Customer service is great, except when it comes to billing. I had an issue where I explicitly said I wanted to cancel a service but forgot to turn off auto bill. Now, that is on me, but billing wasn't helpful in getting the account canceled and refunded. Now I have to carry and pay for two accounts (one I do not use). THis was enough annoyance to make me reconsider a new hosting site in the future.

I looked for an economical way to get started with a webpage that allows people to see services that I offer including:
1.3D Printing
2.3D Modeling
3. Writing Services - both technical and fiction
4. And Engineering Services
5. Also I may use this as a place to showcase new inventions - pending details on IP Protection.
Hostgator seemed like a good fit for all this

I planned to move some of my hosting to HostGator from GoDaddy. I had some problems while setting up my account and contacted support. I had a poor experience. I've been a GoDaddy customer for 19 years. I was attempting to save some money by moving some of my sites to HostGator as the prices seemed very good. My experience was very bad. I had issues understanding the tech support personnel and it made the experience unacceptable. I would like to end my Hostgator relationship and get a refund. I think this might be a challenge.

Five Stars, but I am here wondering why one script of many, all of of which use the exact same info to log in, all of the sudden denies access to the user, the same user that it is allowing access for in a couple of other scripts that are not failing, at the same time (within seconds or less)

After over 13 phone calls from 6:30am EST to 1pm EST I finally got someone on the phone that knew what reverse PTR was and how to handle it. I will tell you your level 1 support is horrible and they need to be better trained. I am still having issues with ticket number *******. It's been 3 weeks and level 2 support is absolutely horrible. Still have not fixed the issue and it needs to be resolved.

Technology moves quickly and I have found that the site cannot be stagnant as in the past... it needs constant updates and monitoring and it takes someone to make sure malware does not infect the plugins. Hostgator has fine customer service, but nothing beats paying someone to handle the site for when things go south

Price used to be reasonable but how has gone up. Many of the options I need to find are buried in the site. It is a chore to even log in. Sometimes I log in and get right on and other times nothing happens. I check and recheck log in info and nothing happens. I get frustrated, leave and try again another time.

A few weeks ago, I spent hours making changes to my website and publishing the changes. Somehow, the site reverted to an older version and some of the changes were lost - specifically the SSL code was lost. So frustrating!

I have used HostGator for years with close to 100% satisfaction. I was price gouged by about 500% on my renewal this year, and will take action over the next year to make sure I never have to use HostGator again.

I had domain paid and hosting paid, however, my website was down for 2-3 weeks. I felt the service was incompetent and i was forced to move out to a different vendor. Several week down time is unacceptable.

The representative left me on the phone for approximately 15 to 20 minutes while with his children in the background. He finally returned to tell me I needed to contact Eliminator Pro by email to resolve my issue! I am so frustrated with HostGator I want to eliminate the service, but I am working with different avenues in HostGator to fix the problem with my website. If you are working remotely, you should have a quite space to work with clients and you should not leave customers on the phone for extended periods of time to play with your children in the background!

Your customer service reps are NOT knowledgeable and each one provided conflicting information. Your support articles are outdated according to your reps, yet you still have them on your website and some reps still give them to customers as an answer for support

I thought this may be more customer friendely than GoDaddy however since on the platform I have been hacked through the cpanel as Hostgator did not update to Php 8. This has caused conflict with my website and I have endured inconsistent access to the email. I removed my website last year from this platform and ebbing out and am planning to leave. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because I can usually talk with someone at Hostgator if needed

We have two domains through hostgator and I can never access the second one via cpanel email - it will always go to the first account which should be 100% separate from the second but when I click email panel it doesn't go to the correct one

I have tried by phone and by chat to get help and it is like going into an abyss. The foreign people running the phones and the chat do not understand what I am asking or what my needs are. I am beyond frustrated. Where can I talk to someone in the US who understands what I need from them? I am open minded but when I have to repeat more than 3 times what I want and them wait multiple minutes while they type in my question and answer me back with basically the same info I just gave them it is NOT help or SUPPORT. I am incredibly dissatisfied with the change over from web builder as you are not giving us who are just a little less astute on website building to migrate to another platform. Because you are forcing this, I have to re-d0 my entire website? I have over 100 products and I have not had any business for a while via my website. You are not user friendly and forcing small businesses's hands to do something that takes away from our creating products and selling them. I have been following the directions and now the import is saying there's no WXL. Whatever!

A long time ago because of pricing and features. But two of my websites have crashed because of changes underneath. One was revived, but the other one wasn't. And Level 2 support never got back to me TWICE. So I had to move the site to another host, who helped me beautiful and we got the site up in a few minutes.
