Hosting is fine but I had an issue with not being able to access my emails because an old Magic Mail Monitor file was opened several times on a computer and it took me more than two weeks to resolve it and the higher level attention I needed took three days to answer and then they never got to answer my reply as two days later I was able to nail the problem and resolve it. Not bad first level customer care, very slow second level customer care.

It is an amazing experience I am continue getting with Histgator so far. I were a godaddy customer before landing here. Best part of Hostgator is that everything is so clear and concise. I had Mayur help me out today regarding domain redirection, SSL, and SiteLock issues. I found some information along the way which I should have read the fine print regarding after one year of the free upgrade Postive SSL and SiteLock that I needed to pay for renewal. However, this experience is about the interaction between myself and Mayur. Mayur was very informative about the redirection as I did not think it was possible to have the domain.com redirect to domain.ca as the latter domain is from another webhost company due to Hostgator not being allowed to offer domain.ca domains. I am content that I am able to place the free SSL certificate on domain.ca and have the domain.com (purchased through Hostgator) redirected to it. Thanks to Mayur for your assistance! It is greatly appreciated!

Very slow hosting, does not support memcache, memcached, opcache or other performance enhancements that are considered basic options for shared hosting at A2 and other cheaper hosting providers.

I bought domain + hosting for personal use and also for business from hostgator. After than I am receiving multiple calls everyday and huge emails to ask if I am interested for website from India. Hostgator will sale your personal/business information and you will be spammed. BE CAREFUL

Update:
We reached out to Anjan repeatedly by phone and email and have received no response to our attempts at resolution. As a courtesy we gave the customer a credit in the amount that it would cost them to purchase domain privacy so that they can stop being spammed by people who are accessing their contact info via a simple "whois lookup". We hope that Anjan will respond to one of our emails or will go into their dashboard and purchase the domain privacy. Thanks.

I LOVE HostGator as a whole. BUT the idea of paying people to do a job like "customer service in a chat" is a horrible idea. Especially when you do it with foreign agents with no supervision. I know you do not supervise them because I get constantly ignored for several minutes at a time. You have TWO options. Either train them better or supervise them more with extensive quality control. There must be a way to measure how long it takes for them to answer and create a minimum and maximum amount of time they can take to finish any particular task. WITHOUT FAIL, "They" (the customer service reps on chat) will put me on hold for unreasonable amounts of time. I am tired of this kind of treatment, so I have stopped using the CHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. It BADLY NEEDS ATTENTION.

It's sooooo user UN-friendly on your site. Eek! It takes me 10 minutes just to re-find my site to try to make updates to it. You need to get some people who work on MAC's to make your site manageable. I hate coming here.

I have found HostGator to be an affordable alternative to GoDaddy. I appreciate that I don't have to have a Microsoft Outlook account. I feel my info is more secure and I can choose how I develop my site.
