HauteLook has a rating of 2.0 stars from 367 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about HauteLook most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and tracking number problems. HauteLook ranks 113th among Designer Clothes sites.
I actually love Hautelook. I mainly buy kids clothes from here, and I think it is awesome that they have a return policy, which is so important with children. You really never know how things are going to fit, especially if you're trying new brands -- as Hautelook often showcases brands you may not know about. Their shipping takes longer than other flash sales sites, but I really don't mind. And I've never waited more than 3 weeks for anything. I have never had a bad experience buying or returning merchandise.
Sometimes you can find good deals, but 75% (3 out of 4) of my orders have either arrived with missing items or one a pair of sandals that broke after being worn 5 times. I will say that their customer service has been very good every time. This most recent order was just the last straw because I can't be running to Nordstrom Rack (which is not even in my city) to return stuff all the time.
OMG, people please! For those folks complaining of quality of products, many of you I bet just go to the site without reviewing the shipping policies, or even understanding how the site works. This IS a Nordstrom Company! How are you able to return to Nordstrom Rack? This site host "Sales Events" with multiple "Brand" partners. They do not keep ongoing inventory. They depend on the Brand partners to provide the merchandise described in the pictures, (you are placing an order based on a picture and basic description)! Never once have I read on the site, "quality guaranteed". If you don't like the quality or if it looks cheap or whatever, simply return it! Please read the shipping time-frame located in the FAQ's! They never claim to offer over night or even faster shipping. The entire process when ordering from them is located on their site. When speaking to member care, I was informed of this information. Hautelook has over 16 million members, with up to 10 million of the members placing orders monthly! There are issues of course as with lots of online retailers, nothing is 100%, but the complaints and issues received by the company are only about 2-3% of the over all orders placed, which is minimal. Saying this means their overall sales platform is working and they have many many satisfied members whom place and receive orders without issue. I have made several orders, some take longer, but this is expected. If I don't like something, (which has occurred) luckily I have a Nordstrom Rack dept store I can return to, or just process a return ONLINE, VIA YOUR HAUTELOOK ACCT, which is very easy. Don't sign up for a site if you don't understand how it works and then complain and call it a scam. That's just not fair!

I bought 6 items for fathers day. I planned about 2 months before and also calculated the dates that I would receive the items before fathers day so I could give to my father as a surprise. On my part - I forgot to add the suite number to my apartment and ask customer service to help me change it. I tried 3 times, each time PROMISING that they will get back to me about my order. Never did they get back to me. When I did call them about it I was just greeted as - "I'll look into it and get back to you on Monday". After 2 months, they emailed me saying I received all my orders but they did not. Honestly, after 3 months of waiting when told me they have changed all parcels of my orders they never came. I emailed them and they refunded my money. HERES the BIG PART THAT PISSES ME OFF. They did more than a 50% RESTOCKING FEE, charged me for the RETURN FEE and ALSO charged me for international FEE. I HIGHLY suggest that either you get the address right, or don't shop at this lousy online store. Because their customer service is SH! T, and giving me back 10% of a $150 order is BULLSH! T.

At first I was excited to see they were selling Juicy Couture so I bought four items all IN TIME all AVALIABLE. Three weeks later I recieve a return email saying they had to refund my money because they didnt have the bag I ordered. That crushed my dreams. THEN a week later I recieve my order and I had ordered a pair of Juicy couture shoes size 6. What they sent me was a RIGHT shoe size 6 and a RIGHT shoe size 6 1/2! Two RIGHT shoes completely different! Who does that. I am extreamly dissapointed.

As if Nordstrom wasn't my fave store, I have made it part of my routine to get to their flash sale site daily at 11 am EST on the dot. I promise I am not one of those people who keep holding and holding an item that you want only to let it go hours later. As long as my cart has at least $100 worth of goods (to qualify for free shipping) my choices are gone from your possibilities thisfast.
This past week HauteLook has added Nordstrom Off The Rack for HauteLook. Double your bargains, triple your bargains, quadruple the fun. I just love dealing with this site. Sometimes shipping times can be two to three weeks from time of purchase, but you are told that upfront before you purchase. If you only purchased $85 dollars worth and then go back for another round later in the day you can call their customer service and they'll combine the orders for free shipping. Basically you are treated like the royalty that you are as their customer. If you've never been to a Nordstrom store, trust me when I say/type that they are the the best at treating you like a Queen or King. If they can do anything to make you happy they'll do it. Credits are often found on my account before I get an eMail letting me know that I'm about to receive one. I thought that this might have been the exception, not the rule, due to how much I purchase, so I asked my daughter (who has her own account) to deal with Customer Service and ask them to combine a shipment, and they did it for her, as well, so obviously EVERY customer is important to them because she buys from the site much less frequently than I and she spends much less that I do, too.

