I actually love Hautelook. I mainly buy kids clothes from here, and I think it is awesome that they have a return policy, which is so important with children. You really never know how things are going to fit, especially if you're trying new brands -- as Hautelook often showcases brands you may not know about. Their shipping takes longer than other flash sales sites, but I really don't mind. And I've never waited more than 3 weeks for anything. I have never had a bad experience buying or returning merchandise.
Sometimes you can find good deals, but 75% (3 out of 4) of my orders have either arrived with missing items or one a pair of sandals that broke after being worn 5 times. I will say that their customer service has been very good every time. This most recent order was just the last straw because I can't be running to Nordstrom Rack (which is not even in my city) to return stuff all the time.
Booo this website was a huge disappointment!
I ordered a calvin klein sequin skirt for the holidays, on 11/30. I waited 2 weeks, only to rcv an email that they had incorrectly sized the skirt. Instead of 2, 4, 6... it was actually S, M, L. (I ordered an 8 b/c i am between an 8 & a 6) the email stated that i was being sent a large and i was not able to change it. I never would have ordered the large, woulda gone with M.
Anyways... i waited & waited and missed all the pre holiday parties. Finally on 12/23... Still no tracking number available on my account... I called and canceled.
Thankfully the canceling process was the easiest part. But clearly they sold merchandise they did not have yet. Simple solution - don't do that.
I am not wasting my time again with this shop.

I bought an offer from non-refundable " Getaway offers"! Guess what I called the hotel the night before my trip to check the prices, they offer me the same room for 25% less money. I paid 180.00 to Hautlook offer for Lanai Garden room in Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego on November 27 2010. Hotel offered 120.00 dollars when i called the night before. DON'T LET THEM FOOL YOU.

I return more than I buy. BEWARE OF NON-REFUNDABLE ITEMS! This means they are not desirable by ANYONE! Items are not described fully leading to sure disappointment. And beware if you have any problems with this site... their customer service is D- at best. I am unsubscribing.

I would give 0 stars if I could, bought a pair of shoes the heel broke with in one wear. Called someone at customer service and was informed that since I wore them they could not return them. Clearly a quality issue on their part so kinda ridiculous they won't work with me. Asked to speak to a supervisor ( as a retail manager myself is my least favorite sentence) who wouldn't bother to speak to me themselves and just had the representative do it, (which to me screams bad supervisor) to tell me the exact same thing. I have 18 year olds that work for me that can handle a situation better then those employees.
Takes a lot for me to complain since I have been on the other side of it numerous times, SAVE YOUR MONEY GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

PROS: Same pros as any other sample sale site - there are deals.
CONS: BE A SMART SHOPPER. On a few occasions, I have noticed that they'd OVERSTATE what the retail price would be. For instance, I remember shopping a particular brand of which I own many pieces. One shirt showed an MSRP much higher than the company's website, as well as every other legitimate boutique site online (like shopbop, revolve, etc.).
While the discounts are definitely under retail price, it might not be as big a discount as you may think.

Well, although I never write reviews, I felt compelled to do so, after reading many about Hautelook. I've purchased more than 130 items (you read correctly-130) from them and yes, twice I received the wrong item(same brand), but other than that, I always get what I ordered. They do have late delivery, but you are informed before you place an order. Some orders are placed with partners, some ship directly from their warehouse. I read people complaining about quality, but lets face it, If you buy a leather bag for $65, you shouldn't expect the highest quality! Or, if you buy shoes for $25, make no mistake, those are not meant to last or be the most comfortable. That does not mean, that you can't find a great deal on great quality items( often past seasons'). I've bought from Hautelook many great products: from shoes and boots, to clothing, perfumes, books, bedding and etc. If you are not sure that you are getting a good deal, do a quick research online before you place your order. I have ordered a number of times from them and have finally learned my lesson. 1) Their promised delivery time is grossly inaccurate. It takes two to even three months to ship an item to you, not to mentioned multiple delays. They do not tell you if shipping has been delayed. You have to contact them to find out. 2) More than one occasion I ordered something and they did not include it in my package. Only to have me find out they made some stupid mistake and never included in my order (but charged me for it). 3) The site is very vague in describing items - like dimension of purses, length of necklace, or sizes for different brands of clothes.
I do give them that they take returns back at the store no problem. Luckily I live near a Nordstrom Rack that is really good with returns (like all Nordstorms). Have not experienced a mailed in return yet.
After waiting for some T-shirts that I ordered for my son and have them delayed shipping for 4 weeks, only to open the package to find 3 of the 4 shirts "missing" (apparently I ordered it but the "system" made a mistake and did not included in my order, but conveniently charged me for it!...) I will never shop with them again!

