I have a lot of problems with hostgator. So much so I'm actually thinking about switching to somebody else. Your customer service is terrible, your people are poorly trained, I supposedly have an SSL certificate that you guys loaded onto my page but people are constantly having problems saying there's no SSL certificate. You guys need to do better
Poorly trained employees that cannot speak good english. Bring service back to the United States
Because you were a bit cheaper 20 something years ago then other people. Now you're ridiculously high priced

The services offered are great and competitive. They set up process is fairly quick and easy, even for someone like me who is not an expert. Unfortunately, the customer service experience (for me at least) has not been the best. I have had to call on issues only to get wrong and unclear information.
Not all representatives are experts. I have received wrong and inconsistent information I have been hung up on and I can never speak to a real live supervisor.

In the past I've had a lot of issues with not getting emails from Hostgator when my payment doesn't go through, with the automatic payment not going through, and not being notified. But i think that issue has finally, after several years of problems, been resolved.

Ever since my provider became HostGator about 20 years ago I've always had a good relationship except when I was losing webpages and that may have been my fault. But every time I've called I've got a real person who has helped me get my website back on track.
Your representatives are helpful and help me work out the problems quickly.
For my personal website, I chose a local provider who was an inexpensive. When that company became HostGator, call says remain reasonable although it has escalated a bit with having to buy back up security over the years.

I had several phone conversations with different support representatives to correct the site problem. The
Problem was they did not review prior conversations and emails regarding the problem and some made snap decisions which did not resolve the problem.
It finally took a CSR who took the time to review all the correspondence and resolve the problem

The Gator has got it going. Awesome pricing and quality service! I don't have much experience with their customer service in all of the years I have been using them. It's been a while since I last had to contact support. To me however that is a good thing. For me, the less times I have to call customer service for any product and not just web hosting services, is just a confirmation that I have a great product! Kudos HostGator!

I'm away from home and was at a Starbucks when I noticed my website was offline. I went to live chat and waited for a good 30 minutes before ever connecting with a rep. By the time I did connect, it was closing time at the restaurant and I had to leave before finishing my questions. Yes, the rep did get the site back online from the 500 internal error but all my 301 redirects were wiped off the server for some reason and I never found out why?
I hosted 100's of websites between 1998 and 2014 and used Hostgator often due to mainly, your customer support.

The platform has been reasonably easy to use. I have had issues with integration of WordPress features that I would like to use for my 3rd party booking system, but it seems that the newest version of HostGator may be working those features in. Support has been timely and the other features and ease of use has been good. Have stayed with HostGator for 6 years. I don't intend to transition to any other platform.

At first it was very difficult to have my issues addressed. My site was lost and I initially told it could be restored. But after two more calls to customer service, it was finally explained that because it was not backed up, I had lost my original site. But I was able to still have my domain name and have since rebuilt my website.

Everything is good. My mechanic decided to have his website moved over to someone else to help him maintain it, so the domain was removed from HostGator and sent somewhere else. But overall, my personal experience with HostGator has been good.
Again, I had to help my mechanic, migrate his domain over to another host company. Someone else is picking that up for him. Everything was fine.
