At first, I met some difficulties, not being a technician, I had to figure out why Hostgator wasn't optimal for my websites. It seems that some updates of Wordpress and plugins fixed everything and now I have no complaint to formulate.
Like a lot of customer service, if your problem is not standard, it is not easy to find help. In fact, I fixed most of my problems by myself after deep research on forums and some hazardous tries. I got a better results like that than with the customer service.
It was recommended for WordPress sites of small and medium-size, and the price is good.

Since you made the updated Portal interface. It sucks. $#*! this! A $#*!ing ad every time I sign on. And the cPanel Email directs to the wrong email account. I have to go to the "manage" button first, then to cPanel Email... Why the $#*! did you change? I hope God still loves you... but, I seriously doubt it.

I feel as though I was sold one thing and it is not what I was sold. I have definitely been dealt a bait and switch and have basically been scammed out of hundreds of dollars. I plan to address it when I have time, but other things are more important at this time, but I am very unhappy with this Host Gator Business plan I was sold. Just s one example, I purchased an "Unlimited site" plan with plesk. Well they are now using some other management software and it is not letting me add any more sites telling me I am at my limit. How is that unlimited. Good thing I have screenshots of what I bought because at quick glance they made the unlimited plan go poof. That is what I purchased through and well I am now limited to the 8 small sites I have in the system. Glad I set most of my sites up within the first week. Will be in contact with their support and will update this review to see if they actually do what they are supposed to,.

My site is live, which is important, and when I have needed customer service, I have been able to receive functional support through HostGator chat. Support has not been able to resolve my issue in the way that I would've preferred.

It was supposed to be simple and easy to use to create a website/web-portfolio.
I cannot even edit the starter post, despite trying.
I cannot upload an image, despite trying.
The post will not UPDATE.
Never used WordPress before and did not want to pay their prices, instead selecting HostGator, just to find out that I still had to create a WordPress account plus another account for Gravator in order to upload a profile photo.
I cannot discern how to change the public view of my page... and its embarrassing.
Further - please, for the sake of new users, please remember that whenever an acronym is used, like SEO, it is incredibly important that you actually spell out what that acronym stands for - somewhere on the page, ideally at the first usage of the acronym.
This was not very navigable for someone who has never built a website before and lacks coding and technical knowledge.

I used to be able to look at all my previous "orders" and transactions, when my hosting renewed and print off those invoices. Now I can apparently only see the last two invoices? I also used to be able to do this on both my mobile device and my desktop, and now it only works on my desktop. This is very disappointing all around as I need to print those invoices from the previous year and I usually do it all at once. If I had known I wouldn't be able to do it this year, I would have done it sooner.

Totally Nightmare. The real face of hostgator hiding behind false internet adversting
We have the Business Plan and the problems started immediately after activating our account. First there was problem with their SSL and then cdn. The built in CDN wasn't working and they were informed so many times about that. Site was constantly going down even on few hundred traffic. We suffered greatly from slow loading pages. Everytime their useless support reverted back to us their response was robotic. That it is new feature and they are slowly rolling that out to other business plans. Why would you offer that in your terms? We lost a great deal of marketing budget bcs of lack of performance of our website caused by hostgator. When I asked for the refund since they were unable to produce a solution they refused!
This is their level of service for a premium plan just imagine what they would be doing with small customers who are buying cheaper plans!
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR SERIOUS BUSINESSES!

I have had it for years and love it; however, one of my contractors set up getpono.com on GoDaddy and I transferred it back to HostGator, but it still says pending and i have clicked the send email button a few times and have not received an email. I cannot seem to get to cpanel for getpono.com.

It is one of the worst hosting providers, me and my friends have the same issue. They infect sites with malware and try to sell other security services. Each and every single time I clean codes and they again inject malware codes to infect my sites. The same happened to my other friends. They do not even try to help you and pretend to be so smart to sell sitelock feature.

It was good before the new update, since then our website has been attack by malware and we have been with hostgator for 3 years now since then the customer support and the protection of our website has gone really bad!

Host Gator has no clue how to handle a server updgrade. Our VPS server was down for 33hrs while the tech support kept saying 5-30min. They had no insight or updates, just "we're performing a migration to upgrade". After 33hrs of downtime the server was back up for about 24hrs and now it's down again. Tech support said the migration will be over "today". So, that's another day of missed revenue and angry clients. 4 days to perform a migration is just awful. Once the server is back up I'm getting a refund and moving my sites elsewhere.

They all never read what I was asking as they never responded exactly to my request about an SSH account that was created in cPanel (not WHM). It was a huge waste of time, and was very frustrating. I never got a straight answer. Then, the issue was mysteriously closed befor I could answer and re-ask an 8th time. This is not the first time with this sort of experience either. Generally I cringe and have to gird myself to contact HG support.

I was locked out of my website yesterday and I do not know why. I was asked to change my my password and entered the same one I had before and Host Gator accepted it. I find this strange. When I create store procedures with my assigned user, an any moment the definer change to *******@localhost (automatic) and then create my store procedures again. And I don't understand why?
When I had problems, the support assisted and most of the time they solve the problem. I am grateful for wordpress support. But when I had issues with the database, they not solve and I re-create my structure again. (Store Procedures), and that wasted my time for me and yours.
Because I do not had any problems with the service, but now I have had problems with the user of the database.

You don't provide your own servers and didn't say this while I tried to get the gateway issues resolved. Instead you advised me to keep retrying to send my emails and those that bounce back just keep trying until it goes. You said you couldn't fix the issue and said this was the solution. That's unacceptable.

Disappointing - My website was hacked 2 weeks ago and you recommended Sitelock to unlock it so I upgraded for 3 years and still after 2 weeks I still do not have a website and my subdomains which hold portals for online courses are still locked. Before i was using WHM Reseller Hosting. There was an option to create a 'Ticket' to ask a question. I moved to HostGator yesterday. I asked them to 'migrate my old domain to new host' and now there is no sign of i ever did so. No ticket, no record.

I am still having issues with sent emails, through Google) ending up in the recipients Spam folder. I found on the Google site what I thought might help resolve it and the Host Gator support tech helped me make the changes suggested but I (and my employees) are still having the issue. There is still some "finger pointing" going on between Google and HostGator.
Tech support person was helpful in implementing what was described to me as a "fix" for my issue. Still not resolved and not sure where to turn.
