“I have made over a dozen purchases and sells through...”

Bill W.
10/16/12

I have made over a dozen purchases and sells through gunbroker and have been satisfied. Granted there is little customer service, but look what you are paying. What I especially like is their search engine... much easier to use than those of other sites... they make guns from all over the US just a bid away. Thanks GunBroker!

Once upon a time I got good service from Gunbroker. I've bought and sold many firearms on their site. Since Ammo took them over I've had nothing but problems with their website. Try and get a person on the phone! You have to be a Gold Member to qualify. Crap customer service. Too bad what happened to them. They have lost a long time and once satisfied customer. I"m sure others will follow. Howard S. North Carolina

Have been on this site for over 10 years and done 100's of successful deals! But with any site that you routinely buy and sell off of; you do run into dirt bags that don't understand or expect more than they paid for! I received a negative feedback from one of these dirt balls because I didn't promptly ship an item even though I refunded the fellow's money as soon as found out about the problem! I had explained to ths dirt ball that I was in the hospital with a life threathening illness and all he had to say is that I should have shipped the item or refunded his money promptly-- I even returned his uncashed money order that took him three weeks to send in the first place but that was not good enough! So if you can put up with the occasional dirtball this site s the best one I have ever been on; forget the others you will like Gunbroker!

I won a bid on gunbroker.com, and the vender charged my card twice and refused to credit my account on the second charge. After bringing this to the attention of gunbroker.com, and providing feedback on their site about the vender, that articulated the situation and the venders refusal to credit my card, gunbroker.com terminated my account without providing a reason. It simply is not worth bidding on gunbroker.com and doing business with their associates.

If you are a knowledgeable and responsible gun trader there is very little risk using this site. I've had good experience with all the sellers I've dealt with. However, I would rate the MANAGEMENT of the site as below par. There is NO EXCUSE in this day and age not to have a responsible person in customer service to talk one on one with - and I don't mean an on line "chat". Gunbroker really needs to fix this problem.

Verified purchase

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER...wait,there is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.!
Purchased a "Factory New" gun off the site appx. 2-01-22 and when it arrived it was clearly 'USED"...contacting seller did nothing and they finally told me to F*#&-off I was harassing them.
So as per GunBroker site I filed a claim appx. 5 months later...sent all reciepts and info to their claims dept which has insurance up to $400 for damages.
To date,11-29-22 I have heard NOTHING back from GunBroker and there is NO way to contact them again once the claim was submitted...They just keep you hanging...sent them another email 2 weeks ago and again.NOTHING...
I will NEVER buy off their site again...you have no protection.! Way to many scammers on the site, like person I bought from...only accepted USPS Money Orders so cant even file claim with my MC company!
I thought of filing criminal charges due to fact $$ was sent via USPS...but just not worth the hassle.
BAD COMPANY...if something goes wrong your on your own.>!

I have NEVER in my Life had an on-line vendor want this much info... not Amazon, Not Ebay (buy & sell)... NOT ANY... NONE!

After you give them all of your personal info, Address, CC Info, email... all of it... you automatically get flagged?

THEN... they want you to send them a Copy of Your Drivers License (Not gonna happen) along with Copies of bills that come to your home addressed to you (NOT gonna happen)

I've bought a ton of guns from dealers and tons of ammo on-line along with a myriad of many, MANY other on-line retailers and dealers... NOT ONE has ever wanted that much "Identity Stealing Information"... there is not a single gun they have or will ever have that will entice me in to that setup!

AND... WHAT REALLY MAKES IT STINK!... I've bought ammo from them... YES... Shipped it to my home... signature required?

Terrible. I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone. The auctions are a joke. I think it's rigged and they don't allow you to win until it gets to a number they want. I won twice and they have a 15 minute rule. I think a win is a win. I won and they allowed 15 minutes for NEW person to join the bidding. I won again and they again tacked on 15 minutes. What a joke. There's no assurance that the other bidders aren't working for the seller either. Don't waste your time!

I asked the site to change their serial number posting policy, it should be MANDATORY to list the serial number with the gun. There response was, " We don't list serial numbers do to fraud issues." Yeah, they can't properly screw you if they are forced to provide serial numbers! This must be a Bernie Madoff Company.

