Price. I am not happy with the constant ads upon logging in. As a user - I want to be send DIRECTLY to the file manager so I can actually work on my website, not thorugh 4 or 5 different folders to access it. Please make this a better experience.

Hostgator had a competitive 1st year offer. Renewal prices are not terrible but they are terrible at domain management and charge an extra fee for privacy which they do not do very well. When I paid for domain privacy, I still got emails and calls from solicitors and then when they finally fixed that it deleted from my account prematurely.

I've tried paying for my domain twice now and received confirmation but the next day I receive an imminent cancellation email...if the card doesn't confirm don't let me print off a confirmation of paid document...!

Have a ticket with no solution in over a month! I've called, emailed, chat all of it and keeps getting "bumped" but nobody is helping me. Already looking for alternative solutions because this is disgusting business practice.

My website and email went down for over a week because you thought I hadn't paid when I had months in advance. It took a week to get my website back up and 9 days to get my email working. I spent countless hours on the phone with tech-support trying to get someone to fix it, telling me after each call that it would be working in 24 hours. That lasted a week. It was frustrating and a horrible experience. I am still waiting to hear back from your billing department on how they are going to compensate me for this issue since I essentially had to pay twice and the loss of business is immeasurable.

I chose you for your service, and it has been mostly good. But I have several times experienced losing access to a paid for and operation SSL, so that visitors to the site start to get privacy error messages. And it is pissing me off.

Have been with Hostgator for many years. But since a problem arose, they have been absolutely awful, it is now over 6 weeks later, my website is down and they are doing nothing fast to fix it. Support only passes on messages, nothing gets done!

Your service is horrible. I have not been able to resolve a refund issue that has been going on for 8 months now. I am looking for an alternative hosting service. Host Gator let me account get hacked and has not corrected the error.

I had choose Hostgator for the rapid assistance and team experience but unfortunately thing has changed, Chat assistance are usually not expertise or work at random. An exmapl one of your tech was working on a problem of mine to installed prestashop on one of domain. But this idiot deleted my main website ans i don't know how, the chat was closed cause there was no one to attend my request. It always take a few interactions to my my issues resolved. The assisting team are not dedicated or willing to help. They also lack experiences, cause most of the time i had to resolved my issues by myself. As a web agency i no longer advice my client to use Host gator. It is not practical for us. we have better service elsewhere

Marti successfully helped me solve a problem that has been going on for a month with Hostgator that multiple others at your company could not solve even after escalation. I didn't choose them originally. My girlfriend did and had no clue what she was doing so I got dragged into being her admin. I ended up liking host gator. Portal pages are kind of dated and there is a lack of documentation for most things but I'm fine with that. The one thing I absolutely hate is the temporary account that is generated automatically. When we originally started with Host gator, it was not like that. The root for your service was the login username. Now My account is tied to some stupid name I will never remember. Customer service says nothing they can do. Talked to at least a dozen CS agents. Still have temp account as ROOT.

I have malware issues for over 2 week and have no control on the dashboards of my websites. I ordered a restore, and never got any answers to my emails. Furthermore, i connect the help team and was promised time after time that the restore is on the way, but no promise was kept.
I get no real answers. I get promises that are not kept. I get no real help for over a week
I was satisfied of the help team up to this month. But i'm very disappointed.

Pop email and NOT Microsoft 365 or Google as backoffice. Like most other providers are moving to Though I am considering switching hosting providers over the jump in prices for my plan since that is a 56% increase for me to keep my current features with no value add. Even though paying in advance reduces that bill overall if feels like I am being pushed into a corner. No it is not a ton of money but every dollar counts in this economy and it is only one of many things in my life that now costs more.

I have recommended to Clients the Hostgator Service and it's family of hosting services. I find them stable for the most part but had a bad experience for one of my client on the VPS plan last year that it destroyed my business with them. I still have clients on hostgator but I am now wary as elevating to higher support for that last experience made me really wary.
I also had episode this year where I cant access my hosting panel to renew my products and almost got my services expired. So thus the one-star deduction since I have been with hostgator for years and 2023 and early 2024 was a bad experience and exemption for me.
Some can immediately resolve my problems, but some that should be urgent like my dashboard issues and payment issues should be responded to quickly.
They also never helped one of my clients account issue in VPS.
I have been with hostgator with other client accounts I setup and purchase for them for years.

I regret choosing HostGator. For two days I am not able to do anything on my dashboard because I'm getting an error message "something went wrong, please try again later". It has been two days now, I chatted numerous times with customer care representatives, I spoke numerous times on the phone, they opened a case two days ago, I received emails telling me the case has been accelerated and the engineering team is working to fix the problem, and so far after two days nothing has been done. I'm seriously considering to transfer to another hosting company.

(This is not what we pay for) situations that could be resolved in 5 minutes take hours... and then we can't We don't even know how to express our disappointment... where can we file a complaint? Our websites and DNS records vanished. It created significant interruptions for our business and clients. I am waiting for Hostgator to explain how the files were deleted. Thankfully the team did get the assets back but the time from the initial call and misdiagnosis from Hostgator to the files being completely restored spanned two full business days.

Website stops all the time, Can pay anymore without a contract with paypal, I don't want a contract, why am I forced to use it?. I see 4 accounts number in payment method. But does not define what those are. The whole new website and functionality is so much worse and harder to navigate than before. Bad user experience.
