“I have made over a dozen purchases and sells through...”

Bill W.
10/16/12

I have made over a dozen purchases and sells through gunbroker and have been satisfied. Granted there is little customer service, but look what you are paying. What I especially like is their search engine... much easier to use than those of other sites... they make guns from all over the US just a bid away. Thanks GunBroker!

“Downward slide”

Howard g.

Once upon a time I got good service from Gunbroker. I've bought and sold many firearms on their site. Since Ammo took them over I've had nothing but problems with their website. Try and get a person on the phone! You have to be a Gold Member to qualify. Crap customer service. Too bad what happened to them. They have lost a long time and once satisfied customer. I"m sure others will follow. Howard S. North Carolina

Recently lost the ability to sign in on GunBroker. Gb response was I had been hacked. They said I needed to change all email account passwords and send them a photo holding my drivers license to prove my identity. After all this my bank account was verified and I thought I was back in business.
I thought it was strange that a hacker would be able to list items under my username but accepted GunBroker response of a hacker.
Fast forward to the next month bill where there are several items listed by an "onsite help ". GunBroker refuses to explain what listings with "onsite help" means. These listings were created by GunBroker with astronomical fixed prices that will never sell but I'm being billed for each listing created.
The canned responses from GunBroker are so frustrating, and you can't speak to anyone at GunBroker I'm left to share this information on forums. I suggest all legit sellers to check your billing information and do an advanced search of completed items under your username ended auctions. Over the last 2 months GunBroker has billed me $350 for false listings created by "ONSITE HELP "

High volume dealer, I've sold close to 2k in guns. Do not expect a courteous reply if you need help or have an issue, stay away they're unethical and downright obnoxious to deal with.

GUNBROKERCOM LLC 1690 ROBERTS BLVD NW, STE 108 KENNESAW, GA *******-7829

This is for those that want to complain in person. You might want to be nicer now.

I am providing this address since they will not give it out willingly so they can hide from real humans. GunBroker is a company of cowards that hide behind an email address after they threaten their clients with collection agencies only to extort money they dont deserve.

Just like with ANY e-tailer there is a level of due-diligence you must do for each sale. IF you do not and have a bad experience than you have no one to blame but yourself. I have bought and sold on gunbroker for YEARS without a single problem. If accurate and transparent expectation levels are established & met along with good communication BOTH ways you should NEVER have a single problem.

I purchased a M1 carbine, in the ad it stated in "Good Condition" haha Ya," No Good" If I were to fire it the Gunsmith that I had to hire said it would Blow Up in my face! And either getting in touch with Gun Brokers or Getting a Quick Answer is a Joke. There is really NO SUPPORT they told me to call the FBI after me trying to reach the seller who would not answer. Really your better off just about any other way you can. In other words I paid over $700.00 for something that would kill me more than likely, But their going to find out who they screwed you watch the News and Read the Major Papers and Sporting Mags. I will teach them a lesson!

Bought a few things on gunbroker. The third item I purchased I did not read the description fully and ended up not wanting the item. Instead of just cancelling the bid, my entire account was terminated and I could not get back on to check the status of my other purchases. I WILL NEVER USE GUNBROKER AGAIN!

I want to make this review as short and sweet as I can. I decided to use this site to sell my daughter's tiny break action shotgun. And if I can go back and stop myself from doing it, I would. First of all fees. Tons of fees. So many fees that you're not going to make anything off the sale, they are. Second of all, lack of responses. You can shoot them a ticket and wait weeks, months, and keep following up with them and rarely ever get a response. Third, they charged me for more than half of what I made on the sale for a shipping service I never used, and took it out of my bank account without my approval. And that took a few months for them to correct and refund. Cut to months later and I have another charge. Apparently my bank was quick to correct gunbroker's mistake and charged them the amount they pulled out of my bank. Also, the amount gunbroker refunded was five dollars and a chunk of change less than what they pulled out of my bank. So, now gunbroker wanted me to pay again, only they wanted the full amount my bank charged them. I paid them the amount they refunded me, the negative five dollar amount. I'm sure they're going to fight me for the five bucks. All this just to sell a simple little cheap break action. I can't be done with them quick enough.