I initially registered with them and it said that my account was under review, but it did give me a basic level of access to set up my profile and that sort.

Said it would be reviewed in 24-48 hours.

After 48 hours I logged into the system and went to the Support/Isses section where I sent a trouble ticket stating that I had not been approved and the problem had not been addressed.

Some 6 more days later I have not been contacted yet and the item that I wamted to bid on is gone.

I think this site is a sham or a cover for big brother to document your puchases.

Beware of this site

Purchased a firearm and seller sent me a worn out piece of JUNK. AD showed gun to be in good condition and even said excellent condition but when it arrived it was so worn out and rickety it was unsafe for use. The slide bolt wouldn't even open. Gunbroker did NOTHING to resolve with the seller and I never received a refund. BUYER BEWARE. Spend your hard earned dollars ANYWHERE ELSE!

Tip for consumers:
They allow sellers to FAKE BID on their own items to drive up the prices. Bunch of dishonest clowns.

I am a Licensed FFL DEALER That sells ESTATE gun exclusively, and I have sold almost 400 guns on GunBroker over the last year, and had three or four Bidders who didn't follow through with transaction, Yes, it is a pain to get the refund, but you have to ask yourself how else could you control claims fora few dollars. Overall they do a great Job, and no other site provides the capability to feature your items with Photography Like Gun Broker. We live in a world where ETHIC'S has just become a word for many. Do your research before you bid.

Tip for consumers:
If you wish to use this auction site. Buy, from an FFL Dealer, Check Sellers Reviews, if the pictures are poor, don't Buy, and remember, check the return policy, if you have concerns and ask the seller Questions.

I enjoy collecting historic military firearms. I take great care in reviewing all the information provided by the seller. I been seriously cheated about 20 % of the winning actions. Seller misrepresented items or fail to give complete information like serial numbers do not match. If I want an item I will bid a full market price. Most items sell for much more than I can find them at Gun Shows. This is not the place to find high grade collector firearms. The skill and attention to detail it takes to make sure one is getting what they want takes the fun out of it. May be OK for shooter guns but you will pay top dollar. Gunbroker does not allow retractions like eBay. They also do not provide you the bidders information that let you see if shill bidding is likely occurring. There is no customer support from my recent experience. I getting too old for the level of stress it takes to use Gunbroker. I do not think it is worth voting for Hillary to put Gunbroker out of business. I do wish eBay sold collector firearms.

I can't imagine how this place stays in business. With the reviews it gets you would think potential buyers would learn from others bad experiences. CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR BUYERS OR SELLERS DOES NOT EXIST its that simple. Hope the local or federal fraud busters get to them soon, right now would be perfect. A sham of a business from the get go. Don't waste your time and do like i do tell all the readers on other gun related boards to stay away. One star is two to many for this bunch of wasters STAY OFF THEIR SITE AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS IN THE WHOLE GUN COMMUNITY TO DO THE SAME

Does anybody actually pay these prices for firearms. You would need your head examined to pay those prices when there are so many other options available on the Internet

I was charged a $1.00 fee for a account I can't use and. 50 for a late fee for a account I can't use. 2nd time I emailed this wonderful customer service this what sent in and there reply

I emailed months ago about not being able to provide the documents required to make an account and never got a reply. And I see you have billed me 1.50 for a account I could never use how can I get this all taken care of and get this account just deleted. Please someone email me back this time!

I used Gunbroker as a registered FFL dealer for 13 years with hundreds of transactions but every time I needed customer support they treated me like I was stupid and were condescending finally in anger and frustration I dared to tell CS that I was sick of their "BS" and "all their asses should be fired" and CS immediately terminated a long time and faithful customer for "using inappropriate language." So they really appreciated my years of business. I wrote a letter to their CEO and he didn't care! Later I tried to get reinstated but they said I had 4 strikes and I said, not it was one issue where you improper credit card practices cost me money and you know it, and for that they simply deleted my profile with almost 300 positive transactions. The worst and most abusive Customer Service I have ever dealt with; EVER!