DON"T SHOP WITH THEM!

Customer service is just horrible, merchandise is ok if you are willing to wait for months to receive it. I am in Canada and their shipping and customs are horrific and a total rip off. Stay away!

This company really is the worst. After putting up with mistake after mistake after mistake; this company doesn't even know enough to wrap eye shadow palettes, instead tossing their makeup products hap hazardously in a box and acting surprise when stuff arrives broken; THEN they can't even read your order and manage to pack not 1 but 8 (EIGHT) incorrect items into a single order. I mean, come-in?! Which, I might add, they then offer you a discount on your next order for and expect you to spend more money with them after you return their items. I mean, in what world would I want to shop with you at this point?! Their resolution is literally, 'oh, we're sorry, we'll file a report'. Oh they file reports into perpetuity alright, without anything ever changing. I could go live at the post office to return every wrong item in their package (MIND YOU, you have to wait to get a refund on the wrong crap they send you too!). Had them remove my account, plenty of other companies out there and frankly, I am done taking their bs. Don't waste you time, money and energy!

I've been a hautelook customer for years! I liked how their site seems to offer the same items I would see in other sites for a much much lower price. So I always go to their site first. I agree with other reviewers that the service degraded to a record low when nordstrom took over. Returns and even shipping are harder to track. You order might say it's still in transit when in reality you already received it. What takes the cake for me is when I ordered some NYX items and ended up receiving a pair of ugly boots. I called it in and they gave me a shipping label to return the items back in January31st. They received the items Feb13th. It's now March5th and still no sign of any refund. I've followed up constantly to no avail.
HAUTELOOK NEEDS TO CLOSE DOWN AS A BUSINESS.

I was a long time Hautelook customer but my recent expericence with them has convinced me to never ever shop with them again. I purchased 4 items from a sale and 2 weeks later received an email that I was not going to be getting 3 out of the 4. When I called, they could only apologize and pass me on to yet another supervisor. I even left a message for the head of customer service, Chris, who never bothered to call me back. The deals are not worth the irritation. Their parent company Nordstrom should teach them about the importance and priceless effect good customer service has on a business. Ok - so an update to this situation is that after another call and some phone tag Chris got in touch with me and has come up with a resolution to the situation, which I am waiting for. I am hopeful and did get the apology I was looking for, which I respect. I hope that the management at the site will realize that if they give their customer service representatives more training and authority, they will have a lot less frustrated customers! I will change my rating once this is resolved.

I made an order on Sep 28th. I was sooooooo excited for my purchase. So each day I was looking for my shipment e-mail. Finally it came on the 10th, and gave an arrival window of the 14th-16th. It is now the 17th and the tracking info indicates that I will not receive my shipment today, in fact, it gave no estimate of arrival. In the near 2 weeks it took them to ship the item I got curious, and began looking elsewhere. (too little, too late) :( I discovered my coveted item for less! Lesson learned, I could have payed less and been in possession by now, had I only made a better choice in retailer. Too boot, my item is deemed "non-returnable" by HL!
So to recap, If you enjoy overpaying and waiting 3+ weeks to get what you paid for. By all means use Haute Look. I however, will not make the mistake of patronizing this company EVER again. It may seem harsh, but there is NO logic behind paying more, just to wait longer! :(

Search other sites, you will likely find a better price and more reasonable shipping times!!!