Tip for consumers:
Be careful about including your payment information on this site. They will pull out of your account without asking you. If you put in any tickets, be expecting months before they respond. If you do want to use this site to sell something, you're not making much, because they're going to hit you with a ton of fees. Sell locally and use a decent FFL.

I haven't had a chance to use this site. I contacted about ten of the listed alleged FFL holders closest to me, and only received a response from one. I merely inquired about their transfer and consignment service.

The one that I received a response from stated that they were having trouble with their phone, and that is why they were not following up with me. Seriously. I think that they are operating out of a house.

I don't mind if somebody doesn't want to do business with me, but if they are listed as open for business, the least they can do is respond with an articulate message.

I know for certain that another one of the FFL dealers whom I contacted has a brick and mortar store, and so he is not working out of his home. Still, I did not obtain a response from him.

Gunbroker needs to vet the people listed as possessing FFLs, and seeking to do business. It makes the entire site appear untrustworthy when these people respond strangely or not at all. Guns and untrustworthy people, do not go together.

I buy only antique guns; and I've bought more than I've sold on here. The only real complaint I have is that GB has no teeth compared to ebay when it comes to buyer/seller problems. About the only recourse they seem to have is to censure an unscrupulous seller.
I wish they had something like a buyer protection plan, because this site can have a LOT of seemingly deceitful sellers. You had better KNOW what you are looking for or at, and ask a LOT of questions before bidding. Especially ask for an inspection period. That is a must when buying guns on the internet. Even then, you may find out you got snookered by a fraudulent or ignorant seller. But on the positive side, 99% of the time a seller would try to make it right with me if I caught him on some unadvertised defect. I guess because they don't want their junk back!
Never the less, I get REAL tired of having to sift through the BS when trying to buy something on here.
If GB made it tough on BS artists, maybe the deceptive listings would diminish.
But then so might all the listings and there goes their commissions.
Still, there's nothing else that I know of that compares to GB for the variety of things for sale.So the old slogan is still as true as ever- Caveat Emptor!

After six months of nearly daily searching this site for a very nice 1903A3 I found a couple and 'watch listed' them. After watching them for a few auctions to see if the reserve price dropped (they were not even getting bid on) I started to get warning from GunBroker that my account was going to be suspended due to using a proxy server. Mind you that the computer, web service, browser and modem have been the same since I registered there. I don't use a proxy server and even told them that in response to their customer service warning. Their reply basically accused me of being there to commit fraud on a proxy server and they said they closed the issue with a warning.

Yup, they closed the issue all right. About a week later they suspended my account out of the blue with no explanation or correspondance.

They make you answer credit bureau type questions and jump through all kinds of hoops to get 'verified' then suspend you for your web service? What a pathetic joke of a site. Stay away from that site, it's run by morons.

Only reason I gave gunbroker 1 star is because there was no option to leave zero stars. I have been buying and selling on gunbroker for years and over $200,000 worth of stuff, Ive had my share of non paying bidders and gunbroker always refunded me till I had one on a $10,000 barrett. It was a 4 time non paying bidder and with my claim was the 5th. Gunbroker supposed to suspend accounts after 3 non paying bidders but they didnt with this guy. After I submitted by non paying bidder report, gunbroker refused to refund me the $600 they charged me. I refused to pay being that the item did not sell. A year lated my bill is at $1200 and still going. There is no phone number to contact them and they dont return emails and when you do get a email 4 or 5 months later, they tell you theres nothing they can do and close your case. For a business making millions, they have the worst customer service and could care less about their customers. You not only have to worry about getting what you pay for, but you dont have support from Gunbroker when something goes wrong.

Tip for consumers:
there are a lot of other gun sites out there that care about their customers a little more than gunbroker. DO NOT USE GUNBROKER.