Good selection, but expensive and long shipping process.
Have never had to return, the other reviews here will make me a more cautious buyer.

I like shopping at Haute, there are always great deals, however shipping sucks. Never less than 14 days to get an item.
Tip for consumers:
Shipping time is horrible. It takes forever to get your item.

The Good: I have to start out with any site that offers up to 75% off products that you would already be paying full price for is worth checking out. One of the most unique things about this site is that they offer sales on products that have prices that are usually universal. If you have ever tried to find a sale on Louis Vuitton it is pretty much impossible, well not on HauteLook.
The Bad: Sounds amazing, doesn't it? Well just like everything there are some downfalls to consider. Products are on the site for a limited amount of time, and supply can be limited. If you want something and don't snatch it up right away you could miss out on the opportunity. New items are listed daily at 8AM and the best products have been known to sell out within 24 hours. If you are a diehard shopper I suggest you check out the site daily, this can be a bit of an inconvenience when life gets busy.
Since new brands are added to the site everyday it's hard to list exactly what you should expect, in the past they have offered Tom Ford, Urban Decay, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and so much more. Over 50 different brands can be found on the site at any time.
Considering both to up and downfalls of the site I really recommend HauteLook. This is my favorite places to find gifts for family and friends. I get the credit of buying amazing gifts, and my bank account doesn't have to suffer. I have to say HauteLook makes me a favorite, especially around Christmas time. Last year they offered a great sale on UGGs, made the perfect gift for the teenage girls in my family.

I couldn't even place an order through HauteLook, that's how bad this site is.
I have looked at their sales on the occasion, but since it's $100 for free shipping, and shipping is an outrageous fee, I have never pulled the trigger. But today I found a dress and a few smaller items that I wanted to buy, and I met the free shipping requirement. So I placed everything in my cart, added my address and credit card information, and... I could not place my order. I hit the button and nothing happened. I didn't want to place the order more than once so I contacted the customer service through the online chat. Well, the rep Kelsey told me to exit out, delete my browsing history, and cookies, and try again. I did, and nothing. So she told me to try another browser, and I did, and still nothing. She told me I had to close out and try again, same steps. The site was not having a problem it was my device. So I tried another computer, and the same issues occurred, it just spun on the page. She then said I had to try it on my phone, which outraged me because I prefer to not shop on my phone. And I did it, but it still did not work. And she insisted it was my error.
I then looked at my bank account, and I had NUMEROUS pending charges tying my money up, all because the rep insisted I keep trying numerous browsers. I then tried to call my bank to have the transactions cleared.
The reps had no concern, they were insisting it was my error and my credit card was not valid, and yet, when I logged onto my bank, I had numerous transactions pending from HauteLook. And they said they couldn't do anything to clear those pending balances out.
Needless to say, I never placed my order, nor will I. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Not worth a sale.

I have such a bad taste in my mouth from this company that it's difficult to write this review without being overcome with irritation! Luckily I have only ordered from them a few times and now consider it a lesson learned. The quality is consistently that of road side vendors selling knockoffs. My first order (a couple of inexpensive sun dresses) took ages to get to me only to look cheap and flimsy. This was forgivable because I paid next to nothing for them. The next order was a pair of strappy sandals that were defective and a pair of boots that were supposed to be leather and smelled of diesel. Again the order took forever. The next and last order was a leather satchel that looked beautiful. The satchel was supposedly a $400. + bag. Interestingly, when I looked the company up online the only store that carried it was Nordstrom Rack (not found on the Nordstrom site) and a thrown together site for the company (I think it was Terrazos but can't really remember as I seem to have blocked it over the past couple of months). The companies site was no longer in existence by the time I received the bag because as usual it took weeks to arrive! When the bag arrived it also smelled like diesel! The companies logo that was on the outside was stamped into the leather off center and stitched across! The lining felt like muslin and was sewn into the inside pocket, so was virtually useless! I have owned expensive handbags and this monstrosity never was and never could be a high end bag. Walmart would not have sold something this atrocious. You aren't getting a deal shopping at Hautelook, you're getting taken! After my two returns and waiting weeks for reimbursement, I won't even look at this site again. They do have super nice people in customer service though; the one redeeming quality.