I have no idea what all these negative reviews are going on about -- I live in Canada and can tell you that I have never had a bad experience with Hautelook -- the site is amazing and the deals even better
It's a clearance site so know what you are ordering and do it fast -- that's how this works folks so get with the program

I was really happy shopping with Haute look until I realized that they are SCAM artists. I was purchasing some jewelry from H2 Hammerman and it was listed on their site as 56% off. So just by chance I decided to check out the prices elsewhere, well GUESS what, the prices on Hautelook were inflated by 20% to 30% over even SAKS FIFTH AVENUE (regular not discount). So instead of getting 50% off actually you are getting 20%. They are INFLATING the price over what it is normally sold retail so that you think you are getting a bigger discount! CHECK IT OUT people. THIS IS AN ILLEGAL PRACTICE. I caught them on this and let them know and they were extremely rude to me after I have spend thousands of dollars on their website.

Buyer Beware -
On May 5th, I bought thebalm makeup products through Hautelook. The palettes and makeup products were 50-70% off. Sounded like an absolute steal! On the website it said that the item was shipped on May 21 and it was to arrive around May 31st. Today is August 4. I still have no received my products. There has been no updates on my tracking number. I have contacted the representatives on NUMEROUS occasions and through different channels (via live chat, emails, phone calls). Each representative gives me "oh, I am so sorry about this. I will investigate and I will personally contact you as soon as possible". How naive of me because NO ONE did ended up following up with me. To this day, I still don't know where my package it. I made a dispute claim with my credit card company and I received my money back. I sent them an email about their poor customer service. They gave me a 30$ credit. RIght now, they are having a sale on thebalm again. As tempting as it is... as much as I want to use up the $30 credit. I do not want to go through that hassle again. I browsed through the reviews of this website and saw many people went through I went through. Ultimately it is not worth it and I would rather pay full price on these items and to deal with this company.
I do not recommend this company to any one. Based on the reviews and my personal experience - you are taking a chance.

I may be in the minority, but I've only had positive experiences with them. They recently joined the Nordstrom family (and Nordstrom is known for their wonderful customer service), so the day they offered free returns for store credit, I took it. Within a week they had received my return and issued my credit.
I also sent them a customer inquiry about my return, and received a reply within 24 hours. They also sent me a follow-up questionaire on how well they answered my question. I believe they are trying to improve their customer service, since I'm fully aware they were lacking in that department in the past.
My only gripe is the irregularity in price of shipping and speed of shipping, but I believe that just depends on the company they're dealing with, and not HauteLook's blame to take.
Anyway, love the website and would definitely recommend it. As far as the items I purchased are concerned, the original prices that they were marking off were true to retail (if you would buy it from the actual brand's store), so I definitely got my 50-75% discounts worth (and have not been scammed with price inflation). It might exist, but do a little research first and just get a good deal when you can!

I placed an order January 1 for a Morphe brushes eyeshadow palette and a Billion Dollar Brows Eyebrow pencil. I figured since HauteLook is a Nordstorm company, it must be good, but I was so wrong. It took well over a month for my Morphe palette to arrive, and I had to continually remind them to send me my product. Contacting and trying to hear from customer service is a NIGHTMARE! Thankfully, after a month (over 3 weeks) of waiting, they sent me the correct Morphe palette unharmed. However, my Billion Dollar Brows product never came. They sent me the wrong product. After waiting over a month, I was so disappointed. I contacted them and they said they would refund me. I will be checking with my bank to make sure because I don't trust this site. I wish I had read reviews before shopping on HauteLook. I'd rather pay full price for products instead of ordering from this awful website! Don't use HauteLook! People who do recommend it, are only trying to get money for the site because if you invite a friend to HauteLook, the site gives you credit on purchases. Don't make my mistake! Avoid this HauteLook at all costs!