GunBroker sucks. I will never use this site again. I made a few purchases on GunBroker that went fine until I had one that went south and received zero support from the so called customer support. If you are on here to get a review of GunBroker then take these reviews serious as they are true. There are some good deals on GunBroker but it is a gamble as to when the seller is a honest seller or not. I purchased a Glock 19 from a seller for a good price and when it arrived at my FFL it looked used as if it was bounced off the floor numerous times. It was listed as new and I paid for a new Glock 19. I immediately contacted the seller and he told me it was new and not damaged when he shipped it blah blah blah. He told me I got a good deal on it. I contacted GunBroker via email as they have no phone number and no human to talk to and they told me that I should try to work it out with the seller. The seller was making threats through emails and phone calls. After about 6 months I finally got my money back and had my FFL ship the gun back with no help from GunBroker. I had to contact my credit card company and dispute the charge and let them take care of the problem which took forever. After this major headache I will never use GunBroker again and plan to pay more money to purchase guns and accessories from local gun shops. This is a very short version of what really happened. Like I said GunBroker sucks and I will never visit their site again as they are greedy and don't care at all about any of their customers having problems.

Tip for consumers:
Patronize your local gun shops that are reputable and don't be afraid to pay more and keep your money local. They will take care of you during the purchase and after the purchase. You may find a good FFL that you can trust to purchase firearms from as well.

Since my first review of this abomination of a company on 12/14, when I withdrew my ads and let them know I am not interested in doing any business then or in the future they are still, over a year later trying to hit my credit card!
I wrote a 1 star review a while back and every month they still try to "steal" money from my account through a credit card I had to leave on their site to do business.
I have nothing listed, have sold nothing through them and cancelled the listings I had place almost immediately and yet they still try to steal money from me.
I have reported them to the BBB and written blogs everywhere about them.
I can't fathom thieves like this in business.
I have no listings, I have sold nothing, they have been notified by both the BBB and myself I am not doing "ANY" business nor have done any business and yet since they have a card on file they keep trying to charge against it.
This is so pathetic it's almost funny.
Why would anyone ever consider doing business with thieves like this?

To tell you the truth, I have probably conducted 2 dozen transactions on GunBroker and have only been marginally dissatisfied three times... and one of those was most likely due to my miscommunication. A lot can go wrong between buyers and sellers and it doesn't take much to overturn the cart... you just have to do your homework and establish contact with the seller so they realize they are dealing with a living human being. What disturbs me about GunBroker is that the site seems to have been taken over by the greediest bastards in the hills. Things are no longer reasonable, rational or affordable on this site anymore. For example, an 1887 Winchester 12 ga sold in a range of $400 to $700 dollars in 2015. Today the sellers are demanding $1800 to $3500 for a long gun with no real demand... so where are these market forces coming from you ask... that little quadrant in the brain called "GREED". Check the firearms books... these prices a four times the actual appraised value. Same with a Colt Python or Anaconda. Selling and buying guns is unfortunately being destroyed the way Reggie Jackson, Tim Allen, Jay Leno and Barrett-Jackson have destroyed the collector car hobby. And also unfortunately, there are idiots out there that will pay these prices because they don't know what they are doing or just plain have more money than brains so they don't care. Me... I'm out... the sellers on GunBroker can stick it... I'll find my arms in other ways and keep my money to provide for my family.

Started using this site a couple months ago, purchased a handgun and several boxes of ammo. Smooth, easy transactions. Last week I won three items from supohunter. Messages them right away, no response. Again 24 hours later, no response. 6 days go by, no correspondence from them so I leave neg. Feedback and take my money elsewhere.

Today, 11 days after auction ended, they leave me negative feedback blaming me for not calling them. I am Marine deployed to the middle east, so that is not easy and as a buyer I shouldn't have to call to complete a transaction online. Gunbroker terminated my account shortly afterward without any notice. Not suspended, automatic termination.

I reviewed their terms of use policy, and it states that both parties are required to make contact within 5 days. Luckily I got away without being ripped off, I got off easy. Never again will I use Gunbroker and will warn everyone I know of my experience unless they try to fix this. Their customer service is unreachable so that probably won't happen. Beware.
