“I have made over a dozen purchases and sells through...”

Bill W.
10/16/12

I have made over a dozen purchases and sells through gunbroker and have been satisfied. Granted there is little customer service, but look what you are paying. What I especially like is their search engine... much easier to use than those of other sites... they make guns from all over the US just a bid away. Thanks GunBroker!

“Downward slide”

Once upon a time I got good service from Gunbroker. I've bought and sold many firearms on their site. Since Ammo took them over I've had nothing but problems with their website. Try and get a person on the phone! You have to be a Gold Member to qualify. Crap customer service. Too bad what happened to them. They have lost a long time and once satisfied customer. I"m sure others will follow. Howard S. North Carolina

I assume that there are idiots on both sides of the table when buying a gun online, but it seems that is making everyone worse. I have bought a lot of guns through GunBroker, and the transactions used to go smoothly. Lately, the buyers have become bigger and bigger assh*les and made the process harder than it needs to be - making me supply copies of things and information that is not necessary, refunding one type of payment and demanding different types of payments, threatening to turn me in to the ATF if a personal check doesn't clear, etc. It has become not worth it to deal with them and therefore the site. I will pay more to go through a local broker than continue to buy through them.

You should not do business with GunBroker. They are unethical. If you are ripped off by one of their sellers, they will blame you. If you post a bad rating about a seller, they will give you a bad rating and remove the bad rating from the seller. Regardless of the facts. They don't make money from buyers, they make it from sellers. Buyer beware. I have been ripped off twice. Gunbroker could care less. I will not do business with them.

I have been trying to use gunbroker.com and all I get is nonsensical. I used my user name and password and it told me it was wrong. I had to go in and try to change what it told me to. It would not let me do anything. It told me that my zip code was wrong. I don't think so.

Can't prove the connection, but within 24 hours of giving them my CC # to verify my email address I had 7-8 fraudulent charges on my CC from a variety of different merchants; most of them for small amounts and over half of them to segments of APPLE's website. I had not used my CC for any other puroses that day. They have yet to "approve" my use of their services, which I'm now reluctant to do anyway. Maybe CC Co. Can uncover some connection and/or pattern here - remains to be seen. Just suggesting you be vigilant and monitor your CC charges if you give them you #...

I have had great success on Gunbroker. I have successfully purchased 5 pistols and 1 rifle, along with numerous ammunition purchases. I've never been scammed or paid more than I wanted to. I think the negative reviews come from folks that fail to understand how the auction system works, do not do their research on the Sellers, or maybe a bit stupid about their bidding and get suckered into bidding too much. Hint: bid only with reputable sellers with many transaction (gunshops work best), ask questions before you bid, don't get suckered into a bidding war. Simply stop and look for another item. GB is place to bring buyers and sellers together. Folks expect too much and don't want to take individual responsibility... something in fashion these days.

I had never heard of SWS Cowboy ammunition in 44 "Magnum". This is maybe a target load. Would not use it for self defense or hunting. Has the recoil os a. 32 long. No xxxx. I paid for it, received it, and now have no recourse. No returns. I had previously had ten successful purchases from honest people on gunbroker. Then one $#*! and absolutely no support from gunbroker. I am done with this substandard, ripoff operation. I am ashamed that they are from my state as me. Located 30 miles away. Good luck talking to them on the phone or in person. For your own good, stay away from these overrated, understaffed ripoffs that only respond to sellers.

I bought over 20k on through gunbroker and sold over 10k in last year. I bid on an optic, and had emergency back surgery. I wasnt able to fullfil transaction. Offer to paypal seller but he declined. Demanded Money order. Not sure how I could drive to bank when i cant even walk. I sent him $35 relist fee.
Gunbroker terminated my account for that 1 infraction. Seller denied that I sent money.
Their feedback system is crap and only benefits high volume sellers.

I ordered 5000 rods of 9mm for 600 bucks. Somehow they ran the info again for another 600 bucks. Which with as much as I shoot I didn't have a problem.

The problem is the next day they called and wanted 250 bucks for refundable shipping insurance. One the is no such as a refundable shipping insurance after checking into it.

2nd no where in there web site mentions this. I told them I wouldn't pay anything till the ammo was delivered and then we we would revisit the insurance.

They have not refunded the money after they said they wouldn't ship without the insurance. I corresponded several times wanting a refund which they have refused to do.

I am talking with the Idaho Attorney General to see what they can do

Don't ever buy from these folks

Stay away... even their telephone number *******164 is a scam. Dial it for yourselves. This website invites criminals to come in and sell items that don't really exist. At least GunBroker.com should validate their names on Bing or Google to determine their legibility. Ammo from deuce******* is Jason Skeens from Pikeville, KY... bing and google it... watch what pops up!

I ordered something: sent a usps money order, money order cashed, no idems, complained to the site, and the site has closed, and complained about me, wanting my item, or saying it is not fraud to not get something you paid for, or the money back. They are sad at best, I contacted the usps, who is doing a mail fraud against the person, but I want to go after gunbroker, and I dont know what to do. Never never never use them. Gunbroker.com is horrible I would give them a -2 at best!