All the positive reviews on this site is from Hautelook workers trying to do damage control. Hautelook overall has bad customer service as well as bad employee relations. This company either needs to shut down or change their policies.

I've only tried to purchase three things from this site. At first I was thrilled because the deal on the dress I first purchased was amazing, but when the dress arrived a few days before the wedding I was going to wear it to, it was the wrong dress!
They gave me a refund and a $10 credit, which expired before I could use it. Despite this incident I tried a second time, this time ordering two shirts for my boyfriend for Christmas. I loved the design and the price on them! But I used the wrong credit card and immediately sent them an email to see if they could cancel it and reorder it with my current debit card. Their policy says they will respond within 24 hours, but it took them two days to tell my the brand was processing fast so they could cancel it or change the billing information. A week or two later ONE of the shirts arrives. I call about the second one and they tell me it should arrive a week or so later, but for the inconvenience they gave me a $10 credit. Two days later I receive an email saying that the shirt is actually out of stock and they have to refund me and they give me a $10 credit-- which is weird since two weeks earlier they refused to cancel the order because it had already been processed! If you want more reliability, try ruelala or myhabit, they have deals that are just as great! :)

Hautelook is not all its cracked up to be. I have ordered from them 4 times now and have found myself very unimpressed. My first disappointment was a pair of boots I bought that look nothing like they did in the picture and feel SO cheap. I am very unimpressed with the quality of products I have received, clearly there is a reason there products are 80% off. The only purchase I didn't mind was the stuff I bought for boyfriend which I thought was decent quality for the money. The thing that turns me off most about this site and has lost many of my sales is the 15 minute limit they have on the items in your cart in which you then lose those items and have to re-add them IF they are still available and let me tell you 15 minutes is NOT enough time to shop the site and they clearly are just encouraging impulse buys. The shipping also has lost many of my purchases its basically $10 which is ridiculous and in my mind takes off from the actual savings you are getting. I'm sure there are a few gems on the site just make sure your really careful on trying to find them and usually those gems are sold out in the first 20 minutes. Anything that is still sitting there at the end of the day and is not on hold or sold out is not worth it more than likely (there's a reason they arent sold out). Anyways happy style hunting, I'm sure there are a few good finds.

I have been a loyal customer for a very long time; however, their service is no longer as good as they used to be. It is time to STOP SHOPPING AT THEIR SITE. THEY ARE HORRIBLE NOW. There are countless time their merchandises do not arrive, orders are cancelled without notifications unless your credit card company inform you of the refunds, their customer service ignore you, ect.

I ordered a lamp that came in damaged. Customer service promised a replacement in two months! It was a pain to wait, but I said I would. Two months later when I called to check the status, they said it "wasn't available anymore" and issued a refund without me even agreeing to a refund (even though they were selling that SAME LAMP on their site 2 days later for more money). I think they didn't want to sell me the lamp at the lowert price I paid, that's was they FORCED a refund on me. Customer service was rude ansd hung up on me several times!

I have ordered a few items from this website and have been pretty happy. I will say though that it is VERY annoying to pay 9 dollars to ship a 20 dollar item and then not have it arrive for a month! I do not understand why the shipping is so high... its not like its a rush delivery. Their shipping is one of the main reasons I so not buy more from this company.
The real issue I have is with the last order I places. I ordered a Dress for my high school reunion and I was so excited when it cam in the mail yesterday... until I opened it and it was a SHIRT! Same design same company but not a DRESS! I called customer service expecting them to send me the DRESS that I ordered without too much hassle but I guess that cant be done. They let me know that they have no control over that inventory and can not get me the item I ordered. They offered a return or 20% off the item I got. Truly I am not happy with either... the shirt is ugly and I want my dress. Not to mention now I have to drag it to the post office on my day off and ship it back! So annoyed they should have more control over what they sell.
