Dexter Y. Was able to sift through all of the unprofessional activity I experienced from representatives and a supervisor 03/13/2024. Not logging my call information, Support did not forward the case number they sent to me to the customer service dashboard or I was told it did not exist. Both agents + the supervisor tried to up-sale me to a product I did not need in the VPN. But Dexter Y. Got on the phone, listened to my problem, calmed my nerves and proceeded to fix the problem I was ready to pursue with an Attorney for support. That deserves 5 stars - I have been paying fo this account for 21 years and it's the first time I felt truly upset with the service. THANK YOU DEXTER!

I was having issues with the registration and pointing of my new private name servers, because the registrar of my website was clueless. The tech support at Hostgator took the time to communicate via chat with the registrar until the issue was resolved. Thank you so much.

You and your team are absolutely incapable of fixing my DNS issue preventing me from publishing my site. You gladly take my money, and offer no real assistance to fix the issue. I will absolutely never use your services, nor will my company, nor will anyone in my network.

I've had this hosting service for months, and every time I come to do something I hit a brick wall. This time it is setting up an Outlook mailbox. I have copied and pasted everything from the instructions I was provided, but I keep getting a server error--both on the Outlook app and in my Cpanel. I've never had so much trouble setting up a website and accompanying emails as I have with HostGator.

I have to say that I am thrilled to be working with HostGator. Mark, my representative today, was friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. Mark patiently attended a three-way call with GoDaddy to migrate my website to a HostGator account. The features. However, I am unsure that I am getting all the features I 'thought'. Still evaluating. Also, I had problems last night attempting to publish the site without any descriptive, actionable error message. Is simply said there was a problem, call support, which is useless.

HostGator is a prime of example of what happens when a business tries to cut as many corners as possible with their web hosting. Since its inception, it seems it has been a standard procedure to store client passwords in plain text which is certainly not a great security practice (and was even known as a bad security practice in the early 2000s). They are often overselling their platform and thus are putting their clients in a bad position where there are not enough resources to serve all of their customers.
Their support is notoriously slow and agents often misunderstand what the client is asking, requiring multiple people to get involved when the issue is resolved by a single agent on competing services.
Would not recommend them at all even if you're in need of a cheap option.

Your products are good and are of quality. However, your support team, particularly your live chat support team doesn't really put their tasks/job at heart. They are just like robots commanded to run specific tasks and they cant adjust themselves depending on the situation... It's not all of them, around 10-20% of the time, they do help me really, but the rest of the time, they dont.

Not all the information of the contracted service is shown, just as the previous version showed, for example, the name of the server to be able to identify the services and be able to access them in a more agile and direct way, information on the domain associated with the service is not shown, etc.

Extremely problematic to refund payment on CC, 4 days after signing up without any prior explanation or warning - only to find out that the service was canceled. No notice on the email, I had to enter the support chat to get any information.

I started with HostGator three weeks ago. Their support to migrate my website was fine. Before I had my site hosted with Westhost for 10 years. I left them because of terrible support - and I am glad to have a new helpful provider.

Nearly no one at tech support knows what is going on with anything at all. The one consistent answer is, I don't know what went wrong but it will take 7 business days before it will be fixed. This went on for well over a month. 6 weeks and then I finally had enough. Nearly every tech support person didn't know what was going on, they couldn't fix it, I was often hung up on when they realized it wasn't going well, and those who stayed until we finished the call pleaded for a great review. Ugh.
It had good reviews online. I took the risk that they would be better than GoDaddy. We'll see.

I canceled service 2016, tried to call customer service, sent screen shot realized I was being charged for 5 years, in order to retain customer service told it would be escalated hindering me from wanting to make a website on hostgator and pay for domain service.

I used HG in the past and returned now after a few years away. It is now a complicated process to do what I need to do on a daily basis. Seems I am unable to log directly into cPanel but instead have to go through the account pages. I will continue for now as I have paid for a year but will probably look for a different provider again in future.

Good day, to the hostgator team.
Before it was a better system to make a payment.
To pay, it is confusing.
I had a good system now it is bad. Instead of keeping what they had before, they decided to change to this new system, and it is confusing to pay.
When paypal redirected to the hostgator account in the old system, immediately the hostgator page appeared, indicating that the payment has been processed successfully "Thank you for your payment".
Experience bad.

Drake fixed it all! It was an awesome experience and I cannot say enough about the guy I talked to. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, easy to understand and incredibly helpful. This is already a much better experience than GoDaddy.
I was blown away. Drake was the best tech I have ever spoken with, and I have spoken with dozens over dozens of websites. Never anything like this. I will only use Hostgator from now on.
To host my site, I was reccommended. I was told it was inexpensive and good for what I am doing. It has exceeded my expectations with one phone call. Thank you and a special thanks to Drake

I hate your company with every bone in my body. No proper invoices in my email. I don't even get work emails and stringarming people into paying for site lock is such a dirty scam. I hate hate hate these products.

My experience with HostGator has been great. I don't know the last service that has been so hands-off. Service has been so smooth it is hard to imagine. If I have had to contact Customer Support, it was handled professionally and completely.
First of all I absolutely hate chat, although it's ok sometimes. It is hard for me to fully communicate accurately using chat. But they are one of the last companies that still has a phone number and a real person on the other end. Thank you for that.
I was so disgusted with my previous service, saw an advertisement and thought I'd give them a try and I have been there since.
Reputation I guess. I've seen the advertisements, heard first hand from friends that had their service and gave it a shot.

More reliable than the last, but Siteground is making me want to switch. If the next time I need to make a client's website more robust and Hostgator tell me I need a VPS account when Siteground is so willing to modify a basic account. So 4 stars and not 5 stars for that reason.

I loved Hostgator until they change the interface after log-in. It appears they attempted to "fix" something that wasn't broken and added unnecessary screens/procedures to get to the section you are seeking.
