Since signing up with Harry's, I never have to think about my shaving needs again. My supplies arrive on time, ready to use. It's economical and hassle free and the razors deliver an excellent shave.
If you're a guy who actually enjoys browsing the shaving products aisle at the grocery store, this service is NOT for you. For all the rest of us, make your life simpler, sign up, and forget about shopping for this stuff for the rest of your life! Me? I've got more important things to do.
My boyfriend and I tried out a few mail order razor brands, compared quality and prices, and Harry's came up in the lead. They're the go-to for us both now! (Though the frequency of deliveries is a reminder that we ought to be shaving more...)
I started using Harry's after seeing their ads and not wanting to pay the high price for Gillette. I was hopeful because the ads are well done and they talk about German engineering. Don't believe it. This is a cheaply made razor. It's all plastic and has a very cheap feel. It's perhaps a step up from a disposable in that regard. The shave isn't bad I admit. I can get a close shave but at a cost, serious razor burn! The lube strip is practically worthless! The blades don't last long either. I heard that the older design was better. I can't attest to that, but this design is not worth repeating.
My hubby got a starter set for Christmas but likes the razor he has, so he passed it on to me. I used it in the shower and I can't believe the amount of friction this thing creates. I've literally never had such an uncomfortable shave. I also cut myself in the back of my calf, that's hard to do, for the first time since I was a beginner leg shaver. My leg was not smooth after shaving, even with and oil to lubricate. I switched to the three day old, disposable, Gillette (3 blade) razor and got better results. Pretty pathetic.
Really sorry to hear that, Cora. If you shoot us an email at help@harrys.com we'll take care of you.
I put off shaving last week for 3 days. Say Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. I used your new razor blade with my routine preparations. I experienced what I thought was the edge of a broken coke bottle. I do not experience that service if I do not wait so long to shave. Not good. After a three day beard. Carl
Oh no! Was that the first and only time you used our razor? Only asking because it actually can take a few shaves to adjust to a new system like ours (new in that the blades are set at a slightly different angle than what you're used to). If you really think about the angle you hold the razor at and the amount of pressure you use, we think you'll find that the shave improves.
One of the most flexible online subscription plans I've ever had. They alert you to your next order and allow you to defer it if you don't happen to need more blades yet. As an occasional shaver, this is ideal.
I had really high hopes of becoming a Harry's fan; I just knew they were going to be great. I was disappointed. The handle feels nice, but the razors are cheap and do not shave well. The design of the razor also makes it hard to get that tough spot under the nose. A great product works great the first time and every time. I also dislike how Harry's tells you to keep using them as though something is wrong with your shaving ability rather than their razor. I don't buy shoes I have to break in and I don't buy razors that require practice. Back to the expensive but reliable Gillette.
Your shoe analogy is interesting and something we've never actually thought of before. Certain types of leather will, in fact, break in and be far more comfortable and form-fitting after you've worn the shoes for a bit. Just the nature of the beast. Somewhat similarly, our razors, because of their slightly different angle than you're used to, can take a few shaves to "break in" (though in this case breaking in doesn't have to do with the razors changing, but rather you adjusting and figuring out the right angle and pressure to use). To be clear, that has nothing to do with us thinking that you don't know how to shave; we aren't blaming you rather than taking responsibility for the quality of our razors. It is simply a fact, and something that we've seen so many times over the past 4 years (where someone doesn't like the shave the first couple times, sticks with it, and then begins to love it once that adjustment happens) that we know to suggest it anytime a similarly poor experience like this one comes up. It sounds like you'll simply part ways with us, and we certainly understand that, but we promise it's not just some line we feed you to try to sell razors. We want you to get the best shave possible, and because so many guys are getting that shave with us, we want to do whatever we can to get you to have the same experience as them.
I've been using Harry's razor blades and shaving cream for a couple of years, and I'm very pleased with both the quality and the customer service. Harry's recently sent my package to an old address, but they replaced it at no charge. They seem to be very focused on keeping their customers satisfied!
I'm proud to be in the first wave of Harry's customers, back before anyone knew a lot about the products or the people who are responsible for delivering them to us and dealing with customer service issues. My trust was well-placed -- I've rarely seen employees as gracious and helpful as the people I speak with at Harry's.
But the real deal is (are) the products... I save so much money, time and hassles by having Harry's provide me with all of my shaving and face care needs. And the quality easily matches or exceeds similar yet much more expensive products.
Thanks for all your support, Jim!
The best shave I've ever had. Seriously.
I'll let you in on a secret. I'm a woman. My husband recommended Harry's, so I placed an order, and I love the way my skin feels after shaving. And I would use the aftershave gel, except that it smells too many. Maybe you should start a Harriet's line of products. Just saying...

Answer: Great question, Tony! Blade lifespan will definitely vary a bit based on your particular hair type, shave schedule, and blade care habits. While there's no exact standard for how long a cartridge will last you, we find that the average person likes to replace blades every 6-8 shaves. The idea is that our blades are durable and will last a long time, at a great price.
Answer: The new blades are not as smooth as the old ones and you cannot buy the old ones anymore.
Answer: Absolutely! There are lots of women who use our razors so we'd definitely encourage you to give them a try.
Answer: I had a problem with that when I first got them and found out that I wasn't pusing them on the handle far enough. Also if you hold too close to the blade and choke up on the handle too much your fingers tend to push the blades off. When I held back further on the handles... no worries. Since I changed those two things, I don't have that problem.
Answer: Because when they changed the design of the blade by adding the trimmer, the blade lost its smooth shaving quality, life of the blade and no burn feeling. Now it burns after the shave, blade does not last that long and all you are left with is a cheap blade. If they bring back there 1st generation blades back, I will be the first one to buy them and give back my business to Harry's for LIFE!