Don't even bother

Hautelook has been really hit or miss for me. Yes they offer great deals but customer service is a mess. I've had 3 transactions with Hautelook. The first 2 went smoothly, and the products were as described. The third was such a headache that I will never shop there again.
I ordered a pair of boots from a well-known brand. The boots were a familiar model that I saw from last season but had a different style name. I purchased them but after googling the style name and saw a picture of a different boot, I was worried that perhaps they mislabeled the boots either with the wrong name or wrong picture.
I called literally the day after to cancel the order but was told that the boot was already in the warehouse (which is unlikely that it would arrive at the Hautelook warehouse the very next day). For that (poor) reason, they couldn't cancel the order. Well if my order was in the warehouse so soon after ordering, why did it take TWO WEEKS for the boots to arrive?
And when they arrived, they were the WRONG boots, just as I suspected! Now if they let me cancel, none of this would've happened. I called Hautelook 4 times to get the refund process going and had to ask that they pay for my return shipping since this was not my mistake. I also called to confirm that they were refunding me, not simply giving me credit. All this was "noted" on my account, yet 2 weeks later after returning the boots, I see a $120 credit in my Hautelook account! I'm never shopping from Hautelook again, what will I do with the $120 credit?
So I had to contact them AGAIN and get it sorted. Thankfully everything did get sorted out but it was way too much trouble for what it's worth!

First things first I shop online ALOT and Hautelook has got to be by far the worst shopping experience I have ever had! As a matter of fact this is the first negative review I think I have ever written. That's not to say that I have never been a little let down or frustrated with a purchase before just not to the point of taking the actual time to write a review. However my experience with Hautelook was so unbelievable awful I believe it warrants warning others. I purchased a pair of Muk Luk boots on Oct. 19th promptly paid, received my order confirmation and went on thinking everything was all and well like any other online purchase would have been. After almost 2 weeks had passed and I still had not received shipping info I began to grow concerned so I called customer service. I was assured that everything with the order was fine, they were waiting for the company to send the items to them and I would receive shipping notification soon. Another week and a half passes with no shipping notification. At this point I had already ordered other items elsewhere to compliment my purchase so I send an email. I am then told that the item was there and marked as picked in their system and would be shipping no later than within 72hrs. Another week goes by and no shipping info. Emailed them again and was told the item was due to ship and they would follow up on Tues personally. Well now it's Friday and no shipping or follow up so I emailed them again and was told."oops we didn't have enough of the item so you will get a refund"... ya right. Save your time, money and sanity and shop elsewhere these people are complete HACKS!

Got an invitation to join from Nordstrom with a $25 credit offer towards my first purchase so I decided to check it out.
A Few of My Purchases:
Purse - Bigger than I thought it was going to be (but that was my own fault on not looking at the measurements) but great quality and I was very satisfied. Tons of compliments. Not a brand I was familiar with.
Leggings – Received item but did not like the quality (the bottoms weren't hemmed) and for the price I paid, I wasn't going to keep them. Sent them back and got refund no problem.
Bebe Peacoat – Didn't like the material and sent it back. Refund back to my card no problem (and quickly).
Swimsuit – Got an email about this purchase that the manufacturer didn't have enough for what HauteLook had originally agreed to sell for them. So, my order got cancelled. I was disappointed cause it was a super cute suit (with the gathered butt and lingerie like look) and it was a STEAL (which is why I assume they didn't fulfill their order like they were supposed to). However, HauteLook ended up giving me a credit per piece - $20 for each so $40 total.
Robert Graham Shirt – My most recent order is for a Robert Graham shirt. Which was pretty much half priced and I used my credit. The washing instructions on HauteLook vs. Robert Graham's official site were different. HauteLook also didn't list all the material used for the shirt like Robert Graham's site did. I indicated this on the survery I took afterwards.
I prefer to purchase brands I am already familiar with because I've had to send a few things back due to not liking the materials used or stitching (no hems on the bottom of $40 leggings does not work for me -- although that could be the "look" the designer was going for?).
Overall, I trust the site, have been happy with my purchase experiences and have not had any problems with customer service. One thing I will note… the $25 credit offer Nordstrom emailed me when I first signed up was not being accepted by the site. I used the online chat for customer service and they took care of it right away so I could make my purchase. Also, my returns/credits have been credited back to either my account or to my credit card very quickly. I would purchase from HauteLook again.

