I actually love Hautelook. I mainly buy kids clothes from here, and I think it is awesome that they have a return policy, which is so important with children. You really never know how things are going to fit, especially if you're trying new brands -- as Hautelook often showcases brands you may not know about. Their shipping takes longer than other flash sales sites, but I really don't mind. And I've never waited more than 3 weeks for anything. I have never had a bad experience buying or returning merchandise.
Sometimes you can find good deals, but 75% (3 out of 4) of my orders have either arrived with missing items or one a pair of sandals that broke after being worn 5 times. I will say that their customer service has been very good every time. This most recent order was just the last straw because I can't be running to Nordstrom Rack (which is not even in my city) to return stuff all the time.
I ordered a pajama set and it fit perfect, pleased with the price as i'm not going to pay full price at Nordstrom (munki munki). Later i ordered a piece of jewelry for my sister, great price and quality (Swarovski). Both were specific items that i had not been able to find elsewhere and amazing values. When you order it provides an estimated arrival date, it wasn't quick but i wasn't in a rush for either order.

After two weeks of ordering a bunch of shirts from haute look I did t get an email or anything except the confirmation one I look at it and one of the favorite shirts said returned I call them only to find out that oh they didn't have enough to send me one! Seriously? The a few days later I get an email stating that they ran out of another item such a disappointment I was so excited especially for the two items that they ran out of oh and I was supposed to get a refund to my account for the "canceled" items still nothing yet! This is so not Nordstrom like it's ruining their reputation

The selection is tailored to the audience, mostly, but many of these deals are available elsewhere. The watch deals are particularly disappointing, not to mention a waste of my time to check them out. Those deals are readily available on Overstock... hence the title of this review.

I made a purchase on 9/7/14 and was charged the same day for items to be delivered between 9/23-9/29. When 9/29 comes around, nothing arrived. Finally one item arrived 10/3 and the 2nd item 10/14. In between, I call and email customer service. There is no response to my emails and the customer service rep guaranteed she would provide a status on 10/10. I never heard from her. On 10/16, I receive a message the 3rd item is no longer available, mean while they have had my money for 5 weeks. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM.
Tip for consumers:
Use other flash sale sites like My Habit or Gilt. The prices are the same and they don't charge you until the item ships.

I recently had a gift card for $25 and bought a YSL tie that was 70% off. The tie is great and came quickly, but the shipping that they charge makes it not as great of a deal. Probably as good of a deal as driving to a discount clothes store and buying the same tie.

I ordered a pair of shoes that I have wanted for a long time and they sent me the wrong ones! The worst part is they cannot send the correct ones because they sold out! Then I still have to return the wrong ones! I will not be back!

I had to go to a graduation party one sunday. I waited until the last minute to get a gift so I thought a gift certificate to hautelook would be good.
I purchased it. Expecting it to be emailed to me (like it said it would). The email simply never came. I called customer service. They of course were closed on Sunday.
I had to show to the party with no gift. Not a big deal but how the heck can a website mess up something up like this? It should be automated you'd think.
Pretty lame if you ask me!

I don't have isuue with shipping, but i ordered so many times and my last order they charged me US dollar instead of Canadian dollars. Also the return takes over 2 months. That's way too long. They are ok, the quaily of the products are very much as listed. I just dont like how they change their way of charging with out telling. I could return, but have to wait forever to get my money/credit back.

I have been a long time user of hautelook, and I loved it! It does take a while for items to get to you, but that didn't bother me. The last few items I have bought have turned out to be nothing short of terrible. Either the wrong item was shipped, it never got to me and they wouldn't refund, or they sent me wrong sizes. It's been a headache and they don't value their customers. For the wrong items I got, or the ones that never were delivered, a simple $10 credit would be fine with me. If they looked at my shopping history, they would know I'm a valued customer.
Alas, they didn't care, so now I shop at better discount websites such as:

The stars should go into the negative... I would rate this site a farce and a negative 5. Bad customer service. Don't believe a confirmation about when the item will arrive. The actual date was a week later than they told me. The first time I spoke to customer service they told me the item would not be shipped (because it had not even been shipped anyway) However, had to call again and they told me the item would be shipped and it was my responsibility to return it. Bad customer service.

Hate hautelook. Ordered some make up pallets once a year ago which looked like it was normal size but it came in a super mini size! It was also not very cheap but I decided to just keep it and not return it... Anyways recently I went on the website again and saw two pair of shoes that I liked. They looked amazing on the picture. I ordered it. The package came almost a month later. I took out the shoes and the quality was sooooooo terrible I was shocked! It smelled like cheap rubber, and they were supposed to be "leather". I'm so disapponted! Paid 80 for them but hautelook is only returning 60$! So I paid $20 for nothing! Hate them. Hate their unprofessional company. Will never order from them ever again. I wish I could give them a zero rating!

