I have had my account two months. My hosted account is socrc.org, and the plan includes SSL certificate. Pursuant to my dashboard's accepted links include https://www.socrc.org, and www.socrc.org. The first link takes on to a page warning about a security risk, the second takes them to an unrelated site. I've contacted technical support chat THREE times. The first time support said the SSL needed updating. It failed. The second tech support told me it was a problem how the DNS was directed, and would take several days. It also failed. The third claimed the SSL had to be reinstalled. It also failed. What is obvious is that tech support does not have the education/experience with hosting to understand how to fix these things. My website is still having problems with the URLs, and I don't know what to do other than request a refund and migrate back to GoDaddy!

My website which you've hosted for 3+ years is not appearing. I have this error message: Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress. I can't figure out how to get help from your troubleshooting team.

I purchased the plan for 3 years and they didn't renew it and they didn't tell me that it was discontinued, I've been waiting for a response for more than 72 hours ( HostGator Customer Support [E-*******])

I chose HostGator because I couldn't say no to the promo they were offering. I wish that after the promo ends they can give me another promo 😉 I haven't had the need to call them yet. I can pretty much do anything online with them.

Good experience on Hostgater. Just wish that the login was faster. Used to be able to click straight to cPanel - now got to go through other screens first. Also, it's a cumbersome task in phpAdmin to "Show All" in my lists - have to first go to settings and allow and only then can I choose "Show All". Also, it keeps resetting which is a bit aggravating - going through the same process every day...

I have an issue where if I upload a file it saves with a 0664 permission. It should be saving as an 0644 permission. I'm being told it's my issue because the admin can upload with an 0644 permission. I have not been able to find anything on my end and I will try reaching out for help again. But it's frustrating when I'm just being told that it's on my end. The only thing that has changed on my end is that I moved to a new server and ever since being on the new server I have this issue.

I was transferring several websites from another server but my Innodes are too large for your requirements so I cannot use your service. I tried everything I could to lower it, but I could not. I tried to get a refund but was a week past the 45 days. Very disappointed in your company forcing me to stay in a contract and service I Won't and Can't use.

Horrible customer services and customer portal system! No way to contact or had chat for whole month, still my issue hasn't been resolved! It's so frustrating!
You can't speak to anyone if you are not in US! You haven't updated my portal for whole month and removed my domain for whole month. And you still haven't reinstated my domain yet after my whole month of webchat contact!

They used to be good but now are horrible. They set me up on hosting that was incompatible with WordPress. Then they charged me for different hosting that they said would work better. So I cancelled the first hosting and built my website. A month later when the first website dropped-off my account my newly built website disappeared. They told me it was a nameserver issue, so I changed the nameservers. When the site did not reappear they offered to restore from backup for a $50 fee. When they restored from backup, no website!
I am now looking at re-building my client's website again from the start. I will never do business with these idiots again!

They recently migrated to a new look and new system, their costumer support used to be good, both my websites went down during their migration and they kept telling me they where going to fix it but they wouldn't, they ended up charging me a $50 fee to recover my website. Not happy with them anymore.

I have lost clients because of issues with your servers getting blocked for spam, I've had problems with your new billing software, I requested and was told I would get all of my old billing statements and have not yet received them, and many many other issues.

Very unhappy, cannot log into my account by filezilla. Looked at your video and it seems that you changed interface of control panel, I cannot see site IP, only current user. Finally I found site IP after 40 minutes, now I cannot log because of password/username. I cannot find password, it is not shown in introductory e-mail. It seems it is not same as my password I use in sign in page at hostgator.com. Through that page I can go into c-panel, but when I sign out of c-panel and try to log in directyl into it, I cannot, different password and username, and I have read that that password is needed for filezilla. You have created real mess, process which should take 5 minutes (already have experience with filezilla) will take hours and will have to contact live support. Also very unhappy about billing menu, could not find cancel button, I just checked, so after one year it will be chore to cancel automatic renewal and avoid 200% price hike. I think I will just request my money back.

It is not easy to find what I usually do in the new interface.
In the olde sit the Chat popup keeps opening without any click and even thoug I click in the chat once again to close it, it never closes up.

Especially because I am technologically challenged, whenever I get an error message instead of entry to my website, I am distressed! Today I did look for an answer online and tried to resolve the error issue on my own. That did not work! So, I entered the HostGator Support Chatroom... And I am forever grateful for the patient, courteous, knowledgeable encounter with Mahesh in HostGator Customer Service. Now my problem is history and my website up and running!

I am a very old customer I wasn't a very successful reseller. As a matter of fact my business is a small nonprofit providing web services to my community. Recent years I received very restricted services from Hostgator and in 2023 my domain and website the Artpars.net was expired and out of service because of negligence of the system because the renewal of the domain failed without notice. Even after purchasing the expired domain it took months to connect the website.

3/5 Stars because of weird server issues. Server down 09.10.2022 / my Domain was inaccessible?
I was recommended to upgrade my plan because of "lack of space" for uploading media.
In truth, it was a server issue (I had used only ~230mb out of the +900mb that is available). So it was quite infuriating that the recommendation was to upgrade instead of attempting to solve the problem^^ it seemed like it is pushed to get more expensive plans...
Otherwise, helpful support team until now. The abovementioned issue was solved.

It was a good deal and the costumer support was responsive but that is no longer that case. The costumer support is lacking and not always friendly and on several occasions I have been routed to bluehost after waiting oh hold for 30 mins only to be told that they handle host gator overflow but can not help with host gator issues.

I am IT-technical, but had not set up a website in years. That made the initial setup harder than I expected as there are many menus, options and settings to understand in PageLayer as well as in the initial hosting. Use the help line. They were very responsive and knowledgeable and helped me with a few things (e.g. Google registration) that I couldn't figure out hunting the menus. I am extremely pleased with the look and function of my final website which I based on a "photographer" template. I notice the website loads a few seconds slower than optimized sites like amazon, but that doesn't matter for my purposes. Know that you're signing up for a long period to get the promotional price so the initial outlay will be a multiple of the monthly fee. I know I will want my site for a while, so that wasn't an issue. There were many upsell "opportunities" presented, but none were required, they were well-explained, and the prompts were not too intrusive.
