I bought a dedicated server from HostGator on March 10th, 2021. Since the first day, I have been requesting help from their IT team. When I contact chat support they always explain they could only do first-level tech support which is okay but then when I ask to get further help, they explain that the case needs to be escalated. The level 2 tech support can only be contacted via email. It takes forever to get a response. It is now 14 days after, I made the purchase and I am still not set up. I am still waiting for IT support from HostGator. They need to have a direct number for help that is level 2 tech support. It is unacceptable.

I migrated our company's website over from NameCheap because of security breaching issues and because HostGator provides cleaning. It's been a over a year and when it renewed, our entire website and email was down because they didn't make sure to switch our email over to their host as well. When we told them about it they said email wasn't paid for. So we asked for the bill. They said there was no bill. So we said "Create one!" They said they couldn't. Finally, it all got taken care of. Not everyone is a professional website builder or coder, so they definitely need to keep that in mind. Some of us are just regular people who know nothing about this stuff, but need to have a business website.
Another thing is that they offer different priced security packages, though they're telling you that if you don't get the most expensive one, you'll still have breaches... I don't understand that. Then why even offer packages that DONT WORK?

It was very good and easy to use. Some things didn't make snese and a couple of times I needed to work with an assistant to sort. I found everyone helpful.
They were always helfpul. Of course they are often dealing with multiple queries at once whjich takes a while to get used to and sort out, but they were efficient.
I had been hacked on Siteground and on searching, HostGator had been recommended as being secure.

The service and options of this Server are very good.
Both support and inquiries are answered quickly.
We are already using the service for more than 5 years.
It is always available, there is no problem of system crash.

I finally did double authentication and I have yet to receive a text message, which means I have to go find my recovery key each time I log in. I just changed my phone number to not include the "1" before the number. I hope that works. Plus, every time I log in, I have to turn off my sound because the chat box keeps dinging constantly. The new interface is limited and as a long term client, I am not impressed with all the new changes and tripled price overnight with no notice.

I liked that the Information was given when asked, but I don't liked that the issue took longer than the expected, and by the social media announcements it was a shorter time than the real time that it needed to be solved, since our site needs to be live at least at 2 important times in the 7 days of the week
The customer service is great, the majority of time they help you solve the issues, or at least try to do it
Because i needed a good Hosting for an important businness, and I never had problems with hostgator till the date, in my other domains, and if there was a problem always we reach a solution between the customer service and myself

This new update is a nightmare. I used to have my page saved so I can easily change my website. As an auction company, I have to change our website often. Now I need to hunt around on the Host Gator website just to find my page. When I find it, I have to figure out how to edit it. This whole process sucks now. It used to be easy and fast to edit. Was 5 stars... now 1.

The company that own the two hostgator and bluehost care more about making money by forcing people to buy security than taking care of their people. They inject malware to cause panic and force the customer to buy security. It is injustice, cruel, unethical and down right ugly. I hope the government can audit the company for malicious business attempt. My site can't run and i wasted my money twice on both HostGator and Bluehost which owns by the same company. My business has been taking a big hit because of the company immoral approach to business approach.

Gave me best deal and features than other when I was switching. Now I find it difficult to manage with constant email delivery issues, with blacklisted IP, backend configuration issues. Some customer care representatives never understood the issue and finally someone escalated issue to admin to get it resolved. Wished the representative who handled 2nd or 3rd time, instead of redoing the whole process escalated the issue. We had close to 28 days of downtime.16 days trying to resolve from hostgator side.

There is no explanation that the $14.95 privacy is PER DOMAIN It is bait and switch marketing. It was not until I pressed buy now that I was provided with the fact that I had just paid $14.95 X 10 for 10 domains. It is NOT clear! Very slick / poor marketing!

In the past, I had spoken with people in the technical support of Hostgator that unfortunately didn't have the knowledge to resolve my issue or didn't take the time to resolve my issue and always recommended me to other companies to resolve my issue. Things honestly damage the reputation of the company. Today I called the company for the last time and May Ann Rose was very polite and with a lot of knowledge was able to resolve my issue. I think Companies should be more selective with their employees and hire people like her or promote people like her who understand the importance of good customer service to help other employees.

Hello, I have almost purchased 3 server from hostgator, from India for my various customers. Unfortunately on hostgator.com there are no support for Indian clients as having US number only and live chat option (which rarely working else no response). At may occation I tried to contact them on live chat but even though after waiting many hours, there is no response and it keep loading. No email or no other support and even 1-2 time I got to connect them but not getting server level support at all. Even though still there are 2 years pending from 3, I have moved all my website to another service provider and do not want to get any further service from hostgator. They do not have any concern with their clients. I do not recomonded any services from hostgator at all, if you do not want to waste time and money.

My experience has been great, hostgator has all the features to publish my website in one place. Prices are affordable. I couldn't speak to customer service though through a chat, I kept getting links to access. I still solved my issue.
Because I could pay once and still have all the things necessary to publish my website without having to look anywhere else.

Very cumbersome. I have THREE accounts and it's like pulling teeth to get everything synced and to remain synced. I have websites that keep popping up as "Not Secure". The cPanel name is quirky when everything else requires my email address. An agent CHANGED my associated email address and never bothered to change it back.
I've spent a lot to get my sites up. These things need to resolved and I need a much smoother user experience. Otherwise, I might just switch hosting platforms. Very cumbersome!