I love finding items from the brands I love at great prices, but I also find new designers on hautelook.com. I also appreciate the convenience of returning items at any Nordstrom Rack if I need to do so.

Not a horrible experience, but not a good one either. My delivery date was pushed back twice, which irritated me, because they did not notify me. I had to find out for myself by checking the website. Items ended up arriving a month after I ordered them.
Ok so the shipping was pushed back; life goes on. I wasn't in a rush to get the items to begin with. When they arrived, one of the shapewear pieces I ordered had one leg noticeably shorter than the other. I knew they were non-returnable when I bought them, and the price was right... but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that they would ship an irregular item. But, in the end, I guess you get what you pay for, right? And the three other items I ordered were all perfect and I am happy with them.
Like I said, it wasn't a terrible experience, but I definitely won't be using Haute Look again. I can get better deals elsewhere from places that honor their shipping schedule and won't ship me defective merchandise.

Awful scam of a site. I ordered a Louie Vuitton bag and paid a lot of money for this bag through haute look. I thought it was going to be the real deal as they advertised. I got it in the mail yesterday and it is FAKE! The leather is fake and the bag is fake! This site is a scam and they put fake labels on items and sell them!

I have ordered a lot from this website. When I do receive the order I am usually pleased. However, since December 1,2011 more than half of what I ordered was canceled by them due to product being unavailable. I have had 11 orders canceled by them. I find this ridiculous. I have wasted a lot of time shopping only to have my order canceled. It does take weeks to receive your order, if they do actually have the merchandise they are selling.

They took my order, charged my credit card immediately, said order would come 2-3 weeks. After 3 weeks I contacted them, they said would ship any day now, waited called again the next week, and the next and the next - after 6 weeks, they cancelled the order. Never notified me - never said anything! Disgusting and unprofessional!

I had been waiting for my orders for over a month. Then they cancelled my order because they selled more than they got. In this morning, 20 items were cancelled. They are from different orders in Jan. One of them is the earliest one I purchased. The staff had no rule to distribute their orders. I got some from the latter purchase. But my earlise order was not shipped at all.
I have never seen this kind of website before.

Ordered on the 30th. Waited for a shipping receipt that never came... Finally called on the 3rd. They acted confused and said I would get the shipping info the next day. Three days later I got the shipping info but they didn't even give the order to fedex until over a week after that. Long story short... ordered on 11/30 and didn't get my package until 12/12 because it sat in Hautelook's warehouse almost the entire time!

Use Amazon, Zappos, or some other company to buy shoes and apparel.

I have used this site many times but have banned usage from this point forward. Though the inventory is decent their customer service is awful & they grossly mis-represented their "white glove delivery service". I was charged an exorbitant amount for shipping and was alright with it if I was getting what I paid for. All they did was deliver the merchandise. I called up the customer service who could only give me $20 store credit & informed me the manager would call me. She (Roda- or something) never did. It's been over a week now and I am not going to shop there anymore. They have lost a great customer. I've probably spent over $2k with them. Au revoir! No loss for me. My credit card will thank me!

Hautelook is a place where they don't have any courtesy for their customers! They messed up my order three different times and each time honored a credit plus refund! Then again I had a mess up and they stated since we have given you courtesy credit before we can only offer you $10 for the inconvenience! Let me just say that the order was placed on December 29th and wasn't received until February 4th plus didn't get one of the items I ordered! This website is full of crap! No more purchases from them ever

I love this site so much! I think it is a good way to get real designer stuff at a discount. I havent had any major problems with them just some minor annoyances. They give you your tracking code at the last minute like a few days before it gets here. They also sometimes take long with the shipping but other than that the site is great.

I was a loyal customer with haute look until one of their venders promised my item by a certain date. I didn't receive the item, I called hautelook and proved their vendor made a fake shipping number so it can be in shipping que. Once the item is in the shipping que they can't refund. The vendor hasn't shipped the item, I called ups. They just created a dummy number. I expected them to protect their customer but they didn't. Don't purchase from this company. They won't protect you as a consumer from their lying vendors.

The deals are good, but the customer service sucks. I ordered some shoes in the size I always wear, but when the arrived they were way too big. I understand I can't exchange due to the nature of the way things are ordered, but I ended up losing $12 on a pair of shoes I couldn't even wear. The only credited back the price of the shoes, not including shipping. And on top of that, I had to pay return shipping. Because of this, I won't be ordering anything here again.

After not getting my order. I sat on hold for 1 hour for them to finally tell me my order wasn't coming. But they hadn't refunded my money because you pay up front not when items ship like every other company.
