HostGator seemed a good choice to switch from WP.com to WP.org. I already own a domain name and the transition was supposed to go smoothly.
Update: After a conversation with another technician, my problem was resolved. The followup has been very good.

I think HostGator doesn't have the right be emailing anyone on my emails I created here. All emalis from hostgator about domain payments should come to me since I am the owner. The pop up message as I log in since the new update is so annoying please remove it.

The regular price was similar to my current provider and included SSL (what i feel is essential to running a website). While they often brag about their customer service, it has not been my experience that their customer service is anything special, while I have been impressed with the care i have received so far.

It's been over a month. I've been on the phone for over 15 hours now! And I've called over 12 times! Still no update!. And still no help with my transfer in. It seems like the overseas support has gone down because they don't help at all!

I always get great customer service when I call. The reason I am giving a 3 star rating is because I shouldn't have to call every three months to get someone to renew my certificates so that my website works--this should happen automatically. This is an issue that needs to be fixed.

CS does not understand the problems at hand, you get to explain yourself 5 times and even that might not be enough, one person says the other thing and other person says something different, and both of them are wrong and not knowing what the other one has said... You should really read your FB wall and take from that..

I chose hostgator for its simplicity and already integrated website builders, now they are not available. I bought the business suite so i could have a store, ever since the upgrade i can no longer use the integrated website builder and i have to pay more to have the store that i already paid for.

I started using HostGator a few days ago. It has been well recommended but although the support team has been really nice, sometimes when I ask for help, I end up with a link for me to investigate and try to understand how to solve my question. For example, I was interested in knowing how to check my emails from my cell phone, and they sent me some links on how to do it, and I started, but I don't know if the info isn't updated or it's just that is something new for me and I just couldn't do it.
I've had a similar question with other platforms, where they provide help, especially when it's someone who is new to the subject, and they either send step-by-step tutorials or stay to help you along the way, checking that your problem is solved. The rest of the experience has been great.

My issue putting a paid SSL on my client's domain has been terrible and still not fixed. Between your chat support and your tech team, there is no communication. This has been the most terrible experience and I think issue has been caused by your migration last December.

I did not appreciate the email which included: "If you do not agree, you can choose to discontinue using the products and services, and close your cPanel account." If I thought HostGator would make changes and only give me the option of "accept it" or "close it", I surely would have taken my business elsewhere. Now is not the time for me to make changes. As to the link offered for a summary of the changes --- it made little sense as far an explanation for what you are doing.

So I've had hostgator for about 2 years and had no problems but then my business name changed and I've had all these problems and nothing working. Ive needed help every day since and no one fixes the problem. The answers I get are it will take 2-4 hrs and the site will work and its been over a week and still the same problem.

For the third day in a row, I am unable to access my email cpanel. I have "chatted" with your tech support repeatedly, tried different browsers, two different computers, all without success. I hate what you have done to the site. I used to be able to access the stuff I needed and not I cannot. So I get to spend some time today looking for a new hosting company.

New UI and design is poor. Finding billing, getting to email addresses, etc. is all over the place. It's targeted at adding services, not managing existing. Old UI would give an option to be directed to CPanel right off the bat. Also when I attempted to enable MFA it repeatedly gave me incorrect codes that never worked and kept locking out the account. Had to remove it via the security questions just to able to get into my account. Would like to enable that but can't risk getting locked out of all of my domains again. Now it's forcing MFA confirmation every time I login to a single email account which is unsecure. Also lists a domain I do not own nor have ever owned as the primary account.

Yes my sites is live, I just didn't get my salary to pay it due date and I've asked the live support before 1 day due date about grace time to let me allow pay and keep my work online. And he told me that I've 10 days to pay within as a grace time.

Still have not received the refund for the Site Lock you all cancelled with them that I am paying for. Still have the prior issue on my site. The recent changes to your website and phone customer service are pretty bad. I used to be able to call 24/7 for assistiance and always had great help from your reps. One of the main reasons I chose Host Gator in the first place. Now everytime I log into my account on the website I see some offer that is trying to get more money from me that I have to decline and click through before I can access my site info. I need to maintain my websites not be bombarded with offers from you like that. And charging me for services prior to the renewal date is also awful. What happened. I used to love hostgator. Also I recently had to pay for site privacy when I already had paid for site privacy and that matter was never resolved. But I had to pay for it again to get my personal information off the internet and didn't have a good experience the last time I called for support so I just paid it again to resolve the issue. Pretty disappointed.

When I first started with hostgator, the ability to add "A" records and it almost immediately allowed the user to connect to the device using the hostname on the web was incredible, something happened, it has gotten slower but faster than most.

Poor customer service. I was told that it would take 2-5 business days for my account to be set up and running, instead it was a month, and I had to make over 20 calls, and send over 10 emails! It cost me a whole month of business traffic, I had no access to my email or website!

Server up time was great but I am not happy with their security side, they don't apply security patches to shared cpanel servers that makes your website vulnerable to cyber attacks, they keep increasing prices and trying to up sell their products, technical support was unacceptable, I prefer iweb4 hosting