I purchased a WHITE pre-owned Dolce & Gabanna peacoat from www.hautelook.com for about $500 in total (incl. Tax and shipping) during their "decadestwo 1 Italian label" event in late February, 2011. I normally don't buy pre-owned items but the pictures they offered showed a flawless coat and their description mentioned "next to new condition", so I ordered it. The item arrived on March 1,2011 and I discovered a thin stain on the front of the coat (which looked like a pen mark). I immediately reported it to hautelook.com. I opened the coat and also found multiple dirt stains all over the lower edge inside the coat. Again, this is a WHITE coat and stains are fetal for white coats! This case was also reported and filed (I sent pictures of this to hautelook.com reps). Hautelook.com refused to let me return it since it was a final sale and offered me $50 for dry cleaning instead after a few days of dispute. I said I prefer to send it back and have them dry clean it and then send it back to me; and that if the stains are all out, I'd be more than happy to take it back. They emailed me back saying, all they can do is giving me $50 and if the dry cleaner is unable to get the stains out, it is their (dry cleaner's) responsibility. Either way, it is my fault to buy a bad product and they will not take a responsibility no matter what. I think it is my right to get what I paid for- I paid for a "next to new condition" coat, not a dirty used coat that I would have NOT bought if it was accurately described. I decided to report this so that there won't be victims like me in the future and that hautelook.com stops deceiving their customers. Anyway, if you buy anything bad from hautelook.com, know that they won't take the responsibility.

SO after several more hours of trying to get through on the live chat only to be cut off once I asked a single question, I finally got through on the phone( after a 65 minute wait). Spoke with Kirkland who explained that the fulfillment center was having "some difficulties "she spoke with her supervisor and they agreed that she would prioritize my orders so that I would get them by Christmas. She guaranteed they would get here in time. It is now 12/23 and there is no shipping information on the website and I don't have my items, some of which were ordered Nov. 3. They just lied to me. This site is just taking money and not delivering anything. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE! Unless you like donating your money to large corporations.
New update after multiple more chats and phone calls, always being disconnected I finally got to a rep who said they oversold so I wouldn't be getting any of the pants I ordered. I spoke with a supervisor who said he would reac out to the rep and call me. After another week ( its now been 21/2 months since I ordered te pants) I noticed the order had been canceled. I contacted Micah and he said they couldn't do anything as they sold more than were available. Although I was one of the first to order, mu order was not fulfilled, not a single pair of the 3 pairs I ordered and paid for. I did get a refund, and $10 credit for my "inconvenience". ( even though they had another event wit the same vendor. They couldn't explain why the order couldn't be filled if they had more inventory available.) I called their legal department but I was told someone would call me back. That has not happened. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. Try Rue LA LA or Ideeli they may be better

This website has some nice merchandise. The ordering process is simple and because I am a Canadian Resident I have come to expect long waits to receive my orders from the USA. However, clothing and footwear don't always fit. The return process from Canada is an absolute nightmare.
This is my most recent experience. I mailed the package on Dec 22nd. It was delivered to the Hautelook warehouse on Dec. 28th in Burlington, ON. I have since contacted Hautelook three times by 'live chat'. The first occasion, I waited a long time but could not get a customer service agent. On Jan 13th, I got lucky. I got connected and the customer service agent was pleasant. She looked up the Landmark Global tracking site and confirmed for me that the package had been received and the return would be processed soon.
Today, I contacted Hautelook for the 3rd time. I was told by a customer service person named Kameron that the returned merchandise had not be received yet according to the Canada Post website. (That's another complaint for another day). According to Canada Post tracking, the package has been out for delivery since December 28th. Out of concern that the package might have gotten lost, I contacted Canada Post before my first 2 attempts to clarify the situation with Hautelook. Both Canada Post and the previous Hautelook cs person verified that the package had been delivered to the Burlington warehouse.
After repeating this info a couple of times, Kameron finally decided to check the Landmark Global site which confirmed what I have been told. When I asked when I could expect my refund, Kameron told me there would be an update in 3-5 days. I advised her earlier in the conversation that my entire file (orders and returns) have disappeared on the website. This "update", if available in 3-5 days, would be obtained how?! When I again asked how long it would take to get a refund there was no response for many minutes. I ended the chat and have resolved to shop online elsewhere in the future.

