I am customer for HostGator more than 8 years, but i am not happy from the support, i have a lot of problems not resolved until now such as i have emails, and i can't receive all my emails from customers, they call me daily they sent emails, but i did not received

The new interface that they have implemented is too confusing, I can't find some vps on my account, I can't find several features that I could get with the previous interface and I have to turn to you to get those features. I have even made a mistake in paying for a vps that I no longer used (you can find evidence in the chats I have had with the advisors). Please return to the previous interface, several of my colleagues have the same opinion, all to improve your service since previously your interface was very practical.

I wrongly assumed that choosing one of the big names in web hosting would offer me peace of mind. It did not.
Every month, I had to get in touch with customer support because our website was down and the issue was resolved for the most part but only for a day or two only.
Our website is very simple, it has no log-in, no comment boxes and no payments can be made through it either. It is text-based, read-only for the most part and I was "pushed" (out of ignorance and fear) into purchasing a Sitelock and codeguard subscription.
Very disappointed with this service.

I dont know why its so hard to migrate my site. Even i have correct login credentials support says are wrong. But i tried to 3 computers and i can login normaly. There is some issues. Also i never received a small refund. Just first impression is doubtfull. Though i hope everything goes well.

They were top-rated, but their service and policy has been a major letdown. I ordered a server that came with the wrong hard drive and was told I couldn't cancel it and order the right one for a refund. I'm stuck with a server I can't use.

I wanted to choose a shorter domain contract and I cannot do it without chat or a phone call. I went I chat twice but the time it was taking to get a new contract time was excessive. I could not wait and asked the person who I chatted with to email me with the new price for one year and he/she did not email me with the details. So I am just renewing for three years. Your chats take too long. Guess I should have just called.

The steps needed to get from logging in to the part of the website I want to access is just more than needed. After passing on any advertisement that is in my face the first time I log in, it should be avoided the next thirty times I log in. I should be able to log in and immediately be on my home page without being slapped in the face with an advertisement or pushing of products every single time.

Sites were not receiving the SSL certs upon creation. The newest add account to my reseller account couldn't be accessed properly due to no cert. Tech Support Rep. Was respectful, helpful, and quick in resolving the issue. Have always had good experiences with Host Gator customer service and tech support.

All the Host Gator associates were very courteous on the phone & tried very hard to help me. Much of the problem was with me: I do not speak "computer-ese" so had no idea what they were talking about. In addition, many of the associates have accents which were hard for me to understand. (I mean no disrespect to them. I honor them for speaking more than one language. The difficulty is entirely with me who doesn't know what the terms mean.)
They were all very courteous & tried to help; but it took several weeks of phone calls to get things accomplished.
My former web guy retired & informed me I needed to find a new host. I needed to move my website & get ownership of it--things I was clueless about.
It seemed like Host Gator was user-friendly to people like me who know very little about website building & hosting. Even though I watched several Host Gator youtube instructional videos & thought I could do it, it turns out I am not able to do so.

The overhaul of the billing portal is a huge failure for me as a paying client. Nothing was working for a lot time and i was unable to pay for my subscription. To add to this, you keep showing this messages to add stuff to my account. How many times do i need to click on "No thanks" for you to stop showing them? Each time i login i become more frustrated with and start considering to move my accounts elsewhere

Extremely slow server! I've had to call tech support to see why my site which is very basic, so slow. I am a web developer and designer and I know how to optimize my site and images and I can tell you that it was NOT my website that was making the site run slow. Eventually the tech made some changes and cleared the cache and finally the website was back to normal. Sadly, this was not the first time either. So yes, if I am paying for a service, I expect it to to work correctly 100% of the time.
They tried to blame the slow speed of my website on my web developer (which happens to be me) and or the actual content which was completely BS, so I am well aware of the actual issue with YOUR SERVER!! This is not my 1st website and I have several clients using Hostgator with much bigger website so I know it was definitely not an issue on my side!!
Eventually they found the problem and fix it in your end. But only because I pushed them to do the right thing. Not great for customer support! Very dissatisfied!
I have used Hostgator before and has read good reviews. So I was surprised to see my site not running well this year.

Through no fault of their own, the customer service reps have little information on everything (and I mean everything) someone has to do in order to completely, 100% move a site from one provider to another. As in, nothing on moving the actual URL and not just the files and hosting.
The ticket had to be escalated and it all took a few weeks. I'm glad I wasn't relying on my sites for money, but I am relying on them as a part of my online portfolio for finding a new job.
The CSRs are lovely people and they are trying hard! But I think there's a disconnect between upper management and the front line. Empower these people with budgets AND knowledge and they will do even better.

Hostgator was one of the first hosting companies I used for my websites. I have been with them for a number of years and have been very pleased with their hosting, customer service, and technical service. They are one of the few companies still offering live phone service which is terrific. Give them a try. I think you will like them.
