online ive sent them picture after picture of legal documents with my name in address in me holding my id in the only reply i can get is those wont work my account has been locked since I created it im just gonna find somewhere else to give my business to worst customer support ever
I have never experienced such a difficult time establishing an account with any other company. GunBroker's validation process is deeply flawed, and they they don't care how much frustration and delay they cause to potential customers. Nor do they seem to care that their existing members will only suffer by being denied access to new. Why should I have to beg to do business?
Before you do business with this company, either buying or selling, please do yourself a favor and do a search for them on complaints. You'll be astonished at the range of complaints against them. My own is about billing issues and fraudulent credit card charges. I urge anyone else who has had similar problems to file charges against them for credit card fraud.
A few years ago I registered with GunBroker.com. They accepted my registration and charged my CC for the $1.00 registration fee. When I attempted to purchase a firearm via their website I received a message stating a long the lines that my order could not be processed because I was a "Character of Suspicion". What? Really? When I received that email I replied to it and requested a refund of my registration fee and told them I would never do business with them again. I've been a gun owner my entire life and a conceal carry permit holder for almost 10 years and I'm a suspicious character? My current issue is that they continue to send me promotional adds and there is no where on their website to call or email and request to be removed. Not a fan Gunbroker. Please stop emailing me
My account was suspended before I could buy anything. Apparently I didn't pay the buck they charge you to bid on items. Logged in and made that payment weeks ago. Account still suspended and no solution in sight. Moving on. Don't waste your time.
I've been selling and buying guns from Gunbroker for about 6 years now and in terms of the transaction, they are usually very straight forward. The problem is not with the transactions between the buyer and the seller. The problem is with the security or lack of security with your credit card information at Gunbroker.
On 2 occasions after I've provided Gunbroker with my credit card info, the info has been hacked and charges made as high as $900 for an air conditioning systems in California. I don't live in California. They had not only the credit card number but the security code as well.
The Gunbroker people are nice enough people but are in over their heads in terms of technology much less security. If you're going to do business with them, you should use one of these cards that you can put only a small amount of money in it to pay for whatever fees they need to charge.