Hautelook is HORRIBLE. STAY AWAY. I thoughth this would be a reputable place to order from given that it is owned by Nordstrom. But it is nothing like Nordstrom. In fact, Nordstrom should not advertise that Hautelook is "Nordstrom Company" because it has nothing in common with Nordstrom. I ordered 3 items on 4/4/14. I finally supposedly received 2 of the items the following week. Not bad I thought until I opened them. The first item was a Rebecca Minkoff bag which sold me on the price. The bag was not bad - just not to my liking. I am a handbag snob. Unfortunately the packing receipt was for a pair of Ben Sherman socks that should have been delievered to someone else so I had to call Customer Care and be on hold for about 1/2 hr so I could get that straightened out so I could retun the item. The second item was a Hello Kiity Ring. I opened the package and it is a SECOND Rebecca Minkoff bag! However the receipt said it was the Hello Kitty Ring!? I am still waiting for the 3rd item. When I called Cutomer Care they were apologetic and said I could send every thing back... I though about it and said to myself if they messed up the order -- I am sure they will mess up the return. Fortunaltely, I have a Nordstrom Rack close by so I returned everything there. The sales associate was shocked about what happened, apologized and we got a good laugh out of it. I am a frequent online shopper but I will NEVER shop with Hautelook again!

I've never had to write such a bad review like this in a long time. And it's coming from a Nordstrom owned company, which is embarrassing. I want my experience to be on a second website, which is this one, just so people are aware of how HauteLook does things.
I ordered some Fenty Puma by Rihanna creepers and a Fenty fleece backpack, both I couldn't find anywhere else on sale except for HL. I didn't have a problem ordering from under Nordstrom Rack, my package came in good shape, no problems. But I've never really ordered from under HauteLook before. So I didn't know how horrible they are with their customer service and didn't bother to read up on them/ read reviews, because I expected the best. The shoes and backpack both said it would take up to 1-3 days to process after the sale was over, until they split my order and the bag is already in transit and shipped off. Alllll except for the shoes that are still "processing".
I also ordered something else when day 3 of waiting came around, but I got curious and decided to look up HL's reviews anyway and was appalled at how some customers were treated. I got worried because my shoes haven't been shipped or updated at all since my purchase and decided to contact them by email Sept. 1st, just to ask if the shoes were even available. By Sept. 2nd around 5pm EST, I'm told that there was a delay and most orders are 2 days behind, that I should get my tracking number. WRONG. 5 hours later I get another email saying that I have been "refunded" and my order was canceled. I never got a refund.
So basically not only was I lied to, but I was cheated out of my money. All because they put something on their website that they didn't even have. Unbelievable. Never ordering from them ever again, and I WILL get my refund. Not 25%, not 50%. A FULL refund.

I heard about this site through YouTube gurus that I follow and decided to give it a go because they made it sound amazing. Its not. I feel like the girls on YouTube love it because every time someone clicks their affiliate link and signs up and buys something they get a $10 credit so they don't actually pay for stuff and they probably order so much stuff that they don't notice that it takes forever for something to get to them.
The first time I ordered was fine I got an american apparel skirt and Vince top. Both good brands and the order arrived within three weeks. Great! So I ordered again. The second time I ordered two necklaces, two pairs of sandals and a pair of shoes for my boyfriend. About two weeks later I received an email that they over sold the sandals and I would not be getting them since there wasn't enough stock. I was heart broken but my refund came promptly and I received a $20 credit. So I was disappointed but it was handled well so I wasnt too upset. I then received the two necklaces and was pretty disappointed with the quality. One looked really cheap and the other (a j crew bauble necklace lookalike) came with some of the baubles already fallen off, a quick fix but annoying none the less. Finally after close to six weeks after i placed the order I was informed that the shoes I ordered for for my boyfriend had also been over sold and I wouldnt be getting them. Now I was really annoyed 3/5 of the items in my order had been over sold and that just seems like poor business practice to me. I feel like selling this things that you dont actually have is fraud. And this time it took them over three weeks and a couple emails to customer service before my refund was issued. I was not impressed.
Finally I recently went on to try again after my rage subsided. I figured I have a $30 credit and maybe I could use that for some boots or something only to discover my credits had all expired. I would expect at least six months to use them if not a year or more. An empty gesture to compensate for an extremely bad business model.
Overall I just feel this site is shady. Its seems really great too bad it just doesn't live up 90% of the time. I don't want to gamble with them anymore when there are much better places to shop online. I won't be shopping there again.