I PLACED ABOUT 60; 000 WORTH OF VARIOUS ITEMS. AND EVERY TIME A SCAMMER WOULD PLACE A BUY NOW THEY TOOK THEIR FEES IMMEDIATELY.THE SCAMMER ALSO GAVE ME A BAD RAP FOR NOT FALLING FOR HIS BULL$#*!. AND GUNBROKER REFUSED TO REFUND MY MONEY AND REMOVE THE BAD RAP ABOUT ME. STAY AWAY FROM GUN BROKER... AND NO WAY TO CONTACT THEM EITHER AND IT TAKES WEEKS TO RESPOND IF YOU GO THROUGH THEIR CHANNELS. I CLOSED ALL MY ADS AND THEY BAND ME FROM USING THERE SITE AND A YEAR AGO TO DATE THEY WANT THEIR MONEY. LUCKILY ENOUGH I LOST MY WALLET AND GOT A NEW CREDIT CARD NUMBER AND NEVER GAVE THEM THE NEW ONE. OR I WOULD BE OUT OF MORE MONEY. I CAN'T EMPHASIS THIS ENOUGH ''STAY AWAY''

Five years and only 1 bad transaction. Compared to ebay this site is heaven. Every minor problem involves a refund on ebay and tutorials if you use a trademark name. And listing fees car auctions run about 60.00 a week. Gunbroker is not perfect but if you use common sense and communicate their are no problems. People just like to hear themselves whine.
3% is fee after selling on Gunbroker NO LISTING FEES! NO HOLDS ON PAYPAL! NO RESTRICTIONS ON ITEMS NATIONALITY THAT you sell.

Yeah These guys suck! I should have know this, 12,000 auctions and 6 bidders All gunbroker emails now go to forever spam. My beef with Gunbroker is VERY rude! St responce from cus. Serv. Then every E-mail from GB when opened went to a malware page. Almost locked up my pc 3 times, and the 3rd time was right after I read responce from Cust. Serv. I went to go back in to GB and again a Malware Page. I was done! Made 2 purchases all went well. Then started reading reviews, And thought, Yes I could see GB doing all that was said in negative reviews. And GB sellers Many are like GB and assume people are stupid. Thanks for lookin!

I had problems with a seller on Gun Broker. After I sent the money he wanted to charge me $25 per day until he received all the information from the FFL I used. I had pruchased 3 other guns on Gun Broker using the same FFL and had no problems. I will NEVER use Gun Broker again. They have no customer service to address the seller's scam. I still haven't received the firearm and don't know if I will. Gun Broker hasn't done jack. The seller is from FL and I'm in MN so I guess I'm "F'd".

I'm sorry, but I just had to comment on some of the bad reviews I'm reading here. People complain because they have to pay $1 to verify their account? That's called preventing scams. People complain because they had to pay the "Buy it Now" price on a Buy it Now only listing instead of being able to place a lower bid? What do they think 'Buy it now' means? People complain because they didn't read the description and got something they didn't want" C'mon people, show a little responsibility. One person even complained because he decided he didn't want something after he won the auction and didn't pay for it, so Gunbroker shut his account down? That's called being a non-paying bidder and any site will shut you down for that because they want to keep things honest. You know, sellers DO have to pay for listings and if you are a non-paying bidder, you are essentially ripping them off.

You know, we're all supposed to be responsible adult gun owners, not a bunch of whiny Liberals who always try to blame everyone else for their own mistakes. If you don't like Gunbroker, that's fine, then don't use it. I have only had 20 transactions on there so far, but I have never given or received a single bit of negative feedback.

I purchased a $1,250.00 rifle that was advertised as new but when it arrived it was scratched and scuffed in many places. I reported this to GUNBROKER and they said they could not compel a seller to do anything. They could only recommend. They said the "Fraudulent Misrepresentation" the seller made was not Fraud under their guidelines. I spent weeks sending pics, emailing and replying. They said they escalated the case and instructed the seller to contact me for return. No one ever contacted me and GUNBROKER became slower and slower in their emails to me. They denied my FRAUD claim and said it was a CONDITION issue not fraud. I sent them the definition of Fraudulent Misrepresentation and they did not reply. They have no desire to kill the golden goose (seller) in favor of there buyer customers (sheep). If you buy a gun through them, remember YOU ARE ON YOUR ON. You can not compel a non-reputable seller from half way across the country to do ANYTHING.