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I have a 100% feedback score from eBay after doing business with them for 10 years. In contrast, I found GunBroker.com to have the worst customer service. They pretty much ignore you and you can't call them, either. Plus, they have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

Won a 32 colt single shot rifle( a Walnert Filbert) that booked at about 280.00. The clown seller did not put a reserve on it so I got it for 83.00 dollars instead of hiding from me like a little kid he should of answered the phone and said hey guy I'm sorry I messed up by not putting a reserve on this and I just can't sell it for the 83 bucks. The last gun I bought on GB the seller refused to email a tracking number and told me he couldn't be bothered with sales that merely totaled out at 1100, 00 dollars. So what is GB? It has become a place that faceless psycho dealers frequent because the owners of the site have refused to police it

My experience on Gunbroker.com as a bidder/purchaser was very pleasurable. The notifications as to my status as bidder were prompt and accurate. Once the bidding was over, my dealings with the Seller, Bondi Biermeyer, went very smooth to completion. It is nice doing business with a true gentleman.

Whomever it is that runs gunbroker has no clue as to what customer service means. They don't care about the buyer or sellers on their site and they will not answer questions and they will not refund your money if you get scammed. They only care about fees that get paid to them. If you are a seller, beware of gunbroker because you will never get your fees back if you get a non paying bidder.

I have been trying for months to contact technical support with no response. I am not able to list anything for sale on their platform. I have sent images and a detailed explanation of the issue and the steps that I took to troubleshoot the issues and I got nothing.

UPDATE: After months, I finally got through to Gunbroker's tech support through their Facebook page admins. After that, it took about a week to find the issue on their end and fixed it. Upgraded to 2 stars

I purchased a factory new fire-arm which comes with 3 magazines ( as part of a special). However, when I received it, it only had 1. I gave the seller a bad rating after offering them to resolve the issue. They didn't so I gave them an F. The seller gave me an F in return even though I paid via PO Money Order and put it in the mail the next morning ( no reason for a bad rating) and GUNBROKER.COM edited my review of them and put words in my mouth. This is fraud.

Beware of any "BUY IT NOW" auctions. I just paid $115 more than I intended to bid since the site automatically bid the buy it now price without letting me make a lower offer. I was in the process in bidding the MINIMUM bid $175.00 when suddenly I was the bid winner at $290 for a USED gun. I could have bought a new one for less! Of course they do not have any FAQ or comment section to resolve this issue.

What a bunch of scam artists. Lying dogs! Started to fill out the self declared "FREE registration" only to find it's only free for gov't and corporate email. The other 90%+ of us using yahoo, gmail, etc... PAY FOR THE FREE SIGNUP? Maybe they shot themselves in the head and forgot the definition of free? They make no mention of why they should charge, or why they claim it's free fraudulently, and there's no way to contact them without an account. I've never heard of an auction site charging you just to register, and to lie about it... surely wouldn't trust them

I have been a member of Gun Broker for many years buying and selling firearms with perfect
Feedback from the buyers and sellers.
Now they tell me that I proved that I don't want to do business with them, and canceled my account and it was my doing the cancelation. They say that they will renew it if I get in touch with them telling them I will never do that again. Well there is no way to contact them, so how do I do that? I even was a supporting member as to
Have payed money to them. Don't be fooled stay away!

The Gunbroker web site is a joke, you will have problems logging in, pages will not load. As a Seller, the Gunbroker website is a waste of time because of site instablity. Worse yet, the Gunbroker staff does not care.

I don't know why buyers are complaining.
I just won the first auction I bid on, and the sellers all clearly state the price, whether there is a reserve amount or not (amount is not visible, though), and whether they charge taxes or CREDIT CARD FEES!
I chose one who did not charge a fee and used my card! Now I just contact my FFL dealer and pay him to receive it for me.
If the deal goes wrong from here, I will write a new review.

After having minor problems with the site as a seller tried to clear up an issue with a buyer. There was some confusion we agreed he didn't have to pay. THEN had to go through two months of hassle to try to get my fees refunded. Which they never did. Wouldn't let me close the account until the remaining fees, including the ones they refused to give me a credit for were paid. Paid the rotten fees. FOUR months later I get a monthly statement on my closed account stating not to pay anything because I had overpaid and it would be applied to later billing. AGAIN ON A CLOSED ACCOUNT!

The people that run gunbroker are quick to take your money but refuse to help you in any way and takebno responcibility to police their own website of frauds and cheats. It really sucks overall. Be very careful if using the site. As a seller or buyer their feedback system is b. S. and can never be trusted as no one leaves neg feedback because you retalitory feedback for telling the truth. Stay away

Dons Guns, Victoria TX- less then honest! Bought a Win Md 23 from him, "as new". Forearm would not go on. He said take oit to a gunsmith and he'd pay the fix, had to be small issue. Sent it to Nuline, about $450, some of which was shiping. Sent him the invoice, 3 weeks no answer. Called and he was on hyper drive that he wasn't paying that- said i gave NuLine cart blanche to charge whatever. Offered $150. Told him to keep it, rather list him as dishonest and not a man of his word. Nuline is as good as it gets for old Win. Didn't expect him to pay shipping. Won't deal with him again
